Buckle up. Literally. We are going on a Lynchburg VA drive through. For like...oh...I don't know... an hour! Hey, if you don't want to hang out for that long, no problem. There should be some chapter markers for you to navigate the video.
I wanted to just give you a look Lynchburg VA as we travel some highways, some neighborhood streets, through some college and unversity campuses, and take a quick visit to Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, a classic putt-putt location, the Lynchburg Regional Airport, and the downtown LOVE sign.

Was this shot on a Sunday morning? There is nobody out and about. Where is everybody? (I mean pedestrians.) Even the college campuses are dead!

Great question! And…I don’t remember. 🙃 The town does feel quite different when colleges are on a break. Lots less movement. But, generally speaking, downtown can feel surprisingly barren on any given day. The Downtown Lynchburg Association does a great job of hosting events. And new businesses are popping up. But it still is more of a small town feel…compared to a city feel.

That’s a good idea! I’m not much of a lively-Saturday-night guy…but I can put that on my list. There’s some! A few establishments to grab a beer, wine, or whiskey. Some venues that host live music.

Just viewing this and I have a few questions. Are there any public transportation or uber if you don't drive? Are the areas walkable to the stores or a car is always needed to get around? Where are the doctors office clinics located and how many hospitals are there in Lynchburg? Thanks for responding.

Great questions. There is public transportation. A bus system. There is an Amtrak station here too. And, yes, you can Uber!

One main hospital. Another one in the town of Bedford. All under the Central Health System.

Some areas are walkable. But the city is 50 square miles. So it is fairly spread out.

My grandpa passed away last year. He was born and raised in Lynchburg and left at 19 and moved to Indiana where we are all from. He and I used to get on Google Earth and he would show me all these spots like Perkins Park. I miss him a lot. Love this video.

Yep. Used to be an old Radisson Suites motel, I believe. They’re really beautifully done.

You will hate it there after 2 months 100% guarentee. Trust me...dont let this poorly edited video and the fake smile in the thumbnail fool you. Its not what its cracked up to be. Notice he didnt drive threw 12 st or Greenfield area. Not to mention the chronic boredom due to no entertainment scene. The mall sucks there because it 1 floor out dated. Everyone has a lifetime miserable from lack of excitement so they turn to hard drugs. College kids call it lamesburg. It's not all happy music and sunshine there. Lynchburgs fireman Dan needs to snap into reality.

your full screen is not full screen, it's like 198p's 3:4 ration. And the music is really annoying, it does not fit in with the ride and there is no way one can relax. No one would be playing that on their radio if they were driving. Just do what you said at the beginning, no noise just enjoy the drive. Thanks for posting though, I enjoyed watching.
