Hello. I don’t fly so I don’t travel. And since we have a dog with special needs we don’t even go overnight anywhere. But I think traveling and making memories is so important. I just can’t get past my fear of flying. So this is how I justify spending on bags. Not a good excuse. Such a high feeling when the box is delivered. Lol. But you’re 100% right. Material things do not make us happy for more than an hour. Beautiful scarf! TFS😊

Fair enough, Cami. We all gotta enjoy life somehow. As long as we are responsible with our finances ❤️Some people choose to have no kids so that they can have more disposable income and that’s ok too.

Great topic Dani! I’m very blessed to say I’ve done both in my life and the older I get, the more I treasure the memories of my travelling and experiencing different cultures with my family more than any handbags I’ve ever bought. I know on my death bed, those are the memories I’ll always be grateful for. I’ll always love handbags and enjoy looking at them but I don’t get the urge or feel the need to buy anymore. Just want to enjoy the ones I have and use, and start selling off those that are gathering dust. Thanks for sharing Dani and hope you’re keeping well! 🌹🥰

I love this video! I went to grad school and my first “big girl job” and pandemic timing coincided so that life style creep increased tremendously. And I did a 8-mo no buy last year because I realized I was in the scarcity mindset my entire life. Going from overconsumption of fast fashion and drugstore makeup to buying luxury bags and makeup. That 8-mo no buy really helped me reset that and appreciate what I have. But during that time I really turned to travel and wanting to do more of that! So this year is def trying to balance purchases with having great experiences of travel. So thanks for sharing your thoughts since it literally reflects what I went through the last few years too 💕

Thinking back to when I was young, single, no children, in undergrad and grad school, even early career, I did so much solo travel. Meeting so many people, traveling really cheaply, getting into wild situations that, looking back, were kind of dangerous. The young version of myself actually had disdain for the pricey way of traveling, and felt sorry for the rich Americans sequestered up in some fancy hotel, having come all this way to only spend most of their time with other rich Americans (I'm American). I'd spend weeks, months, traveling, studying, working abroad. I had zero concept of 'luxury handbags' at that time, not even on the radar. Now that I'm older, married, two kids, full time job, I can't travel like that. Super Dacob says the true luxury is time. I literally do not have the time to travel like I used to. But getting a handbag does not really take too much time, does it? Also, traveling becomes suckier and suckier as time goes on, with airplane seating and delays and security, and traveling with kids is hard. I still like to travel, in the fancier way I once had disdain for, but many times I don't really have a choice of traveling or a bag, because I don't have the choice to travel as much as I would if time were not a constraint. Given the time constraint, I can travel as much as my time allows (not a lot) and still afford a bag.

I can totally relate! If we had no time, it is hard to enjoy anything. I used to be tolerant of harsher travelling conditions too but now I do want to have my creature comforts. And with kids in tow, there’s no choice but to at least ensure we travel safely. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your perspective 😊😊❤️

Hi Dani! I think you can do both! I live to travel and I also haven’t done much since the pandemic. I also have my cats to take care of and it’s hard to board them. I have spent more on bags during this time, too, but that doesn’t mean I would give them up for travel. They are not mutually exclusive, and you can certainly buy bags while traveling, so there’s that! All things in moderation. 😊

Great video Dani! I used to be team „buy the bag“ - because of the same reasons you mentioned. Planning a trip & packing for it, can be quite stressfull 🙈 But I love a good travel every once in a while aswell 😁

Such a great topic to discuss, Dani! I've actually travelled a lot more since the pandemic (maybe it's because we couldn't for so long) - but I also get tempted to buy when I'm away due to the tax refunds and overall lower prices. If I did have to choose between a handbag and travel though, I would 100% choose travel as I love it so much. Thanks for making me think! 😀 I completely get what you mean with the items not actually making us happy, and that is the reason I have stopped shopping nearly as much as I used to.

I can totally understand, Jas. on your end of the world, shopping is really difficult to resist. I always think that I need to be good to save up to go to Europe to shop. The thing is though usually the trip itself is so expensive once I get there I haven’t got enough funds to buy that much.😆 to a degree, that’s probably a good thing. Hope you’re keeping well, Jas. I can relate to coming back from vacation, feeling down and then wanting to book another trip. So true and funny how the flip side is shopping, receiving the item, and wanting another dopamine hit. It’s all a perpetual cycle 🥴😵‍💫 I want a healthy balance of both, but at the moment, I would love to travel more.

Love this topic Dani! My first love is traveling and will always be. I do love luxury hand bag too, but never felt that FOMO, nor the obsession of hunting the next “it” bag until the pandemic. It was very tiring. Last year, I stepped back. Refocused on traveling, and visited places on our bucket list . But you’re right, balance is the key. I felt a bit burned out from traveling. We have 11 people family travel coming up with different ages and I’m wiped from planning . All I can think of are the handbags. 😂😄😂. Already bought couple of bags and I’m on low buy. Oh well, that’s why I did not say No Buy! 😂😂😂. I love ❤️ the Coach denim drop and they sell out on me last year. Not gonna happen again.

What a great subject Dany! I used to travel a lot more, and only purchase one handbag a year! And honestly that would make me really happy! This video just made me realize that 🤔 Both things can be addictive and expensive!! (Traveling & Handbags) Covid made me rely a little more on handbags. And since I lost my children babysitter, I stopped traveling so much and buying more handbags! Flying with a big family gets quite expensive. Anyway, I could keep going on on 😅 But I’ll stop here! So right, Iris. When there are young children or elderly family, big trips can be really stressful. Sometimes just thinking about packing for the trip makes me want to buy a handbag.😆 And it sounds like you need another babysitter. I hope you find a suitable candidate. They make all the difference, and worth their weight in gold🙌🙌

I only bought one bag (alright…it was a Birkin, but still “just” one bag) last year but booked a bucket list vacation that I went on earlier this year. Where I’m at right now, I am prioritizing traveling. But that may very well change again at some point.

I bought much more than that in 2022. I used to say, travel. But I guess, it's situational..it depends whom you're travelling with, where and how much it costs you? And now that I'm into bags, it changed from Travel to a Bag 😂 can't blame me Dani lol. I always say, memories with your loved ones can never be replaced and rewind. I’m team balance 😆 unfortunately what I have noticed that during the years my spending habits on both bags and travelling has gotten worse meaning I’m now spending more on better hotels & my dream bags are a lot more expensive than they used to be 😅😂😂 but if I had to choose between being able to go only on one trip or to only buy one bag this year I’d pick the travelling!

I prefer paying for a bag than a holiday because it’s never truly a “holiday”. It’s a tiresome endeavour, the planning, packing, and making sure everything at home is properly set up for my absence, and then getting things back in order upon returning 😅. The joys of owning a handbag, though, can be sustained for a longer period than the duration of the vacation itself. Probably a nonsensical statement to some people but I’m going with that 🤣

Hiyew Dani i remember last year i asked my partner are we travelling this year? And when he said no...boom i got an my Alma Bb worldtour. But right now (since i feel my bag collection is complete) I would choose travel vs. bag. If there is a bag i would fall In love during the trip it it would be a bonus for me (and should also within my price range) i cant wait to share my recent holiday and what amazing bonus i got 🥰🥰🥰
