................................ Sooooooooooooooooooo Wrong the 450h+ "F"F Sport is much faster than the 350 Lexus...Has Adaptive Suspension" ( tighter in curves softer on Freeways) F Sport model is much nicer looking W/ Large FUNCTIONAL Black air intakes on both sides of grill...the Infotainment center is 14"'s Larger and my F Sport has all Carbon Fiber interior and exterior parts!
I recently just bought the 2022 RDX, and I love it! I went back and forth between it and the NX & RX 350, but my heart just rested with Acura since I've always loved their vehicles. I personally think the interior details and aesthetics of the RDX are much more appealing than the Lexus; however, they're both amazing vehicles. My RDX drives and looks amazing! I also think the RDX has more cargo space as well. You won't lose with either!
One of the reason why people would buy Japanese over German is reliability. Let's not forget that Lexus's reliability is proven and better than any other car brands out there. I would go for NX for that reason and the design of Lexus is more sleek in my opinion.
I love my 2022 RDX A-SPEC, bought after test driving 5 similar competitor models. Tho they all were solid driving, the RDX just felt better and stronger on the road.
Lexus is far more reliable and Lexus is supported by a superior world luxury class dealer network. Lexus parts logistics is unparalleled and usually cost less. Lexus also offers many engine configurations to meet owner’s specific need. Lexus is true blue luxury Vs Acura’s Premium brand status. Lexus feel more luxurious both visually and ride quality. No brand is being perfect but Lexus comes closer to perfect than any other brand.
Great comparison. I bought the 1st gen NX when it came out. I loved how it looked, but it was a real snoozefest to drive...at least it looked great in the atomic silver color with red interior. I kept it just a year and traded it for a Mercedes GLC. Now I am in the new RDX ASpec/Advance exactly like the one in this review. I love the way this vehicle handles and the power is great. The SH-AWD with torque vectoring is wonderful and makes this thing so confident on the road. So many reviews pan the infotainment system, which I found to be completely intuitive to learn and use once I surpassed the learning curve, and I am 66 years old. To be fair, I did not test the new NX with all of its improvements. The price has increased considerably over just last year. I did drive the GV70, both the 4 cyl and 6 cyl. I thought the 4 cyl sounded harsh during acceleration by comparison to the 6 cyl, which was way more power than I needed for my mostly urban driving. I am pleased with my RDX.
Yes. Acura does a great job with suspension tuning and driving dynamics. Lexus, not so much. I need three rows so guess that means I will need to start saving my change for an MDX.
Yes, I've driven other SUV and never considered AWD because I live in flat lands, but after I got the RDX with SH-AWD I can't go back. The sense of confidence, even in a super wet thunderstorm is simply unparalleled. The SUV is glued to the pavement and takes curves at high speed with a very satisfying rotation from the opposing back wheel, that makes any driver turn like a pro. In sport+ is even more dynamic and very exciting to drive, although I use that mode only when I'm alone because it feels very on the edge, does very sudden acceleration, and passengers start protesting 😅 But is great to be able to have the dual personality.
@@LondonHasFallin How are you going to tell him about HIS opinion? It does look cheap and the Lexus costumers have been complaining about the New ES and NX and the incredible amount of cheap plastics Lexus is using.
@@LondonHasFallin Its all relative and what may look cheap to me may not look cheap to you. The interior just seems basic and cold to me. I dont know but I get Rav-4 vibes from the outside to the interior; not groundbreaking at all and most of the car reviews I've seen on this new Lexus are underwhelming. I mean it's going to sell no matter what I say just because it's a Lexus, but the Acura clearly is the more superior product here. Its gives off a much more sophisticated look unlike the Lexus
I like the looks of the RDX too but the NX is definitely the looker here exterior wise. But the interior, even though it has that nice large touchscreen, looks a bit downscale from the previous gen NX. This looks more Toyota to me than Lexus.
@@lamontjohnson5810 have you seen it in person? The Lexus is better looking inside to me than the RDX. It is also a step up in Luxury vs the previous NX.
I love the tech of the Lexus but the Acura is more fun to drive with Super Handling AWD. I just can't get used to their trackpad infotainment. Acura needs to give it a touchscreen.
Noooo! Touchscreens are so hard to mess with when driving. Trackpad is by far my favorite. Love that Acura is one of the last holdouts sticking to a trackpad.
The NX is Too cramped inside for me. It's a compact. The RDX has midsize benefits. Why??? they do Not yet offer the Honda hybrid, system I will never understand.
Acura definitely easier on the eyes and interior definitely rdx wins lexus interior looks to much like a toyota interior however i like that nx offers a variety of engine options but all said n done acura for the win 🏆
Always been an Acura fan with the sporty driving dynamics and sh-awd. Never really touch the info-tainment once it is set other than volume or source select (mostly using steering wheel controls for that). Acura just needs to bring back a hybrid and/or plug-in RDX version, just add a touch screen, and provide more options with trim materials to go in luxury or sport directions (less piano black stuff). I would go for a RDX Aspec Adv hybrid to add to my 19 MDX Sport Hybrid Adv.
I have an NX 350h fantastic car your NX model is AWD Reliability can't be measured in a 15-minute video... Lexus is by far ranked way above the Acura. Toyota beats Honda again!
I bought the Acura RDX 2020 in 08/2019. I looked long and hard at both the RDX and the Lexus NX 350 before buying my 2020 Acura RDX. I had all of my 3 teenage kids sit in the back of each car for 10 minutes before deciding which one to get. I have 3 kids in high school, and with them being 5-8, 5-10, 6-0, I really have found the extra few inches in the second row a big benefit on trips around town the last 2.5 yrs. When we got 8" of snow earlier this year, and when I had to go to work, the SH-AWD saved the day.
I still own my 2004 Acura TL with 190K miles which I gave to my oldest teenager to drive when I got my RDX, and it still drives and shifts like a charm. Acura cars just do not know when to die, or as Scotty Kilmer says, they are bulletproof 🤣
None of these are ready for me. I need Acura to adapt Lexus's infotainment and rear vents and I need Lexus to improve that tranny tuning and Acura's cargo space.
You can't go wrong with either of them ,but I will go with the Acura. Acura should push their presence more in Africa like Lexus is done or done. One love from Nigeria.🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Great review. I will saw I’ve seen the new NX 350 with heated seats in the back that so you owe NX another .5 pts. 😂 Other than that they are both amazing and this review makes it hard for sure. I think the hybrid options and big screen might have me on the Lexus side for now. Either way the review was great. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting rating system.. I'd think a much more intuitive infotainment and hybrid options would be worth more than half a point. The Lexus offers much more in terms of powertrain options and feels more modern in the cabin.
@@Stefin770 not sure that relates to my comment on the point system. Value would be determined by the individual buyer unless you mean the resale value which I'm sure the Lexus would best the Acura there too.
Love love love that Lexus came to its senses and added a touchscreen. Wish Acura would do the same because I think the Acura interior looks more premium, if not a bit busy, but with that touchpad as the only way to physically control the infotainment system, it's a deal breaker.
@@TheE571 this is one thing I hate about car reviews. So much emphasis on the infotainment. Are we driving cars or playing with tablets? Seriously consider how frequently you actually use infotainment when driving. Its like the least important feature but people love to talk about their gadgets I guess. So I seriously think infotainment should be half a point max. Not anything higher. I could even beg to say it could be even .25 points. Before I get into my car my GPS is set. Spotify is already on. I walk into my car and android auto kicks in and I don't touch my infotainment. The HUD gives access to on the fly stuff like phone anyway. As for the hybrid. Yes. Today it's very important because of gas prices. But that doesn't always equate for savings if you for example live in a condo that has a higher charging cost than if you lived in a house. Or considering the time it takes to charge the battery etc. There are some losses to having electric or hybrid vehicles and its usually time. (Assuming you can't charge overnight at home) and it doesn't necessarily mean it's cheaper if you compare the costs to charge and usage in different climates.
Both solid vehicles, but I expected that outcome, the RDX is just such a good overall package, Acura needs a Type S version and a hybrid version to further solidify its lead over the NX and to be more competitive against the Germans.
@@Blank00 he expected a 90’s NSX in this era which is absolutely unrealistic. Making the NSX a hybrid was the best move for Acura, they should’ve marketed it better and updated the interior and make a spider version and a Type S version sooner than they did. Right now, McLaren is manufacturing a v6 hybrid (Artura) and even Ferrari with the 296 GTB. Acura was early to the hybrid supercar game below the holy trinity (918, LaFerrari and P1) and now they’re canceling the NSX while other manufacturers are just catching on.
@@drivescene6747 before RU-vid removed the ability to view dislikes, I checked his video where he bashed the NSX. It got 1.1 million views, so there's a chance that someone at Acura was one of those 1.1 million viewers. And it got more likes than dislikes, so I think Acura probably took note that "nobody wanted a hybrid"
I traded in my 2016 Acura ILX for a 2022 Lexus NX 350h. The main reason that I chose Lexus was the offering of a Hybrid version. I'm loving the 38 - 39 MPG that I'm getting with my Lexus NX 350h. As a loyal Acura owner for over 20 years, I'm disappointed that Acura doesn't offer a hybrid option for the RDX.
@@naveenthemachine Personal preference. I think that the Lexus is nicer inside. The infotainment is great. Love all the options that I got too. Just my preference. My sister has a Honda CRV hybrid, & it is nice too. I considered that as well, but chose to go with the Lexus NX.
Compared these 2 vehicles for months but when I test drove both, I bought the RDX instead and really happy with the car. The lexus is nice but the RDX had the better ride quality for me.
I’ve had 3 Acura RDX and liked them all. Just got a Lexus NX 350 premium and enjoy the interior more especially the infotainment screen that is touch screen. The RDX needs to add touchscreen. I have the red seats which are 🔥. Thanks for this comparison review of my two fav SUVs ☺️
@@bq-9238 With traditional gear shifter after reverse I can change to "D" drive mode without even looking at the console because the shifter clicks in each gear. But with the buttons I pressed the wrong button several times. And also having more than 2 cars with 2 diffrent gear selectors is confusing. I will stick with the regular gear selector cars now on. Will never buy Acura/Honda.
A little bias here, since I own a new RDX. But I love it. Much bigger and comfortable than the NX. If the RDX had touch screen, it would be the cherry on top.
I test drove both before making my purchase and can tell you the Acura is better, the infotainment system on the Lexus is better but the RDX destroys the NX in driving dynamic and handling, I got the A-SPEC Advance as well red exterior with black interior and red stitching.
Yep. I bought the RDX 2020 in 08/2019. I looked long and hard at both the RDX and the Lexus NX 350 before buying my 2020 Acura RDX. Compared to the Midsize Premium SUV segment, Lexus owners are more often women, are older, and enjoy a lower median annual household income. J.D. Power data shows that 42% of Lexus RX owners are female (vs. 38% for the segment), that their median age is 65 (vs. 58 for the segment), and that their median annual household income is $155,303 (vs. $184,248 for the segment).
I wasn’t sure if I heard them right but I thought they said the RDX A-Specadvance didn’t have rear heated seats. I thought the advanced models had rear heated seats
@@eleanormassaro5195 yes the a-spec advance has heated rear seats. The a-spec advance has all the features of the regular advance, just with the sport appearance package.
According to J.D. Power data, 44% of Acura RDX owners are female, compared to 45% for the compact premium SUV segment. Owners of the RDX have a median age of 57 years (vs. 58), and earn a median annual household income of $147,965 (vs. $156,990).
I picked the NX over the RDX. NX does offer heated rear seats, the push button transmission is bad. If you are a Toyota owner before, the transmission thing is no brainer.
@@naveenthemachine yea now is crazy times. But you can tell the market is slowing going back. I contacted 35 lexus on their mark up prices. It's dropping now
Ok so Lexus NX is pretty much a Rav 4 just more luxurious. RDX is a completely different platform from rest of the Hondas. RDX drives much better best handling. Lexus is for old people. You can't even see the exhaust in thr rear that's because old people don't care 😂

See? I was right. I told you all the nx would disappoint. You all refused to listen to me and chose to call me crazy. Well guess who’s crazy now? It’s certainly not me because I was right all this time and you were embarrassingly wrong on every front
Neither. 2023 NX 350h. Why would I not want the extra mpg and efficiency? There's just so many reasons why I'd choose a hybrid over the regular NX. If we compared this to 350h, for just about the same price, it would win hands down.
It would be nice to know which car you would personally choose and why at the end of each comparison review. How about a summary of the pros and cons each car offers.
I think I'll be trading in my '93 Acura Integra for the RDX. I might get $200 for the trade-in, but the new 4 cyl is a worthy upgrade to my old B20Z. :)
There's no chance in the depths of Hell anything manufactured in the u.s. would be of any quality. For reliability & quality they're not even on par with anything out of india! Examples: Jeep, mustang, camero etc etc. All junk.
Plus the Rdx is as fast as the fastest nx. 😂 You have to spend 60K to get 300hp to match the 0-60 of the Rdx. What an utter disappointment and embarrassment for Lexus 😂🤣
@@naveenthemachine Me & you kno the RDX speed is not equal to a NSX , we are not disputing European vehicles to begin with , 60k is just the average price for most European cars facts, did i forget to mention reliability on top.

Thats what i said before the nx went on sale and yet everyone shut me down for saying that The new nx is imo one of the worst luxury cuvs in its class and it’s really down there with the Infiniti qx50 and qx55
You really shouldn't reward a half a point because of the company producing hybrid models and the other company doesn't! That has nothing to do with two gasoline suvs in a all gasoline test it just doesn't make any sense and has zero to do with the actual comparison other than that good video.
Lexus nx side mirror shakes like you’re having a seizure at speed of >65mph. Lexus won’t address this issue and dealerships are clueless how to fix this issue.
Lexus should of put the remote start on the keyfob like every 2022 Toyota Camry. I don’t understand why car manufacturers do that… give their lower tier cars simple better features than a higher premium.
I just bought an RDX A-Spec (w/o Advance) This is definitely the sweet spot trim. I paid $47k out the door and in my opinion, it’s loaded. The only substantive thing missing is adaptive dampeners. And in most cars, those are over hyped. Didn’t really even consider the NX because based on the website it’s seemed to be in a smaller class of vehicle - I wasn’t even aware these two were competitors. Meanwhile the Lexus RX is much more expensive. For my money the RDX was the obvious choice.
Both are great. I would pick the Lexus for the customer service. If I need a rental it's a Lexus off their lot that doesn't cost me anything. Acura won't do that.
I thumbed up for the work but the comparison video missed big in the weights of the factors - for example I would give NX at least 2 points, not 0.5, for the amazing touch screen, plus the safety feature of Lexus is more advanced than Acura’s , a point that was missed in the video.
@@colinbny 🤣🤣🤣 TLX is a great car too! I have a 06 TL and she been running great still. Over 180k and still strong. I bought the MDX for the same reason as you, to be able to haul more folks and the space!
In this company of two, and despite the infotainment foibles, the RDX is a far better to drive crossover. Outside of these two, a GV70 is a much better option still.
