This is the second vid in a series of three that will cover the sounds and features of Lunaris. Lunaris is a 4.5GB pad instrument powered by and licensed to the free Kontakt Player and that means you do not need the full version of Kontakt to play the instrument.
In this vid I will go through the user interface and the functions of Lunaris such as the Random, Timestop, Filter Split and Flux Motion.
Lunaris ships with over 250 pad presets from classic analog pads to lush ambient pads, deep pads, cinematic pads and any pad in between, including some 30 original Luftrum pads from the Prophet-6. Lunaris also contains sequenced pads from underscoring elements to more contemporary rhythmic patterns plus a selection of dark, avantgarde and obscure pads. The presets are created by world-class sound designers such as Arksun, Bigtone, Himalaya, Luftrum, Martin Walker, Adam Pietruszko, Twolegs Toneworks and Brandon Clark.
At the heart of Lunaris are more than 2700 individual samples and over 200 NKI instruments of multisampled pads, field recordings, synth transients and soundscapes to combine, sculpt and shape into the perfect pad structure.
Not only is Lunaris a dream pad machine, it is also a full bodied creative tool that can excel at anything from soundscapes to synth leads, as well as drones and organic textures, complementing both the producer, composer and the sound designer.
Lunaris will be released ultimo July 2017.

I finally pulled the trigger and purchased Lunaris. Like my previous Luftrum sound-sets, Lunaris will be a major part of my upcoming new album that I am currently writing. Downloading now and am looking forward to playing with it. :)

Ohh I do, it is a really good tool that instantly pop's new idea in my head. I have a few comments. 1) download is very slow for such a large file 2) I miss a system to mark my favorites 3) I already start hope for an "Tangerine Dream" extension filled with their most used sounds (you can name it Tangeris)

After sorting ou some issues because Lunaris didn´t work in Studio One until I updated komplete kontrol (even though I don´t use it) I finally got it running and I have to say: Lunaris is really awesome!! Great job, Soren! I really appreciate your work and I love Lunaris! And: An option to mark favourites would be fantastic!

Hello little question the fact of using 4 instruments simultaneously that does not saturate the CPU / or Memory. For those who use the full version of kontakt the instruments appears it in the column of guauche by category. thank you very much. A big thank you. My congratulations for this great work you have done on LUNARIS

Using several active layers alone should not be an issue for most computer, but it depends on factors as polyphony, release times and the amount of effects and modulation used for each layer. The more functions in use, the higher CPU drain. Lunaris is shown in the Library Browser of both the full version of Kontakt and in the free Kontakt Player.

So I love your stuff. As an omnisphere user, sometimes Luftrum patches, especially ‘Expanse’ multis can overtake my CPU. With so much of this being sample-based and native, would you say the CPU strain is reduced compared to those libraries for example?

I would say, Lunaris can be very CPU demanding, but for most of the presets it's a low CPU consumption. Extensive CPU drain is almost always related to the reverb structure of Lunaris. Up to four IR reverbs are allowed simultaneously (one per layer) and some presets take advantage of that. Turning off additional reverbs solves it. The majority of the presets are only use a single reverb instance.

Question is, as an owner of myriad Omnisphere libraries, do I really need this? I do like the simplicity of the GUI and the immediacy of changing preset combinations and effects. At $159 I might have to pass...

Thank you. You might choose to grab it during a sale, like the recent 40% sale in June, where you could save $64 bringing Lunaris down from $159 to $95.

You would need the Kontakt Player, which is completely free to download and use. Lunaris is loaded into this player. No other purchase is needed. The Kontakt Player can be downloaded from here: www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-6-player/

@@Luftrum1 thank you very much.one more question.i can use lunaris like a synth correct?the sounds inside sound different depending on the keys i press correct ?

That's correct. It works like any other VST and software synth and can be inserted into your DAW like other plugins and will even work in stand-alone mode too. When you play up and down the keys it changes pitch, just as a hardware synth would do it. Also, all effects you hear in the vid are from Lunaris alone - there are no external effects or processing. What you hear is what you get.
