It’s a good machine and will treat you well for decades to come. I would like to offer some advice, one of the best things you can do to keep your belly pan clean and free of mud and debris. It can catch on fire and also it may not allow enough airflow around the oil pan and cause a temperature overheating of the oil…. Not good. Andrew Camarata just learned that the hard way with a fairly new excavator that caught on fire because of oil soaked leaves, it got destroyed. Oh yeah it’s a really good idea to carry a proper fire extinguisher with you. Just trying to help.
Excellent advice all around, I'll get in there with the shop vac. I have a small extinguisher in the cab already, but maybe I'll try and find a place to mount a bigger one. It's kind of crazy how much debris is in there, I wasn't totally aware until I changed out that oil. Living in a wood house in a fire-prone area, we take every fire seriously...one of our biggest risks here is grass fire from the UTV exhaust.
