Cadisen has released an homage to the Lunar Pilot with their new quartz chronograph C7063. The dial is heavily inspired by the 2023 mini or Snoopy, but there are some differences with the case and obviously the movement. Dial is immaculate for the price! That would look good…if you can find one in 19mm! (Could probably squeeze a 20mm in there…!)

Yes. And likely change the lug width. Maybe new colors - red is popular now with Chinese watch as 2024 is the year of the dragon. This would look sweet in deep red with a few gold accents

Yeah, a weird movement choice for sure. I'm almost certain nobody uses a tachymeter these days. My biggest complaint would be the seconds hand not hitting any of the markers(not usually a big deal except, it is way off by around a half second at some of the seconds markers.) Once you see that it kind of ruins it for me. Maybe the watch reviewed here was just a bad one. Great review, this was one I was interested in, but not anymore.

Definitely a weird movement choice. I'm with you...don't usually USE the tachymeter, but I don't want my watch frontin'! 😂 And I agree about the seconds hand. I'm kind of a quartz snob in that regard. If it doesn't hit the markers, I still enjoy the watch, but I'm not as enamored by it. Hits the markers and I'm impressed and a fanatic!

Textured dial face looks great. The seconds hand missing the mark would annoy the heck out of me. The useless chronograpgh makes this too much of a compromise. 19mm is the final nail in the coffin.

The dial is phenomenal at this price! Look at the macro shots...you don't see dials that clean for this price. Seconds hand is consistently off mark, so probably varies from watch to watch. Well, the chrono isn't useless, but the tachymeter scale is. Haha...19mm did you in! Yeah, not sure why they did that. Thankfully, more aftermarket strap makers are jumping aboard the odd mm sizes.

Yeah with a VK63 this watch would be a great daily/beater alternative to wearing the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

Cadisen makes some decent watches for the money especially if you buy during sales. Not thrilled with their logo. I picked up a C8210 Yacht Master style with NH35 and excellent BGW9 lume for under $50USD.

Great to hear the lume is excellent! Yes, seeing this dial under macro lens is just amazing how clean for the price. Just wish they would have used a VK-63 movement, or ditched the tachymeter scale on this one. I think these were blowout sale priced at around $30 the other day...!

@@WatchWitt Totally agree. At least they are using a seiko vd53 movement. They could have really cheaped out and used a sunon PE70 that would have the large second tachy hand. Really the sunon is not terrible as long as it doesn't run slow.

The detail on this dial is amazing for the price point. Holds up to the macro shot like crazy! The blue radial grooves look so good! I hate the 24 hour subdial too...I wish someone would tell Seiko to change it out for something else. I think it would be useful if you could use it to track a 2nd time zone.....mini GMT! Haha!
