Well that was a quick turnaround from Diamond 5 to Master 5! Same decklist as the one that got me Master 1 last season, same matchups too. Snake-Eyes continues to be my most played matchup and it's just as fun as the last duel with them (sarcasm). But we get the wins and send them packing consistently. The Lunalight Tearlaments duel was after getting M5, just wanted to play around with the deck after editing it and no pressure of demoting. The decklist for that was included but it's a work in progress as it's been months since I've played it so feeling things out and wanted to provide something besides OTKs. Otherwise, hope you all enjoy and I'll see you again soon enough! PS: Runick Stun LMAO
I have been binge watching your videos lately and you’ve convinced me to make this deck lol Ironically I’m gunna dismantle all my snakes cards for it 😂 Couple Question tho: When you go against GY control decks do you just scoop? Would mathmech laplacian be a bad idea to help have in case I play a back row heavy deck?
First of all, thank you so much for watching the content, I truly appreciate that! I would probably keep your Snake Eyes deck, you need something to keep you steady with gems. Q1. It depends, any Shifter deck is almost an insta-scoop, Lunalights die to Shifter. You can play around certain cards than banish outside of Shifter, just depends on the matchup. Q2. I'm not a fan of Laplacian, it can be easily negated in a going second deck which is why it works better in going first set ups. Just run multiple forms of backrow removal: Tornado Dragon, Guardian Chimera, Fire Fighting Daruma Doll, Harpies, Lightning Storm, etc. That said, treat your ED like a toolbox to enable your OTKs, it's very flexible.
The amount of times people negated kaleido chick is depressing. And I'm not gonna say anything about the top decks for the first two games, cuz we take those in this trash meta. Amazing work my guy.
Hey sorry for the late reply. Just wanted to reiterate my appreciation for what you do. Incredibly happy to have some consistent Lunalight content to watch and look forward to. Keep up the great work rvd 👍👍
@@royalvandykebtw I didn’t watch the video all the way because I kept falling asleep off and on (or maybe I did and I just didn’t know it 😂), but omg that Cat Dancer OTK at the end!! Happy to see her get some love too!
I'm subbing quickly. I used to main Lunalights way back but I couldn't seem to get them to work anymore. I love your plays it really is Lunalight but up to date AND the way you beat Snake Eyes, Labs (the snooze fest of a meta) up is satisfying! the Kaledio send tiger then Lunalight fusion play had me jaw dropping because of the way you STIll managed to come back. Keep it up!
Lunalights are the best, so fun to play and so much potential with them. The fusion play was no big deal lol but it is a fun way to make a comeback after all that disruption.
Great work Royal! 👍 It’s a good thing we aren’t forced to take a drink 🍻🥃 each time Kaleido Chick gets negated! Cat Dancer rarely gets a moment to shine but her moment this time was glorious!
The last time I did an actual Cat Dancer OTK with her effect was an old video that's now deleted where I OTK'd a Live Twin Spright player through Scythe Lock with Cat Dancer as my only extra deck summon lol fun times. Thanks for watching!
Your video randomly came up on my feed and now I'm you've convinced me to make this deck in the future. Unfortunately this deck will saved for next month at the minimum because I need to finish Rescue ace, Lab resonater, and Altergeist. I'm also gonna sub as well. The way you run this deck made me want to make this deck. I will ask this question. If i were to make this deck, should I go with this Luna tear version or the one from your previous videos?
Welcome! To answer your question, I would play something closer to current with the caveat that you can very much edit the extra deck and non-engine to suit your needs/playstyle with few exceptions. Luna Tear and pure Luna are separate builds though, I mainly play pure Luna which is what my videos tend to focus on and old builds tend to change (mainly non-engine). I'll hopefully have a few new videos coming soon enough.
@@royalvandyke Definitely. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your future videos. I might be leaning to the pure Luna build because I'm most likely gonna be broke as a joke but I might go Luna tear as well. Both are stylish clean builds that have a lot of interactions that can play through a lot of interruptions. You have added another player to the Luna light nation
@@Solokid404 Yeah the new Tear pack will be really nice to help build it, was lucky with my pulls when Tear first dropped so built Luna Tear and then regular Tear afterwards. But more Lunalight players are great and there's more builds than just those two :)
Any changes to the deck anytime soon? Such as new tech/engine maybe still waiting on that Tri-brigade lunalight deck any tips on how to build it. Great video as always!!!
I haven't played Luna Tri since the early months of this game, dismantled it too lol I'll rebuild it one day. Any changes to this deck will be in the form of ratios and ED swaps.
@@TheKihyuniverse I am just not a fan of Super Poly as a board breaker when your ED can act as that support honestly. No locks, lots of cool monsters to add, Super Poly is blah.
LOL your last opponent 21:06 is the same Snake-Eyes dude from my Season 27 Master Rank video! Bro if you see this, stop playing Meta and join the ANIME DECK side. Great video and nice duels my friend
I'm not super familiar with the Rescue Ace cards (I'm becoming familiar with the new pack lmao) but I'll look into it. Draw power isn't so bad in the deck, just some hands don't let you do anything so consistency will be the biggest thing to fix.
@@royalvandyke rescue ace impulse allows you to summon fire attacker, which will let you draw 2 discard 1 in your opponent turn, so it boosts consistency and it also discards by card effect. It's similar to phantazmay
All this FIRE and Lunalight's still not sweating it here. Despite that gorgeous Duel Links animation for Leo--- Also how do you keep finding game OST's I'm sentimental over? Awakening was my entry to Fire Emblem and I still owe a lot of myself to that game haha.
I just like to find new music to separate my videos from my peers and such, I’ve used Fire Emblem OSTs before though with Three Houses. Also Lunalights best deck.
That was realy fast. Was it the fastet M5 so far? Just AWSOME! Next ban list they hit the snakes for sure, copium. But for now, we must play our part as professional Snake Control service for another month😂
I believe it is the fastest I have ever hit M5 yeah lol never demoted, D2 was the only division where I had bad games. Snake Eyes hits sooner than later please 🥲
Haha the end blow in the last game with cat dancer was very cool, I remember back in the time when I was playing legacy of the duelist that it was cat dancer that made me play lunalight 😂, with the character deck un staff haha , it was I deck built around cat dancers pure nostalgie ngl ,nice video as always, I tried the armored xyz engine with lunalight, you must check it , it helps with the otk
I don't see the value in the Armored XYZ Engine personally, taking up a few extra deck spots when the deck already has enough damage and draw power as is. Rather focus on the utility of the ED toolbox personally.
@royalvandyke for me I don't have the tornado and bujin xyz , I had the armored cards laying around after a pack opening so a gave them a try, the reason is I noticed that often dugares is left on field with no purpose, so making it into a big full armored dark night seemed like a good idea, and if for some reason tour opponent made me go first , there's a play
@@khaleddjermane8544 Tornado can be flexed but I love Kagutsuchi in this deck for extra mills. I don't have the full armor cards besides Lancer so I just didn't wanna invest. If it ain't broke, don't fix it sort of deal.
I had a lot of pain during this episode XD Not only do they negate chick everytime, they summon so many Monsters in Atk mode...Against Lunalight, after seeing they play against Lunalight XD
That’s the neat part, you don’t lol unfortunately Nib is pretty bad for the deck but if you can set up the OTK without using Marten or Zephyros, you can still OTK anyways since they reset your scales. You can of course add something like an Apollousa or a Utopic Draco Future in the ED if you want that insurance.
@@royalvandyke I tried to come up with something for Lunalight but I have Purrely Ghostrick fully crafted so I'm just going to do that. Keep in mind you cannot face the same team, so I won't face Kashtira. I expect to run almost exclusively into Branded, T.G. Calamity Lock and Swordsoul sometimes, so I'm preparing against those decks. Everyone else will be running something anti-Purrely. Either way I'm excited to see what you come up with. Even if it's not Lunalight.
This deck is built to go second, pure can't set up firs turn boards without another engine like Tearlaments, Raidraptors, Horus, etc. You usually do Bagooska, HTs/backrow pass.
Your combos for going second will always vary depending on the board state and your own hand. You would just pitch Marten with Chick and combo from there.
@@royalvandyke yea man but have tried testing around for otks with only those 2 as a super consistent one and only found 1 line using bardiche that was playing too many bricks so not worth
@royalvandyke My deck is similar to yours Lunalight Tearlaments except: No Maxx C, yet No Sea Mare No Ishizu cards No Fenrir No Trivikarma All Tearlaments monsters are maxed out 2 Ash 3 Tearlaments Grief 1 Tearlaments Heartbeat 1 Emerald Bird 2 Marten 2 Wolf 3 Chick 3 Tiger 1 Called by 3 Tenki 2 Tearlaments Scream 1 Tearlaments Cryme 1 Poly 1 Lunalight Fusion 1 Serenade Dance Extra Deck All Tearlaments Fusions 1 Dancer 2 Panther 2 Leo 1 Force Strix 1 Avaramax Who should I replace the extra Panther and Leo with? And what's your thoughts on adding King of the Swamp and or Super Poly?
@@bizdude4lfe Oh you're going full hybrid, my Luna Tear build is meant to use the Luna cards to support the Tear strategy which is why I only run a few Lunalight cards. I have tinkered with a Hybrid build but never settled on anything, this was pre Trivikarma and Tear Kash. I don't like either Force Strix or Avramax, both not needed, you don't even have a Force Strix target. You wouldn't need any Luna fusions outside of Panther/Leo, you can add Sabre as well. But overall, probably not the best cook. KOTS is awful, Super Poly can be good but it takes a decent amount of your ED so it's preference.
@@royalvandyke oh my bad, its on me ig Anyway thank you for the video, i really love fusion and its variant but tbh the lunalight varian is harder to play than Branded variant imo. Your gameplay really give me insight as a fusion enjoyer
@@mzakibariza8853 Lunalight Branded is awful and not worth playing, adding bricks to an already established Branded strategy for no good value. I don't personally like Branded anyways so rather not put more of their cards in my deck besides Chimera.
@@royalvandyke yeah i mean i usually play branded, i also like lunalight but i cant make it works because of skill issue. i play lunalight once but its the spam rank 4 varian (luna light pk iirc), but i dont really like it cuz im more into fusion
@@mzakibariza8853 Well Branded is the better deck with an insane amount of support. Lunalight Raidraptor is cool, not my favorite but sometimes it's fun to negate board people or Kali Yuga them.
Nah, Lunalights Tearlaments is its proper name always. You just started playing this deck recently 'cause of me ~.~ but okay. Luna Tear doesn't play like normal Tear though.
@@royalvandyke @royalvandyke I play Lunalight since the game release till Tear format (Lunalight + raid raptor version) , but I lost faith in this deck, your version seems fun, so I try Lunalight again (Honestly, I even drop the game since Tear format, but just back from your video like 6 month+ ago?) Here is the proof that I used to play Lunalight (your version is better than this since Raid Raptor require 3 brick cards) replay that I save Lunalight Raptor vs Prank kid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fxo2LBz6zaY.html&ab_channel=WidchaponJearaphunt
@@widchaponjearaphunt5452Well I played pure Lunas in every format this game has presented meaning my first videos were all in Tearlaments format. Lunalight Raidraptor is hardly a Lunalight deck to be honest, I understand you put in Lunalight ED monsters but that’s not the norm. Either way, this deck only bricks as bad as it does because of fusion spells and specific hands not being able to do anything with each other as well as the limit to Foolish Burial Goods which only came after Tear’s introduction.
@@royalvandyke For Tear not only did they make Foolish Good get to 1, but they also made Konami make Bystial, so it was a disaster for me so I dropped, but you still play with Lunalight, That is another level For Lunalight Raid Raptor, well it don't feel like Lunalight since it focus on XYZ and Link focus, however, my finisher is still Leo Dancer and Panther, and the main deck only have 3 birds, so...
@@gravethestampede3454 no I know that he specifically means Chick effect lol he plays HERO, Shining Neos Wingman is a power crept version of Leo Dancer
