Lure fishing for Pollack from the shore is great sport on light gear. Here we use soft lures and metal jigs to catch some incredible Pollack.
Here are some links to the lures we used. I hope it helps.
Sidewinder Skerries Eel - bit.ly/3srYYzs

Great session with lots of action. Nice catch & release lesson for those new to the sport. I have to ask though...why no net? Wouldn't it have been safer and easier on the gear...and the fish? Not being critical, just curious :-)

Eric G - We had to cover some pretty intense terrain to reach the mark so were travelling light. Also, some of the spots you would need a 14ft pole on it. For the majority of the fish it’s just not practical. But good question. 😉🎣👍🏻

What a fantastic day you had mate. Seemed like you couldn't miss. Good to know that biggish fish can be caught so close to the shore. I guess it's all about knowing the best marks. Hard to find the best ones but I need to do more discovering of my own. From what I've heard so far though, the best marks are in mostly dangerous areas.We are experiencing fires at the moment and I'm a tad distracted form how things are going down the coast. Our next camping day was not far away but will probably have to cancel it because of the air quality. There is a strong smell of burning outside and there's a haze with visibility down to maybe half a kl . Still, a fire would not stop me watching your videos. Looking forward to the next one John. Have a great day.

And if I fully publicise then over the internet theyd be ruined. At the end of the day it’s all done by good old fashioned research and leg work. Sometimes they turn out to be crap. Great day's fishing. Interesting you mentioned that a longer rod would have given you a bit more control. I have always preferred a rod of 10' or 11' long. The great Bass angler ED SCHILIFFKE designed the famous 'Rock Hopper' 11' Normak rod in the 80s. But these days top end spinning rods are mostly 7' to 9' in length (influenced by French boat anglers). Do you agree?
@TheFishLocker
@TheFishLocker 4 года назад
7pinky7 - As I say in my rod review for the Izu that I was using, for the boat is perfect - whereas a longer one is difficult to net fish etc. But for shore work like this the added length gives you more ability to manoeuvre the fish.
