Livingstone from Lusaka by bus, the Khumba guy travelled with Shalom Bus Services.
This video highlights that trip, showing the towns along the way, and various landmarks you will encounter.
Lusaka - Livingstone is nigh of 500 Kilometers, and this particular trip took us about 8 and half hours.
Food stop along this route is mainly Monze, though you can dash for something at Choma or maybe even order Debonnaires in Mazabuka before you arrive (I've never tried that tho!)
I also showcase SHALOM bus service. They run a large fleet of good quality buses to the Southern and Western provinces of Zambia, and also to Johannesburg South Africa.
Find me on these platforms also.

It helps that the buses are comfortable. It is a bumpy a rough ride where the roads are bad, but you have to bear with those sections. Bad roads I crease fatigue and journey duration, but roads are getting continually worked on here in Zambia, which is a good things.

It shows a little history about the ANC vs UNIP, or something like that, and one of the parties had its headquarters around Choma, Also shows the history of the people of that area and the forming of the Kariba dam, and has craft and exhibitions.

Hello, thanks for your videos..! I have a lot of questions and I will appreciate your help trying to respond them.... 1. Today which is the best bus company between Lusaka and Livingstone? The rates and timetable, please. 2. I noticed that the train from Lusaka to Livingstone takes more than 18 hours but I also noticed that the same train or maybe another takes less than 8 hours to return from Livingstone to Lusaka. Could you please let us know that, the name of the trains and timetable... And how to buy the tickets...We are only interested in a short time journey between both cities. By the way, if the train does not leaves or arrive in Lusaka, please let us know how to reach those places... 3. Is there a one day safari from Livingstone that visits a national park where we can see giraffes, hippos, rhinos, lions, etc.. and if you have a safe agency and prices would be great! By now these are the questions that I have to ask. Once again, thank you very much! Best regards, Camilo from Colombia
@theKhumbaguy
@theKhumbaguy 3 года назад
Hello Camilo, Thanks for getting in touch. For your first question, Shalom is your best option from Lusaka to Livingstone and they have buses at 05am, 07:30am, 10:00am and another at 13:00. It costs K180 which currently is just about $10. Your other option is Oasis bus or Mazhandu Bus services which are also okay. 2. There is only one company that does trains to Livingstone and that is Zambia Railways, the red one. And it takes almost 20 hrs from Lusaka to Livingstone. 3. Yes there is a national park in Livingstone and game drives are available every day. There is also a place called Mukuni Big 5 where you can also see big cats and more wild animals.
@MontaneroAndariego
@MontaneroAndariego 3 года назад
@@theKhumbaguy, thank you very much. I think the Mukuni Big 5 is like a Zoo right? If is it, I am not really interested in that kind of places, I love to see the animals in their free environments! By the way, we are traveling from South America in two weeks and this will be our first trip to Africa!!! We are so happy! Another question and I am so sorry for that! Is there any possibility just to pass to the Zimbabwe side without stamping our passport, I am not saying we are going to victoria falls city, just to the other side of the bridge before the immigration point to see the falls from that side... The reason of this is because Zimbabwe isn´t issuing e-visas and I don´t qualify for the KAZA visa. By the way, do we need to buy the bus ticket the day before or is possible the same day because we will arriving from Kenya at 8:50 a.m. so I think we are going to buy the 1 p.m. Shalom bus... Another one, where we can change USA into Kwachas... or we can pay in every place in USD? Thanks againnnnn!!!
@theKhumbaguy
@theKhumbaguy 3 года назад
@@MontaneroAndariego yeah Mukuni Big 5 is like a park. So you can just go to the National Park which is wide and open. There are a lot of Bureau when you can change your money. The staff at the airport will be able to help you out easily. You can go to the bridge without stamping, but the area before the immigration there is not much you can see. You will actually have to go into Zimbabwe pay there to see their side of the falls.

Shame to see how the road had deteriorated since I last travelled on it. More reason the government should invest in the rail network. Good vid.
@theKhumbaguy
@theKhumbaguy 5 лет назад
Yeah the road Was terrible. I believe it has been worked on now and is much better. The new government SI requires more cargo to be transported by rail, and more mines and other companies like Zambia sugar and Maamba Coalieries are using rail more. Which is good. I hope that translates into improved rail passenger services as well.
