This is a re-upload of the same video from December. It was taken down for four seconds of unimportant imagery that have been excised, but the rest of the video remains the same. I've been quite busy the past two months but I am planning to return to a more consistent upload schedule, so look forward to videos on topics ranging from Bloodborne to the Bible!

An algorithm led me to this video 2 years after it's uploading. It would seem that negativity about negativity about entertainment is also apparently an engaging form of entertainment.

Excellent work, the concept of "objective truth" is so very problematic when you start digging under the surface. It's one of my favourite topics, particularly when it comes to who we trust to talk about truth - your initial observations are spot-on about techbros who come out to mea culpa and beat their chest about this "post-truth" ness.

yup, everyone's opinion is the truth of reality nowadays... objective truth is so 'problematic" that soon there will be no world to save or solve problems in

Hit so many good points. Keep up the good work! Linking philosophical theory directly to real life happenings is always an enjoyable watch

They've mad their millions and now they've become do gooders for us by exposing the baddies. How convenient

Great video, thoroughly enjoyed it. That said... It's a video implicitly claiming authority while criticising a film for doing the same. The twitter hater with a twitter account, lamenting the incommensurability of the language games. Is it not the case that the incommensurability of our criteria for truth is just your own narrative version of truth? And if so, are we left in complete relativism, unable to understand each other? I would argue that there is a deeper game, language game that is grounded in some of the most basic conditions of what it means to live. While the incommensurability is widely apparent in complex narratives, that only speaks to the complexity and diversity of life. A refusal to the possibility of a commensurable metanarrative speaks only to a denial of the basic principles of existence - it can be denied only through them. A person's suicide as a last message to the world may be interpreted in various language games, yet the act of interpretation itself is unavoidable. To live is to narrate - is a metanarrative we all share. Around 10:30 is a perfect example of that - truth is a rhetorical artefact here only on one level of abstraction - that of narrative production on a particular topic, such as the contesting of facticity. Yet at the same time, giving it narrative produces a truth judgement, not unlike that of Kant's judgement of beauty in the third critique. Yes, it is only your judgement (or my judgement in writing this comment), but by producing it, we are producing a claim to objectivity. And no amount of postmodern deconstruction can destroy this metanarrative, because to engage with it is to be subsumed into it.

What I didn't like about the film is it offers no concrete solutions to the problems it highlights. It isn't until the end credits that you actually hear these people barely begin to offer solutions. It makes you wonder if there actually isn't an actionable solution. If there was, it would most certainly be more prominent in the film.
