Lunch Box Unboxing: GI Joe X Transformers Crossover Lunchbox: Funko Gamestop Exclusive (2021) 

I wish these retro lunch boxes would come with a thermos. That's the essence of the lunch box!...for me anyway

My wife bought me one of these last year. The buttons are the same. I got a Cobra logo keychain, and for Funko Pops I got Optimus and Cobra Commander. Not something I would have invested in myself, but a fun gift. The lunchbox - Transformers side out - helps support Autobots on the back of my very modest collection shelf.

The original 82 Joe group photo of Jumping off the MOBAT would have been cool

They put out a few Joe lunch boxes back in the day and I'm pretty sure this art wasn't used on any of them. The 82 metal box featured that years characters on one side and what looks to be an early attempt at the MOBAT's art on the other (the top turret gun is different and some unknow soldier is manning it). Later plastic boxes featured box art for various vehicles and poster art, none of them were the A.W.E. Striker. That Transformers art was of course used on a vintage lunch box in 84.

I have two plastic lunchboxes from the 80s. A dark blue He-Man and a light blue Smurfs. My cousin had the same He-Man lunchbox and I remember how we were in the same class and accidently grabbed the wrong one, because they were in the little cubbies at the back of the classroom.

I get that this is for "Joe June", but I gotta say, "The Transformers" completely owned that lunch box. 🙂

If only these included a thermos and a little plastic box for the sandwich, they'd be perfect.

Definitely a good deal at 5 bucks. No way would I have been happy to pay 50 bucks for it. The lunchbox itself looks very nice and the keychain is cool 👍

This is interesting. I was noticing recently just now much the 'peripheral' stuff I would have seen as a kid is tickling my collectors fancy now - pencil toppers, lunchboxes, etc. Not sure why, but it seems to have more appeal than it used to. I kinda want some vintage lunchboxes with thermos flasks for that vintage school lunch experience...

My GiJoe lunchbox had the MOBAT and JUMP on it from the first couple “seasons”. I love the AWE Striker, one of my go-to toys as a kid. And the original Transformers art is SO nostalgic. I must have this!!

Seems worth $5. FYI, Gung Ho's tattoo is also missing from the artwork on the 2020 A.W.E. Striker release. Definitely a curious choice for this lunchbox.

I got same ones but cool lunch boxes are Funko pops either I got into 5 years but stop was for cheap and ones

Yo Joe. Dang it’s been a while since I tried getting into GI Joe and I have seen these in a while so getting to check this video answers that curiosity. It’s definitely a wonderful lunchbox for sure.

No thermos? Haha. I had a plastic ji Joe lunchbox when I was a kid. The picture was a water moccasin.

It’s nice that the lunchbox combines both of my favorite things for its artwork.. Unfortunately, these stupid Funko pops pollute it.

It's cool and I hate to be a complainer but the choices of G.I. Joe art makes it a no for me. I did have a couple of these metal lunchboxes when I was a kid, The Empire Strikes Back and The Dukes of Hazzard. I had a Transformers lunch box also but that one was made of plastic.

Definitely worth it to a funko/gi joe/transformers fan for $5 it's practically a steal. Not for me though. I don't really like funko pops.
