Luther sang straight from the depths of his angelic soul no BS that's the only valid explanation to describe vocally what he bestowed upon us on his journey, therapeutic to the consumer to say the least! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
During my wife Katheryn's lifetime, this song was used for our First Dance at our wedding. June 12, 2004. My wife Katheryn was diagnosed November 18, 2016 with familial ALS. She passed away July 20, 2019 This song means a lot more now.
Back in the days when singers could actually sing without the need of tools that could help them 🙌🙌🙌 Back when quality and art was HIGH. Those were the days ❤❤❤
@@nathannelson6843 You’re entitled to your opinion. I can’t see how you crowning Mariah the Queen. That’s already been done for Aretha Franklin sir. I have my favorites as well, but let’s not be bias.
@@malcolmeatman-goode8201 Yeah, and it's your opinion that Aretha Franklin is the Queen. Mariah Carey has had a more successful career than Aretha and has just as much worldwide respect as Aretha, and you couldn't prove that wrong in 100 years buddy.
My husband and I saw Luther Nov. 2, in Detroit. Joe Louis Arena. We were dating then. We got married in 1991 and Here & Now was our weddung Song. We have been married 31 years. I remember dancing to this song and thinking Luther was right there singing just for Us. We play this song every month on the 21st of each month because that's the day we got married, September 21, 1991. We dance to it every month and my husband sings along with Luther. Never gets old. I have a wonderful husband, yes I do tell him all the time but on the 21st of each month it's A very Special time we have FAITHFULLY shared for 31 yrs. We miss you Luther 🙏🌹💖
Wished I could have see him, Prince, MJ and Whitney while they were alive. There will never be another Luther. His voice was truly a gift and his music will never grow old. Still listening in 2020.
I was blessed to see him three times at Wembley (once front row), not bragging just agreeing with you that he was awesome. Also saw MJ but would have been better staying at home as I was so far back at the open air stadium that I couldn't even see the massive screens they put up. Saw Whitney several times too. She was INCREDIBLE!! That voice though. Never saw Prince. Ah the 80s. 😢
I saw The Jackson 5, then Michael, saw Prince, saw Luther, saw Aretha, Natalie all the greats but never saw Whitney (Biggest regret) Luther Vandross was, is & will always be the true king of R & B.
@@radiance65 I saw Luther 4 times in the UK. I was near the front at Wembley in 1989 - my favourite Luther show. Also, saw Phyllis Hyman and Teddy Pendergrass (a few weeks before his car accident) at Hammersmith Odeon.
Another performance of pure perfection! Every time he sang it was incredibly magical. So effortless, silky and smooth. He is like no other. Miss you Luther❤
He was _always_ consistent. From beginning to end. No other singer has come close vocally (exception of few) to what he has done. There'll never be another Luther. This is what _talent_ looks like.
So smooth. Complete control. So deliberate with his delivery. I love singers like him and Whitney who sing with sense of immense power they hold in reserve and only exploit the song at the right moment. True masters of their craft that make it look essy.
I was delusional at first because I thought he made playback in this, i had to listen to the OG record and this performance 4 TIMES BACK AND FORTH. HE FREAKING SOUNDS THE SAME. LIKE THE RECORD.
Luther had such confidence on stage Luther has such a kind, gentle voice in interviews. Glad I saw him on an episode of 227...acting. Wish to find more interviews of him.
Love this song my mother knew Him & his mother in person so that’s how I became friends with Luther Rest In Peace my friend yes honestly this guy is nice funny & always truthful, inspirational!
Rest Well Luther you shall always be remembered through your songs. Handsome good looking man with The Best Vocals. So smooth mello sexy R.I.PARADISE 🌹🌹🌹
Many thanks for the upload. Its more than a pleasure to come across new live material from Luther. I have heard the song countless times, but still never get tired of it. Any idea which awards show this was?
Your day will come. Remember don't settle. Know your worth. When the right one comes along and makes you feel as Special as this song, you will know. The right one is worth waiting for. I got married to the right guy at 33. He picked this song as our wedding song. He makes me feel so special and 31 years later married we still play and dance to this song 1 time a month on our Anniversary day, 21st. Please don't settle. One day, your best friend and husband will come and find you, ok you will find each other... 🌹💖🌹
I have to change his life for Luther Vandross and turn back time. I'll save him and help him exercise and look athletic. Help him prevent from diabetes. No more sweeten bad sugars.
My guess 1990. Then he gained weight in 1991, lost it in 92. Gained in 93, lost 94, gained 94, lost 95, gain 96 to 98. Lost 99-2001, gained middle 2001 to 2003.
