@@MakiiFD98 I’ll consider it, the deck isn’t nearly as good on ladder vs stuff like Yubel, Snake Eyes, etc. Just a very tough format for this variant to shine.
@@kurosakiichigo2693 The emphasis is Lunalight and Utopia first of all. Secondly you need a good companion target for Circular to send off its effect and the best is Sigma… Sigma Cyberse locks you so no it’s not worth it in this variant at all.
@@royalvandyke no, instead of using sigma, you can use alambertian effect to summon mathmech from gy and trigger circular effect to search equation, but you have to summon alambertian instead number 60

I totaly agree with you, that the banlist for this event was terrible. Like I said last time, I played your list and had a ton of fun with it. I even climb a bit in ranked with it, from M4 to M3. I hope for the next event, probably synchro or fusion cup, they think thrice about there choices for the ban list. LUNALIGHTS BEST DECK!
Nice work Royal! 👍 Don’t blame you for not going for Max Level. Lunalight Utopia (Lunatopia) is something I wouldn’t have thought of Why does every Xyz focused event suck? It’s like a curse I swear as the 1st one was quicker to complete just by killing yourself, the second forgot to ban Contact “C” & took their time to fix that & for this one? Add the Duelist Cup system to it & have another crap banlist that makes it drag on & boring The fact that we didn’t get the new Raidraptor cards alongside this event felt like a missed opportunity. I’m looking forward to getting those!

At that point, you’re just trying to play Lunalight Tearlaments which already exists and is the best version of the deck by a wide margin. It’s a good deck and I play it every once in a while but you can’t slot the Tear cards into pure without making big sweeping changes that would still keep it “pure”. I would either play Luna Tear or pure Luna, hybrid builds would need you to play higher card counts which isn’t ideal in Tear decks. It’s not even really ideal for pure Lunas.
I didn't know Lunalights work with Utopia? I find the Yugioh community so interesting with the amount of different styles each duelist can take a deck. Tonight on stream, i got my WCS Horus Utopia deck to Max in the Xyz cup! I agree that this event was toxic for no reason and ass at the same time. Why is mikanko, drytron, labyrinth stun and maxx c playable in this event? At the end of my stream you'll see my 45 card deck build but, i tend to run 3 evenly and 3 nibs? In terms of hand traps, i use 3 ash n one maxx c why? Utopia is great cause are full board stops everything, i just don't like having hand traps and one extender to play.. In other words a brick. I think your deck is awesome and you should try and put Horus in your deck for extra bait and extra board interruptions. Cheesemo out and great clip!
Lunalight Utopia has been a widely known mix for a while by the Lunalight community since not many decks spam Rank 4s like Lunalight can. I’ve tried builds with Horus but as explained in the pinned comment, you already commit a lot of space with both Lunalight and Utopia cards before considering non-engine. You’d go close to 50 cards give or take with Horus and that’s just a bit too inconsistent for a deck that already suffers inconsistency. I don’t really plan to play the deck much more than once in a blue moon to experiment further, Utopia is just not consistently good enough in higher Ranks especially going second. Good to see Utopia Lunalight putting in the work. This event has been honestly miserable for me. It's been nothing but 8-axis Horus, Stun, Burn, Kash stun, Horus stun, stun stun stun, and more stun. Going first sucks because of all the kaijus, golems and board breakers for OTKs. This event has just sucked man. :(

As a PROFESSIONAL Utopia player, I don't play Utopia. Double evenly ruins lives, so congrats on the come back from that. Lunalights simply make every deck better :^)
Let's address the first point: I did not get DLV MAX in this event. This event's banlist was awful (the format itself was also awful for an event like this). Higher levels were filled with Kashtira, Purrely, Lab, Mikanko, and variants of stall/stun. I tried my best but it just wasn't worth the effort for me (highest I got was 18). Anyways, as for the deck itself, Lunalight provides Utopia much needed extension and ability to play through handtraps with Perfume, Tiger, you know, the typical Lunalight things. Unfortunately, the two decks do suffer from large engine requirements which cause very dead hands at times. Dugares can help alleviate this as well as XYZ Change Tactics but they are still not reliable of course. Also Nibiru kills this deck, it takes forever to put up a counter to the rock before they are good to drop it. A full uninterrupted board is pretty varied and strong but could something be achieved much easier with other Lunalight variants? Very much so. Lunalights do most of the heavy lifting in this deck and the Utopia cards are the pay off but I'm not mad at it. The deck can be fun, made a ton of people scoop when I kept playing past through disruptions. This is one of Lunalight's weaker variants for sure but it was still nice to showcase. Yeah the banlist was kinda fricked. If I wanted to watch meta xyz decks running around at full power, I would just play ladder. I also kept running into horrible floodgates that shouldn't have been allowed into an xyz only event. Tried to squeeze some S/T removal into the deck, but it hurt more than it helped. Still a lot of fun getting to play around with a different version of Lunalight. I never really messed around with Utopia cards in general, so this was a good excuse to try them out.
@@Purin1023 I've played Utopia pure like once or twice but built it after being inspired by another person who wanted to use Lunalights in Utopia. It's always been a variant but never saw the synergy until trying it myself. It's fun when it works, it's shitty when it doesn't or when you go second (that's why most of my replays are going first).
Nice replays, especially the Lunatopia one, with the Lunalight main deck monsters providing the groundwork for the Utopia boss monsters to shine. It's like Yuma and Serena joining forces. 👍

Wow! I am just picking up the game again and am working on my skills in game. Your videos are really helping to learn the combos. I have the Lunalight Cards irl and am freshing up with some staples atm. Do you reckon I should invest in Droplets? Or would you recommend other cards? I am trying to not break my bank all too much lol
@@lorenzmirow9261 Droplet’s the best board breaker in the deck though I know people love Super Poly, I just don’t like making slots for it in the extra deck personally. Otherwise if you’re playing TCG, just run as much handtraps as you can get away with: Imperm, Moonlit Chill, Veiler, etc.
Pop Nightmare Pain (you can run Ghost Ogre if you so choose), negate Yama, the busted Unchained Link 2, negate Nightmare Pain’s search eff or Samsara Lotus special summon eff.

@@jumani1131 Fox isn’t a negate, she is protection and very worthless protection for a deck that doesn’t end on any Lunalight monsters or care for targeted effects on the Lunalight monsters. Fox is just another brick.
God that Utopia combo was insane. I saw the list on MDM, but I wasn't sure how you got to the endboard you were describing. Hopefully we can see more of that in the xyz festival.
I already have Utopia replays of combos (not a lot since I stopped to edit this video) but yeah a pretty solid board tbh and fun to pull off. Can go through disruption well thanks to the Lunalight cards.

I have a bunch of wins vs Yubel but not very showcase worthy sadly, even the one in the video isn’t but it is what it is. The Salad duel, I mental boomed and forgot about the other trap and just clicked the field spell and noticed it after the fact. All good, got the win.
@@royalvandyke Yeah, for all the hype Yubel got it's not that scary I rather face Yubel over SE any day Yubel is missing it's omni negate and getting rid of Nightmare Pain is not that difficult The XYZ event is awful btw, I have fully crafted Purrely and Lab at the ready and I can barely bring myself to play
@@owo2312 I actually rather face SE than Yubel, I think Yubel’s biggest issue currently is the pilots themselves. Tons of bad players getting carried by that deck. Also the event is just terribly managed, I was hoping to just get gems and content and leave but this format makes it harder to do so.
@@royalvandyke tbf most pilots are really bad and get carried by their decks like SE players still negating chick even at master rank, or trying to target purrely under street (even against common meta decks they never learn) be sure not to grind the event in one go, konami loves adding missions at the last couple days to pull players back in

Master Rank achieved and then some! So after the last video, getting Master Rank was pretty quick to be honest. So quick that I didn't have enough good duels for a video so I threw in a duel from last season vs Salamangreat but it's all good. Nothing new of note to be honest. I did showcase another Lunalight Utopia replay in preparation for XYZ Cup where it will be highlighted in the festival as well. It's full combo and pretty good when you don't get interrupted.
