@@dude81869 I realize Im a year late on this response. But I love coco-apricot wax and I have had good results with CD-4-6 wicks on small containers (2-2.75") and cd-8 on medium (3"). I add color and fragrance to all my candles.
This is just superb, I have been researching "aztec candle and soap making supplies" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (do a search on google ) ? It is a great one of a kind product for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my m8 got great success with it.
Winner of a video, been searching for "how do you fix a candle that won't stay lit?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Peyadison Peerless Prestige - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to make candles for fun or money without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 got excellent success with it.
I've been struggling with chronic illness for the past 2.5years and unable to work, so looking to try something that I can do from home that I love and could potentially make some income down the line. Thank you for creating such informative videos - as a complete beginner, I now feel I have the knowledge to start creating test candles. Thank you for giving me the inspiration and motivation to try something new and put my heart in to
Hi. first time i've commented on RU-vid but I just wanted to say that your honesty, dedication and love for what you do shines through there is no bs. about you. Thank you for giving me faith in myself that maybe I can do this.
I’m so happy you did this. I just ordered the same luxury candle supplies and was asking around if anyone had used it. Thank you so much for all your teaching. I learn so much from your videos.
Hi Tim I thanks for showing the difference between luxury candles and regular candles. I been learning alot from you about candle making. I made my first large order and i think it was preyty successful in large part to you leaving these tutorials. Thank you for you willingness to share. Lolita of Coolzan Custom Designs New company in the making
I am an up and coming candle maker, my specialty being hand dipped chime candles of all sorts of colors. I'm working on getting shipping and packaging supplies currently but I've got my recipe and my rig so I hope to take off soon. Money is super tight. Thank you for all the work you do and share, I always enjoy your videos and I've learned a lot from watching! :)
You Dear Sir, are the reason I haven't wasted a gazillion dollars starting my candle business... Only maybe $500.... Or so lol. I GOT this now,! because of your very well done videos, I actually know how to figure my costs, use the "Alex method" and bought a Presto spouted wax warmer, a life changer. I started my business in April 2018 I've never done anything on social media. I thought Facebook was a time-wasting brag site, I didn't even know how to add a comment to your video without looking it up first- totally sad. Like you I am grateful for a very supportive spouse. I had a very high stress worklife, and an adorable family that I didn't get to spend enough time cherishing. leaving the corporate world seemed next to impossible but THERE IS LIFE OUT THERE!! I am so relaxed, fun-loving, happy and I finally love what I do. I owe a lot of that to you, your videos inspired me to stick with it! I've even attempted Instagram..eeeek @nittygrittygifts among so many other things. I am within driving distance of Lone Star Candle Co so I do a lot of business with them, I'm so lucky! BUT I have many friends that have VERY high-end favorite candle fragrances I wasn't able to find so, thanks to you, I've branched out to other companies on your recommendations and have been very pleased with a different level of fragrances out there...I use eco-soya 415 and have experimented with other Lone Star waxes but I am too thrifty to spend $ on shipping. I've never even heard of apricot wax so if I don't win, I'll order some anyway.. I do have a question for you, Have you heard of a fragrance called "Mary Spiked the Punch?" I've searched and searched - I'm going to Lab Co & Rustic Essentials sites but if you know of other high end fragrance co that you can mention in your next video that would be fantastic! A very big fan, Karen
@@TimberRidgeGifts that's a very specific percentage. Ha. Keep it up. Love your videos. You've definitely inspired me to branch out and try new things. Especially that beer candle I keep seeing
You always give great information about suppliers. It gives me lots to think about when it comes to research materials and supplies. Your channel is a great learning tool. Thanks a ton!
I found your channel through research of my up and coming candle company and your channel really popped out at me as the clear professional channel, you have videos on almost everything i ca think of about anything candle relate! Thanks TIm :))
I don't know if I'll ever make a candle but I love your channel. Thank you for the excellent collection of videos. I found you by accident a couple of weeks ago when looking up "how to make your own silicone molds." I subscribed immediately!
I can't tell you how happy I am when I see your name pop up in my subscription box. Your videos are informative and realistic. I find that too many other youtube videos are " Make money as easy as ABC!" without any actual information on the cost, production and trials of candle making.
I just found Lab & Co supplies the other day! I have recently reignited my interest in candle making and I'm so excited about it! I've been binge watching your vids because of it :) I'm so glad you covered this because I have a huge interest in doing a luxury candle line, so this was so informative! Would love to try that FO for sure! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you so much for doing these videos! They really help keep me motivated as I'm starting out in the candle world. I like your no-nonsense, common sense approach.
Great video! While there is a definite difference between the two candles, I think there is a way to combine both together and develop a high-end candle at a lower price. You are spot on with your analysis of the development of a high end candle collection. It does cost A LOT of money! Thanks again, I really enjoy all of your videos!
I'm interested in selling candles (figure candles and whatnot). I'm really glad I found your channel to give me ideas on the basics. This is the first candle making video I've seen so far :)
I’m just getting started with my candle business and refer back to your videos a lot! You have a heart of a teacher! Thanks for sharing and Thank you for your service.
I am grateful to the candle making lessons you provide us,Tim! Making candles for fun at the moment and always challenging myself creatively. The difference in the candle waxes is what was a complete surprise to me in terms of what “Luxury” candles do and perhaps a selling point for non paraffin base? By the way I am a hobbyist and selling soaps part time, Rice Face Soapery is my shop name :) cheers👍🏽
Congrats! You have been chosen as the winner of the giveaway for the Luxury Candle Making Kit from Lab & Co! Please contact me at TimberRidgeCandles@yahoo.com with your contact information so I can get it in the mail to you.
I’m knew to candle making. Only used the GE 464and really like it. I starting using this one after watching your video. This is very informative. Thank you for the comparison
Just getting started with making candles and thrilled to have found your channel. This is my first video of yours to watch and already you're answering important questions. A bit late for the giveaway, but it's a win because I'm expecting to be learning lots from your other videos. Please keep them coming and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for this, I'm in the process of starting my own luxury candle company. I've been trying different wax blends but I haven't tried this one yet.
I just found your channel not to long ago. I'm new to candle making and soap making. I'd love to have this kit to experience the luxury candle smells. one day I'll be able to afford to make this type of candle. thank you for sharing as always
Hi! I am starting my candle business soon and I have referred to your videos several times. Thanks for all the useful info you add. Please do making such great videos. And I would love to receive one of the candle kit. Thanks again! :)
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing all your hard earned knowledge. As a new subscriber, I’ve been binge watching your videos. Super informative, helpful content! And so very much appreciated.
Thank you Tim for the awesome info. The result is not really surprising given that better quality ingredients generally produce a better quality product, but saleability will entirely depend on your market. Personally for items that do not have a long lifespan, I will always go for the rustic value product which for me, gives a better value for money. Thanks again. xx
I love your videos. Super helpful and informative for beginners. I saw on a Facebook group someone suggested adding 1 tbsp of coconut oil to 1 lb of 464 wax to help improve the HT/CT. It would be really cool if you could do a video to see if it works!
I'm new at candle making and just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge on how to make a great candle. I will be looking for more of your videos.
I just started watching your videos and so far I’m very pleased. I’m looking to make some candles for the holidays and your videos are right on time. TFS all your knowledge.
I have bought Jo Malone Fragrances for my Soy Candles, but its hard to sell and I have also made Body Butters with their oils as well, its hard to sell at a good price that I can make money. Thank you so much for this video, I am a newbie of 3 months trying to get my business off the ground. I appreciate you sir.
Hi Tim, Thank you for your videos! I’m new to candle making and have learned a lot from watching your videos! I appreciate all the time and work it takes to create good content and sharing your craft with us!
Great video. I learned so much! I did have to turn my volume all the way up bc there seemed to be alot of echo from the room you are in and I couldn't hear your voice very clear. Ill have to watch some of your other videos, you are very knowledgeable and fun to watch! Thanks!
Hello! Great video showing the comparison of a luxury candle vs. a regular candle. This was a very detailed yet to the point video. Thank you for making this.
You sir, are a wonderful teacher! I have learned SO much about candle making from watching your tutorials. Many, many thanks for taking the time to do them 😇 I am just staring out in candle making and my main concern is choosing the right wick! I’ve watched your amazing video regarding this topic and have done my own testing but am wondering if you have a go to “recipe” (e.g. 8oz mason jars tend to always use “x” sized wick)? I’m sure colorants and fragrance oils factor in, but...what is the one you use most? Thank you!!!
Carmen Nili I would really love to know that too! That’s been my hardest thing so far in my research is choosing the right wick for different candle sizes and shapes.
Good question! As a general rule, you can follow a "recipe." Meaning that the same size wick will generally work for all candles of that size. Color and type of fragrance oil can affect it as you go from one F/O to the next. Testing is still important, but usually if it works for one, it will work for most others.
Another great video!!! I’ve been making candles for several years and learn something new from each of your videos. Always look forward to the next video. Keep up the good work!
This was a very interesting video. It seems like if you just upgrade your container you basically can have a budget "luxury candle" since the scent was just personal preference and the performance was pretty even.
Hi, I’ve just recently subscribed to your channel as I would like to start making my own candles. I’ve found you to be honest, direct and easy to listen to. I really enjoyed your comparison on the luxury candle as it shows although it’s impressive to have a luxury candle the functionality is not so different! I’m from Australia and unfortunately we don’t have the degree of choice as you have but I am keen to check out a few you have mentioned and see if they ship to Australia. Thanks for sharing 🤗
I really appreciate your videos. I’m looking to start candle making and several of your videos have answered questions I had. I subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to check out more of your content. Thanks again.
I am a 19 year old soon to be mother and my dream is to start my own candle business in Indianapolis called metanoia candles with hidden treasures inside and crystal toppings paired with spiritual organic scents. This video helped me put a lot into perspective of what i should put my money towards and what direction i want to go, this video is honestly the start to my journey, i want to continue to learn and plan and save, I want my business to be supper successful but I know it starts with baby steps and I have yet to make my first candle!
YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY ! YOU MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE ARM SERVICES CAUSE YOU ARE QUICK YOUNG MAN. MADE ME LAUGH LIKE IF IT WAS MAGIC, WHEN YOU MOVED A BIT FAST. LOVE YOUR PRESENTATION AND I HAVE ONLY SEEN HALF. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND SHARING . NOW GOING BACK TO FINISH !
Thanks for the candle review. Nice to know there is very little difference in the candles. I guess it's all about personal tastes. I like the appearance of jar candle better. I can fit that jar into any seasonal decor by adding a wreath, our a couple gords, or an ivy wrap, etc, etc... around the base, or just beside it to fit any holiday or occasion. I can't do that with that dark jar.
Thanks for the great video. I always look forward to your next video. Could you do a video about different avenues for selling/marketing candles and what the different challenges are to each of the methods?
I touched on some of those issues in my video "How to start a candle business" but am planning one later this fall showing set up for festivals and craft shows.
I am a new subscriber. I was looking for a way to make wax melts & came across your channel. I'm Hooked. I'm binge watching &making wax melts this weekend.&as soon i as get some supplies, i will be making my own candles.🤗😊🤗Thank you for sharing this info.
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm just getting started in this business and you have inspired me more than words can say. Kudos for all of the informative and helpful tips!
Wow 😮 How Grateful Am I that I clicked on Your channel!!! Gods plan & Purpose, I suppose!! I was just cruising the internet ALL DAY 2day in Search Of Candle Manking👌I currently Make Handmade Soap & It’s Peeked MY Interest LONG Enough.... I’m Beyond Ready to Start😊 Thk you for Sharing yr Experiment & Being So Informative!! I’m A Newbie @ I Love to Learn.
Thanks for making another great video! Very interesting topic. How about comparison videos to top chain candle businesses such as yankee candle, village candle, White barn or BBW candles, etc? Do you have a video over 3-wick candles? I also have a suggestion via a video on different wood wicks, types, where to get, etc. Keep up the great work Tim!
I feel like this video is one of those where “wait what IS the difference?” Lol like it’s one of those questions you didn’t even think about before but now that you’ve seen it, it’s really intriguing! I learned a lot and this video was cool to watch!
Hello! Just clicked the subscription button!☺ Your video popped up as I was looking at other candle videos. You explain things very well compared to others I have watched. I believe I will be binge watching your other videos this weekend. Thank you for the tips!
Great video as always bubba... Helpful info... U do u'r homework... And I appreciate that... U've inspired me to start my own candle business... You ever think of being a mentor...? Keep up the good work...
Not sure about mentoring, but I've got some great videos planned, and I try to be as responsive as I can to answer every one's questions. Thanks for watching!
Another awesome video! This might even be one of favorites since I’ve been struggling with deciding on doing high end candles. Would love to see a video of doing a high end looking candle on a budget. I’ve started painting my jars to make them look more luxury. There’s also a new company called Dream Vessels that sell luxury containers. A review on them would be great! Your videos are so enjoyable and informative.
I'll have to check them out! Not sure if I can come up with a budget friendly way of making these. Luxury isn't something that you can usually cut corners on. I don't often shop for high end stuff lol, but I gotta figure that someone who buys a $100 candle would be able to tell if it wasn't a true $100 candle.
Timber Ridge Gifts my thoughts weren’t to make a product to fool customers, but simply to make a good candle with a higher end look. The price point would reflect what I put into it. I just think a candle can look like a higher end candle without the high price. I’ve been trying to come up with ways to make glassware look higher end and also looking at other types of containers.
I am recharching everything about making candels and this video realy helps me a lot. I am only subsribet to your chanel for a few weeks, but i have learned a ot from you, thanks!
