Do the French ever use ne...point as opposed to ne...pas nowadays?

Yes and no. The only reason to use ne...point in a conversation would be sarcastically, kinda like using a Shakespearean type of speech / using thou in English to sound posh just for laughs

@@frenchonthego7120 I see. When I did French at school in the 1960s we were taught that ne...point was used when you wanted to emphasise the negative as in I wouldn't do that! Je ne ferais point ça! So some of my French is a bit antiquated. Mind you, the French teacher was bien âgé and taught us French as it was in the 1920s.
