I've seen over 100 concerts from 1986 til today...I was at this concert and this may have been THE BEST...which is saying something because: 1. LS is not one of my top 10 bands and 2. not one original member performed...but Ricky and Johnnie et al killed and I am SO THANKFUL I went... Leonard Skinner...your band will live FOREVER!
Long as little bro is up there carrying on for Ron Who cares. Nothing remains the same forever. Except the spirit. The south never fell. It still lives on.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC AND AWESOME. THANK YOU THANK YOU. YALL ARE AWESOME. ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAVORITES SIMPLE MAN. I NEED YOU. THE LAST REBEL. BORN TO RUN. YEP STILL HOPING TO MAKE IT TO THE ST AUGUSTINE FLORIDA CONCERT IN OCTOBER MY 65TH BIRTHDAY THANK YOU YALL
The band has evolved over the years & even though it's not the original members many of them have been in the band for decades & evidently they still have a sizable audience so who are we to tell them what to do. Hey it's only Rock n Roll.
To everyone who's noted that this is a tribute band ... Ricky Medlocke played on LS's first recordings in '71-'72 (as heard on "First and Last"). Rejoined them in '96 (29 years of service, including the formative years). Johnny has filled in for his late brother for 36 years, and knew the prime years' lineup guys personally. Gary gave his approval for them to continue after he was gone. Still enough Skynyrd DNA and sound here to keep the brand name, IMO. As a huge Ronnie/LS fan, my view is that Ronnie et al are smiling somewhere that an incarnation of the band still plays on.
Ricky Medlocke was a Session player, and not really in the band, or at least playing on stage. The band has used this defense in previous litigation: "After the crash, Van Zant's widow, now named Judy Van Zant Jenness, and fellow founding members Gary Rossington and Allen Collins entered into a blood oath that no one would again play under the Lynyrd Skynyrd name" Why don't they live by it now?
I saw them in Salinas in the Rodeo Grounds in 2008, I loved them, they carried of the tradition. My knock on them is they are a tribute band only, they don't write new material.
This is Lynyrd Skynyrd with people replacing the members who are no longer on this earth while they also acknowledge them. Planning to see them this year.
One of my favorite bands. Watched them at West Palm Beach on July 21, 2023. The guitar riff was so intense, you actually felt the strings pulsating on your chest. F'ing amazing!
There are those that say Lynyrd Skynyrd is just a tribute band. But while not the original members this band is so much more than a tribute band. They are considered family by the original members families and have their blessings to continue. Name me another 'tribute' band than sells out stadiums. Certainly not the joke mock band that now calls themselves Molly Hatchet. This band in its current lineup is still stellar!
@@DCB728 when you post a response...at least do so sober! You ramble and stumble about "playing drums" blah blah blah "guitar for a year" and reference NO ONE ! HA HA HA HA HA HA 😂 😄 😆! What a moron! Hey bozo...you sober?? Want to try again?
@@DCB728 They often add a 2nd night to sold out shows. When they toured with ZZ Top this year they sold out every show! Yawn....you boor me now pal! Be gone...you can respond but because I've blocked your sorry whining arse...I will not see your pathetic cry baby response! I win! I always do! Bye bye! Toodle-oo! See ya later! Off you go! Scoot along now. Adios! Cry and bye! HA HA HA HA 😂 😄 😆 🤣!
That's easy for people to say Johnny Van zant's been the lead singer of that band for over 30 something and they eventually all passed away but those family still get part of that money and who else is going to play the music any better p then the people it was handed down to so just enjoy the music that's what it's really all about
Skynyrd lovers flock from any town USA to see Skynyrd play Skynyrd music and always will. By the way Ricky was a Skynyrd wayyyy back then and still is. Haters can just stay home!
@@lockdown70 How do you know, have you spoken to Ronnie, Gary, Allan, Billy........ They aren't doing a service to the fans. I'm all for them keeping the thing going, but how about change the name or mention that none of the members are original. This isn't Lynyrd Skynyrd, it is a Cover Band
