Just thinking about my dad. he past 3 months ago. Died in prison. Was set to be released two days. Served 20 plus years. Had a brain aneurysm. Had a lil moment.. Powerful song!! Good Artist.
QUEENATHAND My dad passed away almost 20 years ago in prison from a heart attack. This song also put me in the moment. I do not let a day go by without thinking of him.
Владимир-сын путина- Пост I can't imagine spending 6 days so I applaud and although things will get hard ( it does for ALL of us) hold your head up and God bless
Thank you lyfe for performing for our brothers on lock down! That will be something they will carry with them for life. You gave them as well as me hope brother!! Thank you again..
Man i was locked up in 05-08 and big art use to sing this song when we was in the hole thru the vent.. smh got me thru some lonely nights...shout out lyfe
real talk i went to jail in 2004.and wen i got out,my life was a t a cross roads.before i went to jail i had everthing i had a apartment on the 12th floor, over looking the lake.money cars women.life was good.until those gates closed on me.i did get out and this was one of the songs that i heard.i broke men down, cause i lost everthing.but in the end i still have my life, freedom and my daughter.....one love fellas
An ex of mine introduced me to Lyfe's music and I have been a believer ever since...ever time I hear his music it takes me back to the good times with my ex...Lyfe's music is so touching and relateable for me...
+chauncey bloom totally agree. The lyrics are so on point he a man and not afraid to cry more man need to speak up and be real. love that he went bk there and preformed for the inmates did screws who maybe once thought he was lesser then them! now he's on the stage in front them. I'm sure he gave the prisoners hope.
This is a very soulful piece...It is refreshing to see a young Brotha with his own style in the days of Rap ... This is real music, as there are only a few "MEN" who really sing a song from the heart and has originality these days...
I found this performance quite a few years ago, and i still can't get enough of his voice! The only thing that i regret is that his music is not on vinyl…
Damn, i felt that to my very core,it gave me goosebumps, those lyrics are too deep, what a haunting song,i can't wait for him to get out and put it down again
This is still among the most moving songs I’ve ever heard. Gives me goose bumps actually. Unless you’ve been thru the system where your trying to be tough to get thru it and wanna break down and cry so bad but you just hold it all in. Until finally your in your cell alone one night, and you can’t hold it anymore. And even if you’ve never been locked up, real men in general hold way to much hurt in and life nailed it on the head that even the toughest need to cry and get that shit off their chest. 😊
1:53 gets me EVERY time 😢!!! You can just hear/FEEL the emotion in his voice! Whenever a man's voice cracks at a certain level, he's tryin to hold it together
It's inspiring to see how this young man with such an awesome voice and talent can write and sing songs that are so powerful with much meaning behind them! Keep up the good work Lyfe! We love your songs!
I'm so proud of you lyfe, you should have got the recognition of the new artist of the year award because I was there with you while you wrote all the songs and thanks to mr. Baker for believing in you and helping you to get your album started I wish you well my brother and may God bless you and your family always from Marty Kovach "(Saunders R 125-491)"
I love this song with all my heart and soul,It's so true that crying is like taking your soul to the laundry max. This brother can sing do you hear me.He gave them some hope and want them to believe and that they can change there life around.

Until you cry your not a man. My brothers got some issues and I keep telling him to watch this live version but he hasn't coz he knows he'll cry. Time to release it brov. I'll be there to catch you. Love you to the max. Thank you Lyfe.
I remember sitting at home. Young. Nothing to do. Decided to watch the Apollo because I hadn't seen it in a while. And Lyfe walked out. I watched his whole run. After 4 or 5 wins you qualify for the finals but they never tell you when it is. Then after he was gone I stopped watching it. Then one day I fell asleep watching TV. Woke up and just happened to catch the finals where Lyfe won. I watched his whole run. I bought his first two albums. The 1st album is an absolute gem, but nothing beats those 1 minute performances he did on he Apollo.
lyfe one of my favorite artist like an album I can play from beginning to end don't like albums gotta skip to next song and keep skipping he need to come to Philly to do a show
I love the entire CD back in the day I wore mine out. I love to listen like a story in song. The wall by pink Floyd is my other. If I start i want to hear it all. Like books on tape. Just in great music..
