Your videos have helped me get a full night's sleep for the first time in over a week. Fair play to you for using your difficult experience to help people in a similar situation 🙏
I came across this channel recently, November of 2022 I began to notice swollen lymph glands which I now accept were reactive. It was unusual as I had never felt them before in my entire 41 years of existence . I began to google what these lumps were and was given the worst diagnosis from my search result. As the days went on I was convinced I had Cancer. Ive never in my life been through such an ordeal as I put myself through. The fear was like nothing I had ever experienced. I went to A doctor and he examined me and said these are "reactive" Lymph nodes. It felt great the relief I felt on the journey home. Once I got home I was fine until I lay in bed that evening and began to think. I began feeling the lymph nodes and noticed my voice was getting a bit croaky. I then began to combine the Lymph Node search terms with my saw throat. Next thing I convinced myself I had neck Cancer. I didnt sleep for so long. At night time I began to feel fearful of going to sleep. This continued and I visited the doctor again and reported the new symptom of a saw throat. He examined me and said yes you likely have a cold and likely this may be causing your reactive lymph nodes. I felt temporary relief again but within hours i was back at it again googling my symptoms. I was all over WebMD like a mad thing furiously typing in search of what is causing my symptoms. This cycle went on for months. until around March time. I began to feel so exhausted by the worry that I felt tired all the time. I was adding tiredness as a new search term along with Lymph nodes. (By this time my cough had cleared up) The Cancers I thought I had were numerous. I visited the doctor again although this time he diagnosed me with health anxiety. I had never in my life given a second thought to my health why at 41. I never understood at the time. I made a promise to my self that I would stop googling symptoms. Its such an easy thing to say but doing it is incredibly hard, but I stuck to my promise. I began concentrating on my hobbie in hopes of turning it in to a job. I was so focused on this that before I knew it months had passed and I hadnt googled my symptoms once. 6 months after first noticing them my Lymph Glands began to dissipate. One remained shotty which is fine as i now know alot about shotty lymphs . Who ever needs to hear this. Take away from my experience is you have to starve the anxiety of any stimulus what so ever. Rule number 1 Do not google your symptoms. Rule number 2 Do not google your symptoms. You will never beat it unless you can get your head around the complete abdication of googling health symptoms or bodily sensations. If you want the nightmare to end you must starve the anxiety. Its completely beatable . Its not easy but its worth it to regain your sense of inner peace. You have to be willing to fight for it. First step is deleting all of your saved health searches. Next step Connect with someone friends or family. Take a trip out for lunch. Go out for a long walk in the country or even just a park. Every time you feel the urge to google ask yourself. Is there something more beneficial I can be putting this time in to. Perhaps taking up a new hobbie. Perhaps plan that trip you have been wanting to go on. The more you do this the stronger those neurological pathways to recovery become. You got this !
@@joreinerwidjaja1882 Hi there, They were on both sides of my neck towards the back intersecting with the shoulder. One of them has completely gone down the other is no longer reactive but its a shotty Lymph node so yea I still feel it a bit but only when I look for it. What symptoms you having If its not to forward of me to ask ? 🙏
Hello @@glynallen8914 thanks for replying 😊 I’ve noticed a lymph node for about 5 weeks now. On the side of my left neck. No other symptoms. I first noticed it while it was tender and a wee bit painful. It has gone down in size, but it hasn’t been fully gone, thus my anxiety. Checked with 2 GPs all said it’s normal, but this was about on the 1st and 3rd week. So wondering if I ought to check with a specialist (As you can tell this has been on my mind 😂)
@@joreinerwidjaja1882 😂 I can tell it sounds as though you might be focusing alot of attention on it. Im going to be honest. If your lymph glands were swollen because of something more serious they would have increased in size around every 3 to 4 weeks. Have it checked once more but consider this. Doctors train for 7 years before anyone will let them loose on a person. By the time a doctor is being let loose on other humans they will have seen quite a significant number of ailments. Learn to trust your doctor. By all means go see them again. What I did was I made a booking to see my GP every 6 weeks. I then told myself the day I see my GP is the only day I will think about it. If you are obsessing about it daily it wont ever go away. your mind will always focus on a perceived threat. Move that focus elsewhere for long enough and neurons in your brain will wire together and fire together as new habits are formed.
Can’t thank you enough, you are a real life saver. Have had a lump behind my ear since November (approx. 5 months) and have been so worried I definitely suffer from hyper sensitivity. thank you!
My god you are literally me. I’ve gone from thinking I had lymphoma to thinking my daughter does. I have been through all this. It’s so good to know I’m not the only one like this. Thank you so much for doing this xx
You have literally calmed my nerves by at least 50% after watching this video. I have a what a doctor called reactive lymph node in my neck, said nothing to worry about but may be a sign of an infection and to to back in a month, said to rule out the C Word, naturally I didn't believe him because I am insane. So I google, I prod, I poke, I squeeze the thing until its doubled in size and I'm sat here in a ball of anxiety. It is so refreshing to listen to your video, and to read other comments, there are people like me out there. Thank you in all seriousness for your video, and to anyone who's spoke of their troubles. My god it helps.
In the same situation right now and have extremely bad health anxiety, I cant grasp why the doctor wants to see me in 6 weeks if she isn't worried about it, hope yours is OK now?
Thanks so much! You're a life saver! I've been worrying about a very small lymph node in my neck that's not even noticeable unless i feel it. I've no sign of infection, so it's unexplained. Keep thinking I've got lymphoma. The last few days have been a struggle, but you've helped me get through them. Thank you.
@p1xi3dust333 Mines is still here! Although it hasn't changed or grown at all so i believe its nothing serious. I also have no other underlying symptoms.
Thank you so much. I was so scared for months, had such bad health anxiety that I hugged my girl and told her I loved her thinking I was going to die. It seems over dramatic but health anxiety is so heavy that it’s suffocating. This honestly helped so much.
@@definetlynotmason I’m fine, lymph nodes can be enlarged for any reason apparently - went in for an ultrasound for my neck and luckily no malignancy. Hope you’re doing well
@@suntzu6211 thank you! Just wanna add on, how long have your lymph nodes been swelling? And is it still there? I’m currently 12 rn and suffering from health anxiety rn lol
@@definetlynotmason ah for 3 years. Trust me at your age cancer is insanely rare. I’m 10 years older than you but most cancer cases are diagnosed in people in their 50s-80s. You haven’t been exposed to enough carcinogens trust me. Doubt you smoke 🤣
Been watching your videos lately, and it really helps me a lot with health anxiety.. you're a gift from heaven. Sending prayers for you and to your family.. I really hope you're doing well.😊🙏 Watching from Philippines🇵🇭
You cant always feel them. I have one that doesn't feel very big scan shows that one is almost an inch short axis. 3 others that only scans show. I cant feel them in my neck. With in 3 months fatty hila is only a small amount vs the scan done 3 months prior that showed normal fatty hila. Would you say that's normal? 🤔
I’m really scared and I’m only 13 I think I have health anxiety cause I would google everything Nd I try to help my self but it feels like a never ending nightmare sometimes I ask myself why is my life like this..Nd I hate tht feeling...💔
Also, anyone with immune diseases like fibromyalgia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Epstein Barr Virus (98% of us have this virus), etc. can develop swollen nodes. Also, stress can trigger swelling. These are not deadly conditions, some are just chronic illnesses that cause swollen lymph nodes. Cancer is very rare when it comes to lymph nodes. Just relax and get checked for your own peace of mind, but know you are most likely fine. Smile :)
genuinely thank you so much. i’m incredibly worried that i may have lymphoma and i just can’t wrap my head around it. i know how unlikely it is but im still convinced i may have it, my anxiety is through the roof just at the constant thought of having it… anxiety is horrible.
I’ve had a swollen lymph node in my neck for about 2-3 years. When I first found it I panicked so much and I remember finding this video and starting therapy. Thanks so much for this video it was so informative and really helped me rationalise x
Hi I’m great no health issues the lymph node is still there but never changed. The therapy really helped and I rarely have like massive worries about it now, I occasionally fall back into it but it often is just a passing thing. But yeah I’m really good and this video really did help me! :)
For me my lymph swollen like every month and it hurts so bad, I don’t know does it has a relations with my period maybe ? Then it goes and it comes back again .. on my neck back of my head , armpits… this it actually started since 2 years , if someone has something like me help please, it’s hard to live with health anxiety disorder 😢
I got follecular lymphoma cancer stagec3 - told aug 23 after being told mar 23 no cancer- had 6 rounds of chemo n jabs every other month start feb - doc can get it wrong- one day at a time-
Sir a day before yesterday I found that eptriochlear lymph nodes on my left arm are swollen . Its size would be maximum 1 cm in size . Is it cancer sir ? My body temperature ranges between 98.4 F to 98.8 F . I don't experience night sweats . I took 2nd dose of covishield on 9th august . I haven't lost weight . My pulse is around 85 , Breathing rate per minute is 13 . My current weight is 65 kgs . BP is 120/80 . Age is 20 years . I don't have swollen lymph nodes in armpit , neck or groin only eptriochlear of left arm is swollen . Should I wait for 2 weeks or go to doctor immediately . Google says its lymphoma . I am very scared sir . Sir there is no history of cancer in my family or extended family . What are the chances of it being cancerous . Sir pls help .
@@silverstone9952 the chances are very very low. you said you took the vaccine? that’s most likely if not entirely the reason why you are experiencing the lymph nodes. do you know if you’re having an infection going on in your body? also, how long have you had the lymph node and when did it appear?
@@SaraLevins I took 2nd dose of vaccine on 9th August . My pea sized (max 1 *1 cm) lymph node appeared on 4th september . Its still there . It has not grown in size . @@silverstone9952 Then you’re most like 99% fine. Where do you live? If you can, go to a doctor and let them just check it quick so you can calm down. It’s most likely related to your vaccine.
Thank you so much. Ive been anxious about discovering one in my neck. I've been panicky and at times found myself staring somewhere. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Hope mine is nothing serious. The good thing is you help me deal with my anxiety and stress. ❤
This is literally my mind in a different body. I have a hard bump right in front of my ear and some ear pain. I’ve had three panic attacks in the past week because of everything I keep reading online. And it’s getting in the way because I’m just always googling everything. Since COVID-19 all the doctors are busy so I’ve been waiting a month I get an ENT appointment so all I do is worry. Which of course my anxiety causes stomach issues, sinus irritation, palpitations, headaches. That makes me think it’s spread to other parts of my body. I also get worried, because I hear about all these stories of doctors not listening to women or ignoring their symptoms. I totally understand y’alls worry. If you are worried just talk to a doctor, DO NOT GOOGLE ANYTHING. (I honestly google something at least once or twice a day for reassurance and it never works.). Just take a breath. You’ll be okay :).
Thanks a lot for sharing about your anxiety, and also saying some things that I also couldn't find easily on Google search. The one thing I'm wondering about (which I will try to do some more research on) is whether hormones (excess estrogen, say) can cause lymph nodes to swell, because I got the impression from something I've heard, but I'm not seeing it mentioned at all. I often get swollen armpit nodes coming and going throughout the month, if I'm otherwise experiencing more hormonal symptoms.
Amazing video ! Literally assured me with everything i wanted to hear , its so good to see someone with health anxiety speak up to reassure people. More people should do and help stop the edless google symptom checker
I'm having two nodes on neck (one on left side and one on right side)both is kinda pea/almond shaped!!also I have lumps behind ears and back of head!! Im scared that I have some kind of cancer🥺 Literally my brain is telling me that I have lymphoma, brain tumor, oral cancer....idk does anyone know about this?? please reply
What about the ones that you can see when your crank your neck a certain way? I have one below my ear that’s like that when I extend my neck muscles on my right side. I got it checked by my doc but i’m still scared about it.
I have had 3 pea size nodes on each side of my chin. My ultrasound showed they were all together. Blood work is okay. No health problems. However, my chin looks like a double chin, which is unpleasant for me. They been there for about 2 years. Cant seem to get ride of them. Also, I had work done to my teeth. They are all healthy but who knows whats inside the crowns. The dentist says I am fine. I think it may be that or the earaches I used to get often as a kid.
Thanks so much. I wish I had come across your post a couple of weeks ago. Anxiety is so hard. Your whole world focusses inward. The doctor says, 'let's get it tested to be sure' and before you know it, it's CT scans and biopsy needles and clicking machines. Your in and out before you remember any questions at all. Anyway thanks again for doing the post.
Thank you for this. So reassuring! I’ve literally been worrying because of the on one side thing mainly. Health anxiety is a curse hope we all get over it asap!
I’ve been living a nightmare due to finding a lymph node in my neck, could of been there for years, I checked because I was worried about a mole and got in to my head it’s cancer and it’s spread. Then I found this lump and convinced myself I had stage 3/cancer. I started itching everywhere (in my mind). This video has made me feel so much better. Thank you
For me? Yeah! It wasn't fun... He did like 8 passes, which means 8 different times I was stuck with the needle, then he aggressively poked the lymph node over and over to get the best samples... But I felt nothing and the staff was great and it was benign. Whew!
Last month I felt under my jaw. I went to the Dr and do an ultrasound. Considered as submental lymphadenopathy 1.34x.67x.87. And my. Dr said nothing to worry but still I can help my self to overthink😂
@@kdramalife0368i have one between my jaw and ear and is small like a pea i think its been there for years but i have just now been paying attention to it. I don't have any family history of cancer in my bloodline at all. I am 18 years and the thing is that the lymph is hard but painless and isn't moveable. I then checked my other side and saw the same thing but this is one is alot smaller than the other and is very soft. Is this normal?
I have a lot of palpable lymphnodes! I have one just in front of my ear which moves over my jawjoint when i open my mouth. Very movible i guess? Sometimes i ever hear it rolling over my joint and it sucks.. I just read a article about a man who got a rash due to lymphoma.. That night i literally found a rash. Like colorless little bumps on my arm.
Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday…. I found a bean sized/shaped one in my groin yesterday..only on left side.. freaked me out…. Listening to this has eased my mind…. But … I am trusting my soul to Jesus anyway.. so… I just don’t want to be a burden to anyone and I want to ride my motorcycle this coming season…April ish..

Thank's Cherelle for all your information, and you are right I'm just like you I was freaking and touching and poking all day long 24-7 to make sure that it was not growing, now I just try to leave it alone, Thank's again Cherelle.
I have lymph node under my left jaw..it's dimension is 1.2*0.5cm.ENT Doctor told me it was fine.may be because danruff and pimple on face also causes lymph nodes to swell.later on I feel itching all over my body.i feel like so anxiety about itching
I felt like my arm had a ball under it and felt around found a swollen lymphnode and it was around the time my period was due and started my period now my period is almost over and the thing went down and it’s no where near as big as it was and I talked to my mom (a nurse) and she said it could be my period with hormonal things and I have bad health anxiety and thought I had cancer but now it’s gone I think I’m okay!!

This has been me for the past month googling things and then googling other things from my groin lymph node thinking it was so big and you’re helping me realize it’s not Sitting here thinking I have cancer and looking up all the different symptoms of those cancers and then sitting there asking myself if I feel lethargic Also this worry has screwed up my appetite and then I read about the appetite thing Health anxiety is so real and I never realized how real it is until my groin lymph node was more noticeable than usual This video helped me a lot And now since I searched lymphoma now my phone keeps shooting ads for lymphoma treatment at me 😢
I wish you the best, I am in the same boat right now. How are you getting on? My lymph node under my arm is swollen and as well I’ve got a random lump on my chest near my sternum. I’ve convinced I have cancer and I can’t eat or think about anything else. Health anxiety is the worst, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
@@michelleelizabeth3317 have you gone to see a doctor? I finally went to see a doctor and the doctor understood my concerns because the lump was exactly where the lymph node is but it wasn’t my lymph node Not getting it checked caused more issues than anything. It gave me anxiety, made me lose my appetite, consumed my mind every day But after I got it checked I felt a wave of relief come over me and my appetite was back Our mind is super powerful it can convince us of things that aren’t real My advice is if you’re concerned go get it checked You can create symptoms in yourself by thinking about it From now on if I think somethings wrong I’m going to get it checked because I put myself through so much stress and anxiety for weeks because I diagnosed myself Prayers going out for you and hoping you go get it checked and everything is ok 🙏
I can feel all the lymph nodes on my chest/collar bones area but they are super small... should I be concerned? They do hurt with some pressure too... I'm so scared...
You’ve really helped me so much. I’ve had a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck for 3/4 months now. I had 2 courses of anti biotic which I waited 2 weeks in the space of those until it went down. However it hasn’t gone down, I got blood tests and the doctor told me I’m fine nothing has come up and it’s all clear, he also felt it too. He’s booked me a ultra sound for some peace of mind as he knows I’m a hypochondriac. I’m still panicking daily as I’m still concerned incase it’s something bad as I’m getting ear pain that side and also pain in my head as I have a lump on the back of my head that side, I’ve had this lump again for 3-5 months it’s not grown so could possibly be a gland. Just hoping the ultra sound is ok and the glands go because I’m sooo scared it’s something bad!
mia galilea hey! The doctor said it looked normal and haven’t had my results which means it’s ok! Keep getting pain though so still kinda worried but hopefully it’s nothing, thank you ❤️xxx
Lucy Ledgeway it’s actually very normal for it to stay swollen permanently after an ear/nasal/scalp or whatever infection, and as long as you have no other symptoms, you should leave it alone resting there by itself, i would not fret about it 👁
I'm not kidding - this video saved me. I have severe healthy anxiety and, upon finding an almond-shaped, almond-sized lymph node behind my jaw/under my ear, I freaked out. I literally could (and can) not stop thinking I have lymphoma, because it feels very firm and not movable, which was also terrifying. Now that you mention it, there really is nowhere else for it to move, as it's under the skin and pressed against muscle, tendons and obviously my jaw bone. I'm still going to see the hematologist because there is still a possibility that it's something sinister, but fingers crossed it's not. Anyways, thank you so much for this video, it definitely did calm me down a lot and I feel like I can breathe until my actual appointment, which is next tuesday (21/12). Fingers crossed!
How was you appointment? Your the 1st person I seen that has the exact same thing as me. I called it egg shape but almond is perfect. Plz contact me back. Hope all is well
@@mooselightning8391 Hello! 🖤 Writing back to inform you that it was nothing sinister! My tonsillar lymph node was, indeed, slightly enlarged, but it was nothing but a shotty lymph node. By that, from what I understood after going to the doctor, it just means that the lymph node failed to return to its original size/shape due to this one recurrent infection I had (sinusitis & otitis). The doctor I went to also explained that the tonsillar lymph node, which is the one behind the jaw/under the ear is one of the largest ones and usually not movable/superficial because it's located between muscles and tendons, and also because it's one of the deep cervix lymph nodes. Still, if you're too worried about it, I'd recommend looking into it - just for some peace of mind. It's probably nothing, though, as many people have naturally palpable tonsillar lymph nopes. Take care!
Thank you very much...you have reduced my anxiety on this ...... Your experience was similar to me .. even i was also kept touching my groin swollen lymph node due to anxiety....... mentally you are exact copy of me ...i behave and talk, explain and do research about everything like you .... mentally you are exact copy of me ..i am not kidding..even your age is also similar with me...... anyways thanks for spreading awareness about this...is made my mind calm
I had 3 I was concerned about in my groin about a bean size no issues with them but was freaked out has them examined by a GP and he said two of them was lymph nodes but wasn’t concerning and the biggest one I had which was a bean sized one but also had a extension on it init a smaller one which he said was a muscle something can’t remember what he said but said none of them was concerning but would do blood tests to ease my mind I said I only had my bloods done couple months ago so he checked my results and said yeah they’re fine if any of them was cancerous your white blood cells would be high and they would get very big from the cells trying to attack the cancer :)
sharmeen abdullah Hi, yes I did! I also started to wake up boiling and sweaty at night so thought I was having night-sweats and I felt very itchy all of the time so I really believed I had Lymphoma. Looking back now, I can see that my mind was playing tricks on me!
I had a cold last week and have an enlarged lymph node in my neck. I had an ultrasound and it was 1cm on short axis but 1.9 cm on long axis. I went to an ENT who prescribed me antibiotics to bring the swelling down but it’s been a week and I feel like it’s not shrinking at all.
Just want to share from experience, that after getting the covid vaccine, my lymph nodes around my clavicle felt a bit enlarged and they never went down in size. So, if after vaccination, you feel them, please don't freak out.

I had 4 nodes in my neck over a centimeter. I had a CT scan 2 years ago and nothing remarkable. Also my left collarbone is covered in small rubbery movable nodes , but nothing but smooth bone on the right side . I’m having a checkup next month and I’m going to show her they are still there and have not decreased in size at all tfs This time I’m going to have her check all nodes that she can because that was never done .
Sometimes i feel that i will die from my health anxiety. I have one lymphnode in my groin area around 1 cm (maybe less - i shave a lot) and one in my neck since August after a terrible cold i had for like a week. I've done an ultra sound, detailed blood work (for autoimmune diseases etc.), Ive been to 4 different doctors and each and every one of them said that I'm fine.. but i can't seem to let this go! I always check myself and find new lymph nodes everyyy single day. I haven't felt worse. I really do try but i feel like i have to get checked out again. P.S. i have no other symptoms of lymphoma and this is probably the most stressful year of my life (because of work, health anxiety etc.) To anyone that has ocd.. i feel you, i see you and im here struggling with you.. this us the worst battle I've ever had to fight! 🕊️❤️

I’m glad you’re here too. I hope you feel better by knowing that there are so many of us here that have been through this worry and it’s all turned out to be absolutely fine. 🫶🏽
Thank you for posting this video. I have a question? My lympnodes pain started in my neck muscle, then spread to my chest and upper back. It's been treated with antibiotics. When I touch them, they hurt. Then I feel not nauseous. Been nauseous and gets worse when I touch them. Does this sound familiar? Thank you.. 0:)
As far as lymph nodes are concerned, if you don't have B symptoms, it's probably an infection. An inflamed lymph node is one thing, but B symptoms changes the picture. B symptoms are many. Severe night sweats, fever, chills; unusual itchy skin, and blood work would show a change in your white blood cell count.
I am so grateful I came across your video. My anxiety has been building due to small lymph nodes I can feel in my neck. It would freak me out to a point where I didn’t want to check my neck and discover changes, but at the same time I was obsessive about it and sometimes couldn’t stop touching my neck - felt like I was going crazy! My husband keeps saying it’s nothing, he is so confident and I wish I felt that confidence. But your video has really helped me! Thanks G
Same here i woke n felt in my neck had it before but goes away. I want to know why we get them. N how to keep em away. Yours is nothing to worry about dont look at google they scare me
So I’ve started to worry about some that I have found in my groin. I feel like I can feel many on each side so I’m kinda scared. And I don’t want to burden my family with more worries. But they aren’t big but there’s several so that’s why I’m worried.
Hi there, I'm not quite sure what happening now with you as it's been 3 weeks. Although being able to feel lymph nodes is not necessarily bad, especially in the groin, armpit, and neck regions as they are often easily felt. If the lymph nodes are small, and round(Even a pellet like shape) then you are completely okay. The lymph nodes span quite far down the thigh as well as the groin.
