Thanks for watching! These lights look nice and do a great job. It was harder to tell because of the wet roads compared to other videos I've done. If you like this MDX, check out the night review of the new TLX here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ISJjviY5fKM.html
My only problem is that Freakin touch pad!!!! I ended up with a 2019 Acura MDX Advance in june 2019 , primarily because of the Touch pad in the 2019 RDX. it is a PIA. After a 20 minute test drive , I couldn't stand it. Its a sha e Acura has gone down this path while others (Hyundai , Kia, etc.) Stuck with a Touch screen. IMHO, as a 69 yo, this is a mistake. You know, when engineers sell their bosses on an idea with great expense, it would take an earthquake to move that Mountain. Otherwise, looking at the competitors, this new Acura MDX is spectacular! Maybe, if I could get one as a loaner for a day or two for a lengthy test drive to really play with that Touch Pad, i would consider whether I could li e with it. If it were a Touch screen or even better , incorporate both, a no brainer pick.
Finally somebody doesn't nighttime review for those ambient lights inside an Acura thank you so much for the video. I don't know how many times I try to watch and see what these lights look like online but yummy people try to post that and it's like do it at night I don't know why they can't just do that but thank you so much
These intros are just getting smoother and cleaner man excellent job! I’m digging the professional yet easy approach. These night reviews cannot be underestimated IMO. How have we lived without these for so many years of car review channels? That red color isn’t bad either!
I'm not a fan of auto high beam headlights. I always turn it off of disable them. I'm a fan of ambient lighting but the more subtle the better. The sides with the two lines looks a little to busy imo. One line is all that was needed. Thanks for the night review with lightning!
Of course you know I'm all for it 😊 This was the coolest night review you've done thanks to the lightning. I want the Type-S when it arrives. I know the sound system is PHENOMENAL. Appreciate you Nolan.
Haha it worked out perfectly...last night I had it and I was waiting for it to stop raining snd the lightning hung around fir a while. I can’t wait for the Type-S! Thanks Key!
My wife and I have been a Honda family since we got married 23 years ago, and the 2023 Acura MDX was our first jump into the premium Honda world. I have to say the MDX is absolutely incredible for the price point. I do not think you can get a better vehicle for the price than the MDX 3.5L V6.
Good review. Drove everything in the luxury field over the past year and nothing comes close to the total remake of the 2022 MDX. I paid cash after getting a good trade, so-to-speak! No need to discount, as they are selling faster than all the others and just beats all the others in every way. No need for the seats to be pushed down via auto, as hand push is one second and so easy too! I do wish Acura spent more time, however on helping you learn the tech side of the vehicle, but I will learn and boy does this buggy have tech. I got the Pearl Red and hope to get my wife the RDX later. Acura sure put a lot of thought into the total inside and out remodel and everywhere I go people stop and want to see the changes. I like also the huge storage capacity and third row is just fine, but we did not use it on our last SUV, but that wonderful under shelf storage bin holds at least 40 Publics bags and you do not need to worry about them rolling around. So many little things they thought out that this just kills all the other luxury cars at this time. That new 10 speed works wonderful with the big six at all speeds, so smooth! Maybe in three years they will figure out and produce solid state safe batteries and build enough charging stations so people can not worry about taking long trips and running out of EV, but then again with the Russian hacking I guess the grid is next, so I may just build solar panels on the back side of my roof on the mountain, so we can at least run around our big state. So much happening who knows what three years will bring.
Nolan, your review on this Acura MDX 2022 is great and full of details. Excellent abd stunning vehicle with almost all options available in it and it really deserves to be the best selling 3 rows suv in the states 👍
Thanks for doing this! So hard to find good vids that show all the car's "night features"! Next up - finding detailed reviews of cars' voice commands features - maybe a new niche for you since they are few and far between. Anyway, great vid!
I see the frustration with the touch-pad-only control of the infotainment system some folks have. I had a 2010 RX 350 that had a touch pad (& touch screen), but the screen was awkward to reach, so I used the "mouse" most of the time. It was also voice-activated, so I could keep hands-on the wheel. You want to see "involved," look at the programming video for the Genesis GV80! It's so deep it could take days! I love the 2022 MDX and want one 😁 I'm 74 and don't find the touch pad a show stopper. Way to GO Acura!
I believe you can change the sensitivity of the light sensor to either turn off faster when it detect very little light incoming traffic or stay on when it’s basically daylight out my 2015 RDX had those settings. Other then that Acura has some of the best lights in the industry love them. Kinda like they are not adaptive because if you have trouble with them they will be very costly to repair.
PA, How did you like the HUD ? Especially at Night. If I go for the new MDX(I have a 2019 MDX), it will be the Advance . Nice review, nothing else like it on the web. THX
I just bought a 2022 MDX without the fog lights. My 2005 MDX has fog lights and they really help with right angle turns at night. I honestly didn't know that it was the fog lights that lit up the road so well. However, without the fog lights in the 2022 MDX I have real trouble with the right angle turns at night. It shocks me that Acura is so proud of its numerous safety features but doesn't make fog lights standard for every model. Do you know if fog lights can be added (after purchase) to the 2022 MDX. Cost? If I had only known that might have changed my purchase.
The exterior styling seems a little generic IMO but the interior lighting looks great especially the ones on the trunk/gate when it’s open from above. And the walk away feature is a nice touch.
Don't understand this comment at 12:52 -- "...you have to toggle the high beams switch to turn them on or off, which is a little bit annoying." You said this AFTER turning on Automatic High Beams. Why do you have to toggle the high beams on or off when Automatic High Beams is already on? This is definitely not how it works with my 2022. Once Automatic High Beams are on, that's it. High Beams turn on as needed and turn off when the car detects oncoming traffic, hence "automatic". Absolutely no toggling anything on my part.
I should have clarified. If the auto high beams are on...you can just push a button to turn them off. You have to use the high beam lever. I want them on sometimes, but other times know I will want them off or vice versa. So if they are off...and you want automatic high beams enabled, you have to turn the high beams on even if you don’t want them in at that particular time. I prefer a button on the end of the stalk or something similar instead of relying on the actual position of the lever.
It was the last night I had and it had been raining/storming any other chance before. It stormed again and I had to wait for it to pass which was that night at about 11
Except that the larger 3rd row seated Cadillac XT6 beats the 2022 MDX by about a second in Motor Trend handling course. The XT6 also gets TSP+ and tops MDX with 310 hp!
Acura has managed to become a HORRIBLE manufacturer! I am on my sixth new Acura (22 MDX), and my last! My car has been in the body shop for the last three months waiting parts after I hit a deer. The delay is ALL on Acura and they have offered NOTHING for the severe inconvenience.. I haven’t had a car at all for 2 months (Insur only covered 30 days), reported the issue to Acura corporate and haven’t even gotten so much as a “sorry for the delay” from them. They are simply pretending that me and my issue don’t exist. GREAT after purchase customer service. I am done with Acura! I will definitely be in a Lexus once this lease is up.
