My mom tends to be a pretty chill person when it comes to movies, but when Lynda Carter turned and faced the camera my mom squealed like a teenage fangirl and said "She's the original Wonder Woman! I used to watch her on TV!" It was so cute seeing my mom return to her childhood self for a minute; it definitely made me smile. :)
I did EXACTLY the same thing. I - LITERALLY - LOST - MY - MIND when I saw Lynda Carter. I was totally on a high. My son was like, “Mom, calm down.” I got so emotional. I’m losing my mind right now from just seeing this clip again. I wish, wish, wish that they would do a sequel with Lynda in it, telling the story of this warrior.
@@rickovery I doubt it's her "name" that people think of when they think of Linda Carter in the Wonder Woman costume! 🤨👠 If that's what they think of they are weird! 🤣😆😂🦸🦇
What an absolutely wonderful surprise. In the movie, Asteria is described as “first among Amazons” and the greatest of them all because of her heroism-casting Lynda Carter, the ORIGINAL Wonder Woman (and thus the true “first among Amazons”) is the perfect choice. There are also plenty of small details to remind us: notice the large bracelets we see peeking under her cloak, and how she reveals herself by spinning around, a neat homage to the famous spinning transformation sequence from the series. And then it’s perfectly capped with that wink-Ms. Carter truly HAS “been doing this a long time,” inspiring people all over the world (but especially little girls- “You saved my daughter!”) into believing they could be superheroes, too. Without Lynda Carter, there would be no Wonder Woman movies. Thank you for your long legacy, Ms. Carter! :D
It was so freaking awesome! But I didn’t get Asteria reference to just now. What an awesome lady tho! I’ve only just found Wonder Woman on RU-vid, tell me in your opinion does the new movies measure up in any way? My mom loves ‘em!
This scene alone captures what the film couldn’t and what the first film did: a sense of WONDER and fun in heroes. Hopefully WW3 gives gal back her glory that she’s rightfully earned in the role
I had a feeling that Asteria was still alive and wandering the earth. I'm glad they got Lynda to play her. In the next movie she should team up with Gal and yell at her for ruining her armor 😆
When I first saw this scene I got a huge grin on my face! I flashed back to watching Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman every week when I was 7! As much as I think Gal Gadot is great in the role, Lynda Carter is my childhood fave!
Lynda’s beauty cannot be matched, Godot isn’t even close. It’s Lynda’s Mexican blood and her cheekbones matched with her blue eyes that give her that spark!!!
My mom is by the biggest fan of Wonder Woman I know, and my dad is one of those people that still has that 80’s nostalgia running through his veins. When they saw Lynda Carter, it was the first time they exploded over a cameo appearance
Seeing her at the end was the highlight of this movie. The little boy in me screamed, cried and smiled. Thank you Lynda for being part of my childhood and memories.
I would give nearly anything for my mom to have lived long enough to see this... she was Obsessed with Linda Carter as wonder woman.... It would have meant the world to me to be able to take her to the movies and watch her face light up seeing her
Lynda Carter is a star. She shines wherever she goes. Maybe it's her beautiful blue eyes. But she has that charisma and elegance that many Hollywood actresses don't have.
No surgery. No Botox. No boob job. Lynda is all natural beauty. Even in her 70s she's absolutely fiiiiine. The WW show was way before my time, but you go back and watch some parts from the show and you'll see how much of a goddess this woman was during her younger days. It's not hyperbole to say Lynda Carter may just be the most beautiful woman to ever grace Hollywood.
oh shes definitely had work done, just nothing too drastic and she knows when to stop, which is the most important part. Lynda Carter is a perfect example of how injections can look great and natural if done correctly.
Carter is the very embodiment of charisma, makes you wish she was 40 years younger to be the modern Wonder Woman... don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Gadot, but Carter stole the entire movie in less than a minute.
A good friend of mine was a diehard classic WW fan. She passed away about a month before this movie came out, we were supposed to go see it together. When I saw Linda turn I around I broke down in tears. I wish she had the chance to see her childhood idol on the big screen. RIP Shana🙏🏾
As a guy who’s loved Wonder Woman since the tv show and the Superfriends I’ve loved Lynda Carter. Like Christopher Reeve it was like the comic book character come to life and for a young comic book fan that was magic. This scene alone made the movie special. Gal is pretty but Lynda is beautiful and for me will always be Wonder Woman.
Lynda Carter IS Wonder Woman! Watched every episode of the original series and was mesmerized by there grace, power and talent. Gal is great but there is only ONE Lynda Carter! RESPECT
The moment I seen the hair I knew it was Lynda Carter. No on has her volume of beautiful hair. The light streaks of hair made me happy to know she's the Wonder Woman of my childhood.
God that woman does NOT age. When I was in the first grade in 1985, watching Wonder Woman, Linda Carter was the first woman to made me realize that there was a real difference between boys and girls, and I liked it. X-D
This was more than a cameo. Lynda had another brief scene. It is a new character. Asteria. First mentioned in the beginning of the movie as we saw the statue. Diana gave a quick backstory with a glimpse.. Then we see Asteria in the set up for WW3.
Me and my mom saw this movie in theaters and I had no idea about this until mom screamed at this scene that she used to love Wonder Woman as a kid… she screamed like I would have when I saw someone of my day and age.. goes to show how much we’re alike same she passed away though almost a year ago… love you mom
What would’ve made this cameo much better is if they introduced Lynda Carter earlier and had her meet Diana. Maybe they could’ve made Lynda Carter the archeologists who “discovered” the armor and gives it to Wonder Woman (as a nice “passing torch” moment from Lynda to Gal). Then you have this exact post-credits scene where it’s revealed that Lynda was Asteria all along.
If there is more than one thing redeemable about this movie, it's this scene. Can't wait to see Lynda and Gal together in the next Wonder Woman movie. Two generations of Dianas as two generations of Amazon warriors
Lynda Carter is returning as Asteria for the third and final Wonder Woman. It is expected that Asteria will recruit Diana for a mission that will end with both returning to the Island.
Having her play Asteria was genius. Felt so much nostalgia in this scene and I've never even seen Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman! Know her from her beautiful pictures and fanart and all.
“Say what you want…” as if there’s anything to disagree with or something different to be said about the movie other than it’s total horsesh1t of a movie
To me, (just opinion), it's very in character with the kind of dialogue she had to work with in the 70's series. I think this is a tongue-in-cheek nod to that as well.
1. I just realized this was recommended to everyone within the last hour😭 2. I always get so happy when people think it’s Gal because it shows how young Lynda looks🙌🏾🙌🏾
You might want to look at recent photos of Lynda. Any plastic surgery she has had is, clearly, very minimal. Nothing like some of the older actresses and models who fill their faces and/or have had them lifted and pulled back many times.
She was the president in the CW series Supergirl and I believe when the first Wonder Woman came out they did promo with Supergirl wearing something of Wonder Woman’s and Linda just smiled.
