Hello, as you can probably tell from the final decklist and some of the duels but the decklist changed a bit during the event. Mainly in the form of dropping Droplet closer to the end in favor of testing Gamma and Nibiru. Nibiru literally never came up but Gamma was clutch and won me some games on its own. Also the addition of the Tearlaments field spell making Scheiren a 3 of in the deck while also being a nice ATK boost for the fusion monsters in the deck. Will attempt to hit M1 again this season for sure but but this format is not the best with all the handtraps and rise in GY hate decks, mainly Kashtira. Anyways, hope you all enjoy the video! Will see you for Part II before end of the month.
Let’s see: Lunalights at DLv. MAX - Check Great duels to watch - Check Banging music - Check Serena Animations - Check Although Duelist Cup is annoying as all can be, you still made an absolute banger video! Great work as always Lunita! Can’t wait for the part 2 video!
Hi, I stumbled on this channel after one of your comment on JadenBR or Entertainer (odd-eyes), and instant sub. I thought Id hate to see any tear cards at all but this is the only deck (other than orcusts) where Im fine with it lol. I recently built skystriker as a going 2nd deck (blame my coin toss losses for it lol) and was wondering if I should get lunalights as a 2nd going 2nd deck. Do you think it‘d perform better than skystriker or? And does this deck have any going 1 plays or is it blind going 2nd? (Which is what I‘d need to play in tourneys anyways lol). These questions asides, 10/10 video, keep it up!
Well given that Entertainer is a good friend and JadenBR is an inspiration of mine and I talk to both of them a good amount, makes sense haha. As for your question/comment: While I understand why Sky Striker is a good deck choice for going second, I do find Lunalights much more versatile, much more dynamic, and generally much more fun. Lunalight can play several different engines or be used in other decks as an engine itself, can output damage easily, has no locks like HERO for example so your imagination/deck building can be as freeflowed as you make it, you can run it at 40 but it's also good at 60 too like if you wanted to do grass piles. Obviously I'm biased because Lunalights are my pet deck and I'll always choose them but I think there is so much cool things you can do with it and it never gets boring. As for going 1st, you can play it going first but not pure, the most common going first builds are Lunalight Tearlaments and Lunalight Raidraptor/Rank Up but Lunalight Catapult Turtle FTK is a funny one, someone in the community cooked up Lunalight Superheavy Samurai and Lunalight Tri-Brigade was common when MD first released. Lunalights are dirt cheap for the core as well so it's not even a big investment. Hope this is helpful! I'm around in Emir Phoenix's Discord as well as the Master Duel Meta Discord if you ever wanna reach out.
@@royalvandyke wow, thanks for the long and detailled explanation! Now I‘ll have to sell my other kidney in order to build lunalights asap since I would like better ways to kill snake-eyes lol (and my luck opening 30 sky striker packs and getting 15 circulars is just… bad, lmao). I hope I can manage to get some wins with lunalights at tourneys I participate at (DC challenger for example, and more) with this amazing rogue deck!
@@frostdracony No worries, always happy to talk my favorite deck. The issue with building Lunalights is that it does use cards that aren't typically used by many other decks since it has access to good Beast Warrior support but Tiger King and Kagutsuchi are soooo freaking good. There are a few good flex spots in the ED that you can play with for utility purposes. Also most people struggle to know what to negate vs Lunalights and with good hands, we can just extend through it anyways. Kaleido Chick's effect when banished also helps with stop come backs since it prevents effects being activated during the battle phase which can shut down stuff like Branded and Snake Eyes.
To think Serena's a stoic Goku when it comes to dueling, haha. Lovely clip there. As is the gameplay like always! And I see another series whose BGM pervades its entries: Xenoblade!
Great work Royal! 👍 I’m about to start my own DC grind after this with my recently upgraded RDA deck. My goal is D.Lv 15-17 & possibly higher if I don’t get burnt out Some great duels here especially with your opponents making easier for you without knowing it. I’m guessing it’s pretty much all Snake Eyes up in the higher levels huh? My favourite part was 20:51. With Panther ready to strike, Chick shutting down effects in the battle phase & that glorious XC2 Unique Enemy battle theme along with it was just perfect! 20:51: “CHAIN ATTACK START!” 21:05: “DOWN!!!”
Good luck with your climb, I saw an RDA player in Lv 19 who had Called By for my Ash Blossom and cooked me. :^) and yes Snake Eyes is rampant in higher levels
Another great video from you 👍 Nice choice of music! In my personal opinion, the KOF Maximum Impact series, while certainly quite the experimental game, had the best soundtracks out of all the KOF games. That Panther Dancer OTK was such a treat to see! It just occurred to me that under the right circumstances, she can OTK through Prosperity. It’ll be hard to do and relies on the opponent having a whole field of monsters, but the theory is there! I like to experiment with the deck a bit and would cook up an AFD engine build to get some potentially impactful field spells such as Black Garden for generating OTK fodder, or Ancient Forest to force those pesky defense position monsters into attack. As you probably already know, OTKing with Panther Dancer is my favorite way to play the deck and I try to build my deck to be more geared towards that. Unrelated to Lunalight, but I’m overjoyed to see Trickstar get support, especially that with which is geared more towards how I like to play it. Another one of my favorite cards other than Panther and Leo Dancer is Trickstar Divaridis. It’s literally Maxx C for the deck’s notable 200 burn damage. I feel like it’s an underrated card that can have as much power and potential as Lycoris. The problem for a long time however was they always had extenders that were not good, making link summoning hard and less optimal than summon Candina, set Reincarnation, bounces Candina to summon Lycoris, rinse and repeat. Now they can do so much more and I’m already cooking up combos that get Divaridis, Noble Angel, and Band Sweet Guitar to the field! I can’t wait to get my hands on the new cards!! Keep up the great work RVD 👍💕
Not really familiar with Trickstar since I wasn’t playing YGO when they were meta but they always struck me as meh, never lose to that deck but new support is always fun. KoF has a ton of my favorite soundtracks so love using music from the series. Thanks for watching!
Maybe a weird question, but what do you use all your gems on? Since we only see this deck and it doesn't look like you try to get every card royal rare
I build other decks of course if you couldn’t tell by my extremely low SR and UR dust: HERO, Marincess, Dinomorphia, Galaxy Photon, Speedroid, Exosister, Odd Eyes, Mayakashi, Infernoble, Gold Pride PUNK, Synchron, other variants of Lunalight, it’s a long list lol
@@royalvandyke aight xD that's a lot of decks.. i only have branded, blue eyes and a not finished lunalight, since i miss 7 ur cards 🫠 and no gems left sadly... nvm, 9 ur now, since i see you got 2 new ur monster in your deck
@@K.Gottlos yeah the decks I play the most are pure Lunalights, Lunalight Tearlaments and HERO followed by Exosister and Dinomorphia for more casual dueling.
@@royalvandyke when i'm done with Lunalight, so i can finally spam duels, i want to make a exosister and a Labrynth deck to annoy others x) But Lunalight first, i just looks WAY TO FUN to not finish it! Hope i can get some more gems with my branded despia deck and solo mode, to finish the deck.
Concrats for reaching max level. I was surprised, that overall, snake eyes was a rare sight for me in this cup. Like you said, many gy hate. But they should change something about the cup. It's litterely just ladder what makes it always a little underwhelming. However locking forward to your climb to Master 1.
No reason to change the Duelist Cup since its purpose is more so for Worlds Qualifications but it is very boring/tiresome lol. But we got our DLV MAX and gems.
Nice video as always! I don't have the second Luna fusion, leo dancer, do you recommend something else? Or just craft the second one and we are ready to go? I saw u use all the xyz and i don't have all of them, but i can spend some UR
The second Leo Dancer is actually not optimal tbh lol it can come up sometimes as a Kashtira Unicorn target but typically doesn’t. One is fine most times, so you can add another utility card into the ED. ED is flexible for the most part.
@@Saturos2009 Bagooska will not come up often since most people choose going first which is why I don’t care for it. And you have no need for Cowboy, this deck does not struggle to output damage.
@@royalvandyke yeah, Cowboy was a joke But with my luck, i lose the coin flip and i'm against a blind second deck I use to play gladiator beast, and i have to build a hybrid going first build cause half the games i played, i was first xd But first, i need to learn how to play the deck, this is going to be fun
With current meta being snake eyes swarming their field with montsers, monstly in defense position, runnning pentestag to deal piercing with panther dancer?
"Snake-eye players are surely not meta sheep that get carried by their decks. And they definitely don't click buttons as soon as they can, without reading cards." - A meta sheep probably. Thanks for putting them in their place and great piloting as always!
Tbf the first effect is negligible if I activated Tenki that turn since it’s the only Fire Formation card in the deck. Second effect does need to be negated though lol but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, not many people expecting to see Tiger King in their games.
I personally do not play TCG at this time, not a fan of the current format nor the banlist (Tiger to 1 also doesn’t help). The deck is in pretty bad shape as well, best build would be either with Orcust or Tearlament/Horus cards imo. You would not build the deck pure.
ok fk it... i destroyed ma branded Despia deck and finished Lunalight.. now i have no deck left with which i could win and get gems with haha. Played 9 duels, did something.. had no effects left, had 1 card on the field on lost every match xD Guess it's time to rewatch all your videos, remember every combo and start earning gems again x)
The main thing that i loved about yugioh was the different decks id run into but damn has this game ruined that for these events cause all i see is the same stuff being used all for some damn gems -_-
Yeah people try way too hard in these events though to be fair Duelist Cup is hardly a “for fun” event given it is a means for Worlds qualification for pros. I’m just here for the gems and content :^)
