Glad you are okay from that spill. I was thinking, at least you have a fantastic view to look at, while the initial pain subsides. I have had my eye on the Luna Z1, since it was first announced. I really like torque sensing pedal assist the best. Makes you feel bionic. Thanks for the review. Cheers.
As a person who is unable to do simple multiplication, I appreciate you pointing out the watt hours of the battery. Sorry about breaking in to your Civic.
Great video! About to pull trigger on a Z1 myself. Its a very Zen thing, ONLY look at the track line where u need to go! Not the big hole you want to stay away from... brake, go left, u woulda been fine.
Man I had my eyes set on the X2 Ludi and by the time I came up with the cash(2months) they sold out of every frame but the Small. I'm 5'11.5" My Dad has an FLX F5 Trail, & its 18" frame, close to the MEDIUM LUNA Z1, but when you compare specs on paper it makes it seem like the LUNA X2 Small frame is bigger than the F5 trail Medium. Has anyone ridden both? ONLY the Z1 is left in Large, I really wanted the X2, but considering settling for the Z1. I have an odd body size due to health issues, broke my back twice and missing a few disks, & L2 vertebrae. So I went from 6"1 inseam of 29" to inseam 28.5" & Height about 5' 11.5". I dunno what to do. Should I buy the Z1 or wait till the release of the X2 Ludi Again? I want a Mountain-bike, that I can open up similar to a dirt bike when I want to, & the X2 being able to be tuned down to normal m600 power & up to Ludi mode, feels like I get that option. My dad's bike feels a little big for me, yet it's similar in size to a Medium Z1 or X2. But when you see a LUNA small frame is for 5'1 to 5' 6" it's been hard to imagine that being a good size frame for me at 5' 11". Plus I know i will need to replace seat post at with a small frame. Being able to ride like a real MTB offroad, & on fire roads or switch into a dirtbike-like mode is such a big deal. Had to sell my Kawasaki Z1000 due to a Diagnosis of Primary Lateral Sclerosis, Now I want a light E-bike, to give me some of that fun back. If the medium or large X2 frame was available I'd buy that. But only the small is left. The LUNA Z1 still comes in the Large frame, but it's not exactly what I want. So hard go all summer & fall without a bike or settle for Z1 instead. Tough for me. I'm not rich, & health issues take so much of my income. That this is a huge purchase.
I was about to get one of these but ultimately got the sur Ron. How do they compare? Also what's the size of that rear tire on your sur ron in the background it looks huge!
Sur ron is an absolute blast. This has better suspension out of the box but the sky is the limit once you start modding. Sur ron makes a ton more power. Different animals though. One is more dirt bike. Other more bicycle.
How about a 3-month update? Anymore feedback on your ownership experience with the Z-1?? They are in stock NOW but finding feedback/reviews are few and far between.
I'm in the same boat, and same size as the guy who posted this video. 6'3" and not sure which size to order, I'm also having difficulty finding any in depth reviews.
This is better than the high end name brand bikes… I ordered a Norco range VLT and I think I’m going to sell for this one.. shimano EP8 is only 85 NM I believe
You think that's the battery? Hmmm...I figured it was the chain or something else. I suppose I can wedge some fabric or something in there to see if it helps
Does this bike lack a shift sensor to avoid stressing chain when shifting? I thought I read it lacked this common, key feature. If so, that along with lack of tubeless rims ,would be a deal killer for me.
Nice review! you look on the tall side, what size did you get and hows the fit? im 6'5, not sure if a large (they arent offering a XL size) will fit me.
@@ks5695 I’m 6’3” and I was looking for a XL frame too. They say with ebikes you can go down a frame size. The X2 and Z1 frames sizes very slightly. The Z1 frame is 20” and the X2 is 19”.
I crashed this past summer on my Suzuki DR-Z400. Yeah, about 340 lbs of dirt bike came down on my left ankle and broke the shit out of it, and that's why I'm looking at e-mtn bikes now.
So glad that you can laugh about your spill, but to be honest, this is why I don't ride alone off road. That motor is noisy! Bafang could learn a thing or two from TQ's HPR50. *
What is 48 x 17.5? Not 850 via my math for sure. Fun bike though, I have one myself. Once you get rid of the stock programming it really comes into its own.
@@chapter4travels I had a 48v and a 52v 21700 cell w/40A BMS made in the stock case over in Shenzhen. Less wh's, 720/780 but both have as much range potential as the stock 840 with way better low voltage performance. The 52v is the better of the two as it wakes up the M620 nicely. Unfortunately the stock case is maxed out but working on a soft case solution for up to a 1300wh 21700 52v with a smart BMS but need to expand the down tube cover plate to allow for another row of cells. Battery is no problem to manufacture.
I assume you can pop wheelies w/ throttle on this? How easy is it to hold them? My BBSHD throttle isn't smooth enough (for me) to be able to ride wheelies.
How’s the torque with using throttle only up the hill? Also how about a top speed or mileage range? I ride alot on roads then to trails and was looking at this bike
Dope ride man, I would try a sram XX1 chain not cheap but they are solid, I ride a m620 I use that and a Shimano XTR 9100 , not snapped yet but they are 95-100 chain . I have a Luna coming in a few days .
@@michelleevans9869 torque on throttle only is amazing. Top speed is around 33. It could easily go faster if regeared. Range is an unknown. I have only done 10 mile ish rides so far. Need to test out.
I got the X2 and it has a ludicrous 2000 watt controller and I like the frame much better than this. This frame looks more like a cruiser and the X2 is more of an aggressive mountain bike
