Kudos to the PaDhola gentleman. His mind is agile and dynamic. Now I see the connection between Lou and the kingdoms of Bunyoro and Buganda. Kudos also to the jaLuo. The future belongs to you two.
Very inspiring bro Olunga and your important guest. Am from the Bito Clan in Acoli Uganda. Bit (bito) was said to be a brother to Nyoro who formed the Banyoro.... we Africans certainly need to rediscover our true history. Am delighted in your effort of reawakening. Apwoyo, Jokjokamalo, Erokamano.....
Bunyoro Kitara under Luo-Babito stopped the spread of slavery into Uganda and resisted British Colonialism in Modern times . Also in South West Ethiopia the Luo-Anywaa/Anuak Kingdom resisted Arab slavery and defeated the British in 1912 in Gambella Ethiopia . In 645 AD Sudan/Lower Egypt along the Nile the Luo-Shilluk Kingdom under Reth fought the Turco-Egyptian rulers of Egypt and conducted raids on the Arab north therefore slavery did not advance southward into East Africa . The Dinka,Luo and Nuer created fierce warrior classes and these conflicts spilled over into modern times with the first Sudan civil war(1955-1971) known as Anyanya I rebellion against Arab North .
@@KPtravels001That Man is class above in Luo history and even many things I'm telling u my brother Ogot. Just work together with him, even he has some dhopadhola when he speaks even elders don't understand him
Kogot we have joka jok in Ugenya and they spread to western Mumias sub county. They live in a village called Lukongo koguna, Oguna was their great grandfather
Jo Kowiny are Alego people,JOKomollo are Ugenya and All South Nyanza groups.....Kanyada is Ja Ugenya who lived in Boro of Alego and till now he thinks he is a Ja Alego and Jok is mainly Rachuonyo clans.
Yiii, which Onyango went to West Nile to form the Alur? Did I hear that right? Because from the little bit of history I know, yes Olum did usurp Rukidi's title, however the Alur and Acoli are his grandchildren borne of his sons Nyipir, Nyabongo and Thiful. Alur are quite literally the children of Nypir and Thiful, and we know of no Onyango. The others that arent of those two are the children of Kwonga who was connected to our more general ancestress, Nyilak. Our kings directly trace their lineages to Nyipir after his crossing and the clans formed along that journey are there to date! This brother of ours should reconfirm some of the history he's delivering. Edit: Actually in some other versions Olum gives birth to Nyilak, who is the mother to the Nyipir and his brothers.
Well, there's need to harmonise history. As years go by, history tends to fade especially if it's not documented. So I probably need to have a debate of the different versions of history and harmonise them.
@@KPtravels001 very true. Also, the names of personalities change with the different communities so maybe that's where some confusion comes in. For example Alur use Nyipir and Nyabongo while Acoli use Gipir and Labongo. Otherwise as usual, thanks for the great work
Present Day Sudan has more pyramids than present day Egypt . Therefore present day Sudan/Egypt same territory like past Sudan/Egypt . Nilotic Luo,Nuer,Dinka and other Nilotic and Nilo-Saharan groups like Nuba in Sudan/Lower Egypt preceded present day groups in the region .
LUPITA NYONGO (Kenya Luo like OBAMA) Completed her DNA with Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates(a personal friend of OBAMA) and found that she has the DNA from Oldest Maternal Haplogroup (ANCESTRAL EVE) .
Wajaluo was TANZANIA ambao ni KAMAGETA wametokea MAGETA ISLAND, JO KOWAK wametokea SAKWA, Jo WATURI wametokea UYOMA, Luo SUBA wametokea SUBA DISTRICT. hakuna wa MIGORI
That's just a misunderstanding. What I meant is that we were taught about the luo of Kenya (Joka Owiny, Joka Jok and Joka Omollo) but not the other groups that remained behind like Jopadhola, Acholi, Anywaa, Alur or Shilluk etc.
In as much as I may disagree. Most of our history taught in schools are actually wrong 😊. I think we need to support this guy to find out the truth because most of our history is dying with the few elders which is sad.
About Kumam, I dont think teso womans luo children are enough to preserve the luo language. There must be a majority situation for this to happen. No other possibility
The luo in Kenya is not a single entity, the single entity was motivated by colonial writers and politics where by the Kenya luo because manority to other bantu tribes, monority doesn't meant they originated from a single, or one grand parent.
