Honestly this is gold man. Everyday guy doing a everyday job. Probably saved himself $8,000 easy. And I got the gist right away, but I just let him go podcast off. Good job buddy good job!
Axles can be adjusted slightly foward/backward to adjust tension on chains. IIRC, manual calls for 1/4" rotational play at the OD OF THE MOUNTED TIRE. Going by the look of your chains at videos start, you probably could've just adjusted the axles & been fine. It's better to seal o-ring area with a coating of axle grease, so you can still properly adjust the axles. Be sure to use PROPER SPEC gear oil in chain cases, so you don't wipe out a inner bearing on the axle(axle assemblies used start at about 850-1k each). Don't ask how I know.
Man you’re way more knowledgeable about me I was just out here making it work. But probably because of my camera angle, Im not too great with the camera and working at the same time but yes they were adjusted all the way out and it was still skipping. I wish they made em with more adjustment there.
@ginotitone6968 LOL, idk about the more knowledgeable, tho I thank you for the kind words. Yeah, sometimes you just gotta make it work. However, if you still have skipping going on, there's something else at work as well. Basics like same tires/wheels, is there something binding one axle(like a bad or frozen bearing), is the brake hung up in the case, are things I'd chase before looking at more serious items like drive motors/reduction boxes, etc. I'm no equipment mechanic, but have my own unit & do my own repairs too. I had an axle come apart while moving rock/gravel(nothing like watching a wheel flop around & try to part ways with the housing when you 500ft plus from the garage). So have experience on this one. BUT there's FAR TOO FEW vids on these for any real service, & is why I chimed in. I would really recommend a factory manual set(big binder, 6-7 separate books inside) avg cost $175 - 200 ebay or other. Can be a life saver, can also make you scratch your head(no procedure for bleeding fuel system!???)!
Hey,I have a fiat Hitachi sl65b and look same with ut new Holland, what is it opinion about that machine? Good and bad things to know about that machine? Txs!!
Hey I’m sorry I really don’t know much about them, this one had a lot of use and abuse and I think the bones of it were built right, the electronics and such weren’t working on this machine though.
