In this type of situation, I’d rather not be told. We weren’t together, we were taking a break. If a “hook up” made you realize you still wanted me and not someone else...good.

@@julzalta6466 right?! Am I insane or are the rules for "being on a break" not universal? One couple could decide cheating is allowed and the other could very well decide it's not allowed. If you break up it's clear. But if you go on a break what's the difference even between a breakup if cheating is also allowed? Why not just break up and re-evaluate later? Being on a break, in my head, meant you take a break from the relationship, but you're not broken up. Aka no new relationships during that time unless you both decide on it. I'm not even a millenial. This whole concept of being on a break and then cheating is just ridiculous. Break the hell up if you want sex with other people. That's the definition of wanting to break up for as far as I know.

Stop thinking friends or exes (they may get back together latter, or not, that's the beauty of this, if they made up their minds about being together they wouldn't be taking a break in the first place genius) walk through life with a name tag on their forehead that says, Cindy's ex, Patty's friends, Lucy's brother, so everyone else can keep their distance in order to avoid offending you.
