This was WONDERFUL. Your videos are so much more diverse, and intimate... you show us (non-Japanese) so much more than many other Japanese videos! I am very grateful for your work!
What a beautiful, sacred experience - following the older ways of doing things. Thank you for sharing this with us. Your rice porridge at the end looked so delicious.
This is such a cool place! It's great to explore older Japanese culture on your own and there's so much to see and experience! The care-taker has created an unforgettable environment!
The thing I absolutely love about your videos is how you capture the sounds of the environment. It helps me to picture being there in my mind. I actually felt so relaxed after watching this video.
Wow, this was really interesting! Seeing how people had to do things in the past makes you very grateful for the advancements and ease we have today. Thank you for sharing!
It‘s something special to immerse yourself in nature and in such an inn that is reminiscent of old times and traditions. thanks for this great video that is really worth seeing .The simplicity and the backdrop of nature impress me. Thank you and kind regards from Germany .
What a great video and great experience. This island beside having unique & luxurious sightseeing train, it also have unique Inn with traditional experience.
The most memorable place I have seen in videos of Japan. A truly romantic hideaway and such a shame you were on your own .. felt for you sadly. You have captured the pure essence of Medieval style Japan with captivating shots of everything in site. Remember if you play with fire .. you can get burnt ..lol. Thank you for sharing this epic adventure. Bushyboy Oz.
I wish that we have something like this inn in our country. But unfortunately we don't have any. I hope that I can visit Japan as soon as possible. Another quality content. Love from Bangladesh 💖💖
The place looks very interesting I'm but of a history nerd. My arthritis would not allow me to stay at places like that. Thank you for taking us with you.
This was a very interesting segment. I don't think it is something I'd want to do on my vacation but I did find it interesting. I found it funny how "Hotel California" was playing in the background during breakfast lol. I think it must be very fun for the owner to meet and be up close and personal with his guests. You did good at chopping wood. I loved the outdoor bath, too bad it never warmed up enough.
I wondered how long she left it to boil the water though as wood heated ones often take up to an hr plus you have to keep it red hot the wood like literally keep loading it till hot then you let it get to embers ( same theory when you have a western type fireplace with a wetback -- which is a pipe that heats hot water from the fireplace but ya have to keep it on and stoked hot not just 20 mins or so .. and keep adding wood .. maybe the innkeeper needed to be there at the fireplace for an hr or her sitting next to it) hence why bathwater was just like warm prob not on long enough or kept red hot stoked
I enjoyed the faint background "Souvenir" at 2:54! I think I would find a visit to this inn to be most pleasant -- I'd bring my children so they could do the wood-chopping, though!
Wow this is so cool. It's like going camping old Japanese style and learning all about the culture especially those who have travel from other countries and check out that view. Quite lovely. I like to visit Japan one day.
What a fascinating and unique experience. Japan has the most sophisticated toilets in the world, and using a ladle to flush one was really something to see. Well done on the wood chopping too.😁👍
This looks utterly fascinating, and it looks like you enjoyed yourself too, idk if i'll ever get the chance to visit or do something similar myself but i'm glad you showed us all what it would be like
Thank you very much for your videos. I will never be able to travel there, your vidoes are very educational and enjoyable. I have never eaten some the things you show, but they make me very hungry.
Wonderful old inn. And your host is your dinner companion too!👴 Itsuka-san is either an experienced camper or a country girl. That wood splitting and fire-building was done with style!🪵 I might need to spend some time in the liquor room.😆The nighttime view was beautiful. Thank you, Itsuka-san. Another unusual and fascinating video!💚
No she said she had never wood chopped before lol she attempted to try and one hand it ( maybe film with one hand?) That will never happen it's a 2 handed job and you need to swing with force nothing delicate about woodchopping but she have it a good go ...
7:06 I'm assuming the "Do Not Point the Blowtorch at People" is geared toward us Americans. "Remember, it takes 90 minutes for an ambulance to get here". They might need to write that bigger. 🤣🔥🚑
And... The have negligible (little to none) Scandinavians or Russians, cause they do not have "Do not use the hatchet to pose as Berserker" warnings :)
I wondered what he inn keeper was saying to you he seemed to chat a lot shame was no subtitles on what he was discussing he had a beautiful soft voice lol
