Thank you for these tips, as I just ordered a Sweetheart Lychee and Kohala Longan for my container garden! 🥰🌱❤️

Good luck with your tree.

Great tips--these trees seem to hate any fertilizer, even fish emulsion. I had the same issue where the leaves turned brown and dropped after just a little fertilizer. They also desiccate from wind easily. If my tree comes back, I'll use worm castings and leaf mulch.

There was a video posted by the University of Florida 13 years ago, apparently you are supposed to fertilize with low nitrogen fert with high potassium. Hopefully this helps.

I was wondering why my lychee leaves were turning brown at the tips - - didn't realize it was due to over fertilizing! Thanks for the info

glad you found it helpful. The new growth on my tree are no longer burning at the tips so it's looking like it has settled in.

Mine grew 6/7 feet in one year using cow manure in central Florida

Nice! I don’t think cow manure is going to work for my small backyard. 😂

That sucks over here in Sacramento. It gets up to 100 someday each summer. And the guy is saying that it likes it at 70 and 80 in the summer not getting that then

I see, it rarely gets over 80 here is the south :) we are spoiled.

My 2 feet emperor lychee I got from Florida has brown spots Do they like acidic soil

According to Google they do. I don’t have a lot of experience with lychee yet so can’t really give you advices. It could take some time for it to acclimate since yours is only 2 ft tall atm.
