Jake Hynds don't get me wrong Polaris makes cool stuff! they have machine for every type of person.. but every time I watch a dirt tracks video and they do a long trip ride in Polaris they always snapping axle or a belt I just think Polaris quality is poor and in the end they only care about the dollar not necessarily the consumer!!!

When we Go Riding and Camping we usually have 2 / 3 truck's some times more depending on who's going usually Dad Tows The Travel Trailer with his Truck I Tow The Big Buggy 2 quads and my son's ATV or I tow the big Buggy my side by side utv a quad my son's ATV and my brother tows 2 quads or the other Buggy Every now and then my wife brings her truck as well if we need to tow anything else

I don’t know about crossing the chains, when I haul set of doubles on tractor trailers we never cross them if something went wrong crossing them would cause them to snap,
Then your chains would be of the wrong grade for the load your carrying... They are meant to be crossed so if the hitch pops it will catch on the chains, not digging the nose into the pavement causing a certain critical failure. I have had hitches pop more than once in my hauling experience, but go ask your local DOT if you don't trust the internet
What engine was in the truck? And when you were towing with it did the engine temperature gauge ever go above half? I know you all have done a lot of reviews on these trucks but you never talk about the temperatures of the transmission or engine when you are doing these Towing test. I recently noticed on my 2017 Sierra with a 5.3 my temperature gauge moving just above half when I'm only Towing about 3500 lb. Is this something y'all normally see in these trucks? Thanks.
Nathan McLaughlin Always cross them, the idea is if the trailer tongue comes loose of the ball it will be caught in the crossed chains, otherwise it will slip through between them.
Mike K and have a ecobust engine and yes I owned two of them. First was a mistake getting the first gen and even bigger mistake thinking the second gen would be better. Lots of power. Until you pull over the 4000lb marke they are great on fuel after that they burn more than V8s in their class. Don't get me started on the problems they have.
I've noticed through the years that TFL typically does not use enough gain on their brake controllers. As someone who uses a multitude of trailers on a daily basis, you can follow this rule of thumb no matter the trailer or manufacturer. Loaded, use full gain or slightly under. Empty, use half gain or slightly under. Lightly loaded, use three quarters gain or slightly under.
It depends on the truck and the weight of the trailer. For example, Nissan is pretty aggressive and Ram’s controllers are not. If your fully loaded trailer is 5,000 lbs versus 12,500 lbs - do you use maximum gain on both? No. You test the system and adjust the gain.
