So these are the things I don't use..... but probably still love irrationally anyway.....in some cases....
As I got ready to do this I saw Minks4all had uploaded the same video...I'm going to check hers out now- if I watched it prior to making mine I'm sure I'd just want to copy!
I feel like I need to break out from the dressing room background a little so my vlog will be up in the next few days- where I will be in front of other backgrounds....sometimes.....

My husband's grandmother had lovely things. At the end of her life they weren't in perfect shape -chips, marks, scratches etc. I was so impressed because it meant that she had beautiful things and she actually used them. Use your trench, get the scarf cleaned. I appreciate your videos because you are honest about your items. I'd love to have a Chanel brooch and a designer belt but your experience has given me reason to hold back. I have absolutely no waist and haven't worn a belt since I had my children. Thanks for sharing this.

Wear the trench!! It drives me crazy when people don’t wear the things they spend so much money on?! Life’s too short and theses things were meant to be worn, otherwise, why buy them??

She has too many and can only wear one thing at a time lol. And her favorites probably top the list most of the time. I'll take them off her for cheap, Meaning I will collect anytime she says the word.. :)

I know exactly what you mean about the Chanel brooch! I love luxury brands, and I don't mind wearing something with a logo on it, but I don't like the feeling of just wearing a logo. It feels like I'm just trying to impress someone by saying, "I can afford something from Chanel." I would wear a Chanel brooch or earrings that was maybe a flower with a small CC logo somewhere on it, just not the CC by itself! (No judgement for anyone who does, though, because I love them on other people!)

Hi Emma, 2 suggestions for you. Have youb tried using the Chanel brooch with a jean jacket? That may help you not feeling the way you do when you wear it with a blazer. Regarding the Gucci belt (I have the same one and love it) try wearing it with jeans and an oversized blouse or t-shirt and just tuck the top a bit in the front so you can see the belt, leaving the rest of the top untucked. This is what I do as I don't like the way I look with the top tucked in and belt from the back.

50plusluxurystyle Hi, You gave her an amazing advice, that I will take! I have a Chanel brooch that I don't use for a similar reason, and this really gave me a good idea to pair it with a red denim jacket.... Thank you ❤️😘☺️

Shes giving an honest review on the practicality of expensive items. She isn't complaining. People spend thousands on these things and want to know if other people got a lot of wear and longevity out of an item.

Sarah Eells Don't even try to reason with her. People get triggered by these videos, I see it all the time. No amount of logic will make them think otherwise. People spend money on luxury items, and that's their choice because it's their money. Yet somehow, it will always trigger these kinds of reactions from people. It's ridiculous, really.

I really enjoyed his video! I do have two suggestions regarding the louboutins if you are open to them! For one thing, the louboutin sole does wear off, but there is an official louboutin cobbler that can put in red rubber soles on them. They’re called Minuit Moins 7 and they can resole your louboutins if you break them or wear them down, but they also have the official anti-slip rubber soles! (I know other cobblers can do Vibram or Topy soles but I think since you are in the UK you can go all the way, the store is in London). The rubber sole will make it easier to walk in, but you’ll likely need to break it in, I find wearing socks with my pairs break them in just fine! Like about 30min with thick socks a night for a week. You can hazard a hair dryer to hasten the process but i’m personally afraid to do that. They’re really not too bad once they’ve broken in! I honestly thought my chanel FLATS were pretty bad to break into in comparison! Could be the shape of my foot though (my feet are more comfortable in pigalles than the simples).

Get the cobbler to put a piece of red anti slip rubber on the bottom of the heels, not only you can protect it from further damage but it would be more comfortable to wear as you know the grip will be more stable.

Also try to he's shoe stretchers. There is spray you spray inside the shoe and then put the shoe stretchers in and crank them wider until you can't crank anymore and they should be more comfortable. Also stick to grain leather and not patent leather. Patent tends to be more stiff and uncomfortable.

I totally understand the brooch no wearing issue. I wanted to get one, but was worried the bigger one would be too much, trying to hard etc..... I have three Chanel inspired coats / jackets so thought it would work, but £300 + is a lot to spend on something I'm not sure about. Two months ago I bought a Chanel pin from Etsy, it came from France. I think it may be an old sales associates ....

If you still want Louboutin shoes I recommend the 70mm simple pumps. They are so comfortable. I’m not a heel person, but I can wear them an entire evening without problems. My strategy for items I’m not comfortable with yet is to wear them for a week straight. By then I know if I need to sell it, but most of the time I have started to love the piece.

I carried it non-stop for a full year and finally forced myself to switch it up...my home burned to the ground the next night and I lost EVERYTHING. I'll never get over it. Yes before you give up on your scarf, try having it dry cleaned. It is worth trying to see if then you get enjoyment out of it. I like to wear a broach but placed in an unusual spot like towards the bottom of a sweater or I like it on a 2 button blazer as the third button. I have a family piece that worn traditionally feels to stuffy to me but if I place it somewhere unexpected than I feel it is more updated and less conventional. Yours I could see wearing as a belt buckle. Wear your items, enjoy them and use them. As nice as it is to look at these things they are meant to be worn.

Very refreshing with an honest video :) If I may - I do have a few suggestions for some of the items if you still have them hanging around and want to give them a last try: wider belts work really well on loose fit dresses such as shift dresses. The belt can be cinched in where you are the narrowest, and the dress will puff a bit, giving a beautiful hourglass silhouette and making the belt seem smaller. The brooch is quite light in colour and can look weird on darker coloured clothes. Many fake clothing items will have a contrasting coloured logo, which is why this brooch easily gives the same impression. Try wearing it on a white/cream/off-white jacket or a thick scarf of the same colour - it will make less of a contrast. As for the Burberry jacket - snags, pulls or loose threads can easily be fixed by a seamstress - I would give it a shot given its value and timeless style. Hope this helps a bit :)

Don’t stop using the Dior moisturiser, lovely -if you break the packaging, decant the rest of the product into something else. If you leave it too long the product won’t work as effectively.

I totally understand about the brooch! I had a Chanel brooch a couple of years ago, and I remember being so excited to pair it with my best gold jewelry. RE: Skin care - I now avoid pots altogether. They get contaminated so easily with your fingers. I used to use a spatula to get the product out but then I have to wipe the spatula with alcohol to clean and disinfect and it just gets to be too much of a hassle. Skin care products in pump or tube forms keep the products fresher and cleaner.

I totally understand your issue with the Chanel brooch. I had earrings that made me feel the same way. Large, double C's in gold. Looked amazing on others but I felt like a child who had raided her mum's jewellery box... and everyone assumed they were fake!!! After 5 years of not wearing them I clipped them on to some pumps. Everyone then thought I had Chanel shoes. The Designer route is somewhat difficult sometimes :) x

I wear my Chanel broach on a black wool peacoat. It’s on the lapel so I can flip it up or down as I please. I just keep it on the coat all the time while it’s in my closet and i wear it most often with jeans and casual shoes and it makes any outfit feel a little special. You don’t have to be dressed up or have on a special outfit to wear it :)

What I learned from this video: 1. Rich people worry a lot about really tiny "problems". 2. The quality of some high end designer pieces is horrible. I'm appalled that some items cost so much only to break after using them once or twice is the intended way. Shoes that scuff from a short walk, scarves that stain from a drop a water and moisturizer pots that break from being opened and closed, are utterly and completely useless and I wouldn't even spend 5€ on them.

Ebay will be your best friend!! Why are you keeping these pieces if you dislike them so much/never use & enjoy them? Why not just sell them to someone who'd love them? This not only will add to your savings fund but also clear up space in your collection AND whoever you sell them to will probably love them and love saving the money on their pre-loved piece (especially the ones that have never been used!). I can't believe the quality of those Louboutin's soles.. luxury brands screw up sometimes and use low quality materials and cutting corners really damages the brand's name. PS. Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your collection.

Hello, I'm late to the party with this comment, but I laughed out loud when you brought up our Chanel brooch.I have the same issue. I like brooches in general, and like the Chanel look, and was SO excited when I got mine, but I also never wear it, because I'm afraid people will think I'm showing off. Interestingly, I have no problem wearing my Chanel bag, Hermes scarf, etc. BUT because most women here are very casual and brooches are rare, I feel like it might be too much, because it's such an obvious logo. I wouldn't think that if I saw someone else wear it, I'd wish I had the guts to wear mine! I should just get over it, I suppose!

Thank you for another great video! I also have a Chanel brooch that I’ve had for two years and only worn twice. Once on a jumper (sweater for us Americans), and once on a pearl necklace. Both times I felt like I’m just not cool or fashionable enough to pull it off. So it’s been sitting in my jewelry box ever since. It’s just my own hang up. I somehow think I’ve got to be stick figure thin and look like a fashion model before anyone could possibly take me seriously in it.

I think patent leather shoes are really hard on the feet. I had to break in my Louboutin's Bianca for a few days at home, while doing chores lol, before taking them on the road. Also, the shop in Jakarta where i got it from offered me a sole protector, at a cheap price. It's a white thin rubber-like material that will be stick on to the sole (just the landing part). It's amazing. But i still avoid gravel and little holes where the heels can get caught and ruin the leather lining. And one more thing, Bianca has rounded toe so i can use it for hours but i have a 120 height, my feet swell after hours of use. Nice video, as usual! Love your humor! 😊

I too have a chanel brooch that has been in my drawer for years and never worn for the exact same reason you have given. I never could bring myself to wear it because like you say, it just seems very pretentious.

I have definitely made a few purchases that weren't the best for me. I believe I've gotten better :) My skincare favorites are La Roche-Posay and CeraVe - really great products at the drug store/high street that really work. They really have helped my sensitive skin.

Because the other comment was so long, but I have so many thoughts i’ll put it here! I also feel super awkward about the branding on brooches, it feels like i’m trying to brand myself?? I guess if I owned chanel clothing i’d wear a chanel brooch. I have been attracted to the anchor styles from the Paris Hamburg meteors d’art collection, the CC is a little less obvious, the particular color and style combo I loved wasn’t available in my country so i’m just living without for now, until I come across something else I like quite as much! Maybe you’ll also like they’re slightly pricier but less obviously branded styles? I think you should definitely get your stained clothing items cleaned! I don’t own luxury prices silk scarves but both cashmere and silk (I own Burberry cashmere scarves) can be hand washed in cold water carefully! I personally hand wash all my silk clothing with The Laundress delicates detergents (I also wash my cashmere in their cashmere detergent), and then steam them after!

Great video and such a shame you don't use the Burberry as its so beautiful. I tried on some Chanel wocs and I was surprised actually how I would rather have the smaller bag than the woc (although I have yet to be able to get my Chanel yet other than the freebie they gave me which is to me so special ) 👜🌸

To get some wear out of your Channel broach tie a silk scarf on one of your Channel bags and add the broach to the scarf it's a gorgons way to use the broach and so beautiful on the bag.

Dior skincare has fragrance and colour in it and is not suitable for irritated skin. Also has a lot of parabens and preservatives. I use a cream that is anti inflamatory and made with a kind of silver that is not absorbed by the skin but that heals skin and inflamation.

I love your videos so much - I’m exactly the same as you- in hindsight I really wonder why I’ve bought certain things- and wasted such an extraordinary amount of money! Lucky there is a resale market!

I have never tried them but I saw a commercial for size customizable sticky pads you put on the bottom of your designer shoes that is supposed to protect the sole from rubbing off

I don’t mean to impose. My name in Rosalina , I am a dermatologist from Toronto Canada. Rosacia is a disease, it is a long term skin condition. Out of many skin conditions it it unequivocally the most sensitive to contact dermatitis ( products on skin ) using Dior products you are applying virtually expensive perfume on your skin. That’s all you are doing. Respectfully refrain from perfumed skin care To slow aging and potentially permanently aggravating your you skin. With Rosacia , less is more. Simple cleanser simple lotion.

Hi Emma, Sorry if it's already been said, but louboutin Manchester gave me details of a cobbler who does a red rubber sole. They told me to wear the shoes a few times first as it will adhere better! Xx

If I might make a suggestion, you could re-pot the Dior skin care item in a different container that you feel more comfortable opening and closing. If it works and you really want to use it daily that would be one way to do it. Something glass with a screw top. You can order a special container, or clean and sterilize something you already have. Hope that helps!
