Here is a video about a short trip we did to Myall Lakes National Park down in New South Wales. It's a popular dinghy cruising location for the Sydney Raid crew and we went to check it out.
Outstanding! Sorry you had to cut it short - hope you felt better quickly. What a beautiful area/resource to have. It appeared that you set up tent to camp between sails - wondering if the boat is just too small to make base and avoid duplicating campsites. I just acquired a Peep Hen and am armchair planning trips on the East Coast of the US, thinking of using the boat accommodations while traveling. It does allow for a bimini with 4 side panels over the cockpit and standing headroom. Might look odd in the parking lot, but cheaper than hotel! Cheers and beautiful boat!
The boat is enough for one person and all the gear, but for 2 people we have to remove all the gear from the cabin and put it in the cockpit so we just decided to setup a tent on the land, given the grass was so nice. Thank you, yes I was OK again in a few days.
Hi Matt. The Octavia diesel handles it just fine. Combined boat and trailer mass is about 400kg. The fuel consumption went from 4.8L/100km to about 6.5 though, mostly the wind drag I suspect.
Hi Damo. Sorry for the delay. Verdict is that it helps but is a touch too small. For the moment it is doing the business but in lighter winds I still have a small touch of lee helm. In stronger winds with a little heeling it's totally fine.
I'm only 5 minutes in and staying till the end, when the american coast guard pulls you over and 17 armed yanks jump on your boat and sink it - It's not really Australia unless that happens - 🤣
