Yeah. The original decoration was kind of cheesy and simple in a lot of places. They should have upgraded it and made it more of a premium Egyptian theme. A lot of the primitive paintings that are part of the actual pyramid complex at Giza are simple cave painting style drawings. So the decor wasn't wrong. It just didn't have a luxurious feel to it. A sick looking high end Egyptian theme would have been the way to go in my opinion.

When I graduated college waaaay back in 1994, my Mother paid for me a trip for us to Vegas as a gift. We stayed at The Luxor. Since it was a long time ago my memories of our visit there are a bit foggy. However I do remember the buzzing activity of the casino floor. But the most vivid memory of all is the internal elevators that travel at a 45 (ish) degree angle sideways/upwards. That was super cool! Thanks for this video, it really brings me all the nostalgic feels!

Nice review. It’s a great value and the pyramid is so cool. Way more fun to stay in a pyramid room, but the tower rooms are nice. I totally agree with the other person that said it was a huge mistake to get rid of many Egyptian features. Why? That’s their theme! The only downside is you are on the far end of the strip but the free tram to Excalibur gives you a head start down the strip.

Literally when I visited, it was CREEPY.. It felt empty, depressing, quiet, and dark. Something was definitely off. I’ve heard rumors of suicide there

So grateful I stayed here before they ruined this place. At 2:17, that picture of the desert on the wall used to ancient Egypt themed. So glad I even took a picture of it!

The first and only time I’ve been to Vegas was in 2015 and I chose this hotel because it looked cool. Didn’t realize it was on the end of the strip.

Just fyi - no bathtub + no fridge is standard. You have to upgrade to a suite for those.

I BEEN TO THIS HOTEL BACK IN FEBUARY OF 2020 I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT BUT WOW I WAS ON THE 29TH FLOOR WHEN I CAME OUT MY ROOM TO GO TO STARBUCKS I LOOKED DOWN WHERE THE CASIONS MY GOD PEOPLE WERE TINY LOL I CANT WAIT TO VISIT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.

Excellent luxury architecture... perfect for future projects and for young generations very stylish i feel the true value of the artistic, historical, touristic and cultural landmark...i don't like alcohol but i love enjoying the panoramic views inside and out what abt the pool i love visiting sometimes i love the big pools

I walked through here during my stay at Mandalay Bay about a month ago. The theming is cool, but I wish there was more of it. It also feels kinda dark and drab inside, though it is cool that it is a pyramid. Just my first impression when I walked in from the Mandalay place shoppes. Are the pyramid rooms worth staying in, or is the tower that much better?

No, it is not considered a luxurious hotel when comparing it to the Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn , Aria, Encore, etc.. But if you stay in the Luxor you will probably do really well

It's nice, but it's not really luxurious anymore. It's very cheap now and it's a little janky inside. I just got back from vegas last month and I stopped in here - it's cool to stop by but I wouldn't stay here unless you're on a budget & still want to stay in a 'nice' hotel.

I’m going here in august too! 😂 I’ll be in the pyramid. It is at the end of the strip so it is a long walk to the other end, like Fremont street. However there is a bus service called “the deuce” which runs 24hours, stops at basically every hotel and buses come every 20 mins to half an hour or round about that. Apparently you can get a 3 day pass for $20. Definitely look into that as that’s what me and my mum will be doing. We might get the deuce right down to Fremont street then walk back which would take over 2 hours

People like to rag on this hotel for some reason but I think it's fine. It's a huge theme hotel on the far south strip but it still has plenty of amenities and provides a decent value. It's no longer 1995 and this is certainly not one of the premier hotels anymore. But if you are going to Vegas for the first time as a 20 something and on a limited budget you could do a lot worse in my opinion. And it's fine for an evening or two for anyone else really. At least it has it's own personality and character unlike a lot of the new high end strip resorts that are luxurious but bland and overpriced without any real identity. I don't want to name names but you know what I'm saying.

As a huge fan of themed entertainment, the death of theming in Las Vegas has always struck me really hard. I don’t know who’s dumb ass idea it was to strip out all the theming and replace it with more generic slop.

I disagree. I love the ambiance. I feel comfortable there. I always get an upgraded suite, so We have plenty of room and nice amenities. Better food court than mandalay bay, and not as much walking. Love Tender.
