I love how all the crystal gems sing their themes, but with slight lyrical changes 'Is there something we can do' - Amethyst's *Tower of Mistakes*, original line was 'Is there something I can do?' 'We do it for you' - Pearl's *Do it for Her*, original line was 'You do it for her' 'All the lo-o-ove' - Garnet's *Stronger than You*, original line was 'I am made of lo-o-ove' On my rewatch, also noticed that right at the end, steven says, 'That I... I've already changed.' Not only alluding to most of the idea behind the au (?) but also to the song that he sung in the SU movie to Spinel, 'Change', with the original line being 'That I... I can make a change'. I find it ironic since based off of the vibes of the video, Steven himself is going through a bit of a raging negative change that is immediate and harmful, similarly to Spinel, rather than a progressive good change that comes naturally. But unlike Spinel, he has nobody to bring him back to his senses, let alone in song form. Nobody except the gems, yet they couldn't be the voice of reason for him like he was for her. I know these things are probably obvious, but this is mainly just a personal note for myself because they're really cool details that I'd like to look back on in the future. I also wouldn't mind others opinions, so I'll probably leave this comment up until I feel like taking it down

I love everything about this song First off, Steven being so fed up of how everyone manage to live their life to the fullest while he is stuck in constant fear and paranoia of a disaster to happen and for him to fix so that he can feel he still matters to others because without that no one will need nor want to be around him and will end up leaving him to do something else with their lives This thought finally pushes him over the edge and decides to take Jasper's advice and that the only way to solve all of his problem is to destroy anything and anyone that stands in his way as revenge for everything he's been through and for not being repaid back in turn When the Crystal Gems finds out about this they are obviously horrified of how far Steven has fallen and they hope that they can get through to him and save him and make him see that there are people that does care about him and that there not gonna leave him in the dust but Steven is far too gone to see any of it I also love that when the Crystal Gems are singing along with Steven trying to get through to him they're lines are from songs they sung from the show, for Pearl's It's "Do It For Her" with lines like "We Do It For You... And We'd Do It Again" from that song, Pearl teaches Connie that you have stand by and protect who you truly love no matter what even if it cost you your life, now she's sings that they were always there to protect Steven when he was still a kid and that if they have accomplish that then she hopes that they can do it again just like before For Amethyst's It's "Tower Of Mistakes" with these lines "Is There Something We Can Do?" from this song, when she sings about needing to be stronger to feel important like when she fuse with Garnet and they nearly lost control because of it and she felt a little guilty about afterwards, she also feel that Garnet is better off with somebody else to fuse with like Pearl with form Sardonyx even tho she feels a bit salty about it, now Amethyst sings that she wants to know that if Steven needs anything that they'll make it happen for his sake And last for Garnet It's "Stronger Than You" with the line "Lo-o-ove, All The Lo-o-ove, You're All We Lo-o-ove" the song tells that Garnet that even though she's a fusion she still loves herself despite Jasper's protests, she sings that fusion isn't a cheap way to become stronger but a sense of love and trust with the gem your fuse with truly making the fusion stronger and powerful, now she sings that even though that Steven said that he's not that kid anymore, Garnet said that they'll still love him no matter what and that he is still made of love and joy that brighten up there day and now they want to return the favor Heck even from beginning to end there's a slight sound of the song "Change" when Steven sung to Spinel that even though he isn't able to change her he knows that the only person that can change Spinel is well... herself, it also reflect that to himself too at the end of the movie that there's no happily ever after and that there is still work for him to do and he needs to accept that, but now he has have enough of it and finally snapped and decided that if he can't live happily then why should everybody else? Anyway love the song 10/10

The part with Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl singing their own iconic sonigs in harmony with Steven was divine. Really reflects how much the Gems' love for Steven has grown through every hardship they've endured together, and are determined to save Steven from himself at any and all costs.

Yo, in the start of the song, when the Gems first appear, Garnet changes poses before everyone else! Of course, that doesn't hold up to the end of the video, but i think that might be a nod to the fact that Garnet can see branches of the future, therefore, would react faster? This is awesome btw

I love how when Steven has his outbursts in this song, his hair bursts out like a firework, or even...a supernova. It's a perfect parallel to the star of the Crystal Gems.

I like this is the opposite of Pink Dimond’s life, going from a cruel and destructive being to someone who cares for everything and believes everyone deserves a second chance

I like how this AU is a deconstruction of the idea where Steven embracing Jasper's violent worldview and shattering the Diamonds would solve his problems. Instead of using violence to save the day and make everyone happier, Steven becomes a second Jasper and completes his transformation into the villain of his own story; Steven rejects his gem heritage by committing genocide against all of Homeworld and embraces his humanity in the worst way possible by deciding to wipe out all Gems in the universe.

Okay, now do that again” (Do It For Her). Garnet: “Lo-o-ove, all the Lo-o-ove. You’re all we lo-o-ove, lo-o-ove.” (TOOW) - “I am made o-o-o-o-of Lo-o-o-o-ove…” (Stronger Than You). Then after it’s just the main crystal gem theme song. So a lot of very nice references!

Bear with me for a minute, I like to imagine what could be a Steven Universe fighting game with this version of Steven as the antagonist while the previous versions of him along with all the gems have to stop his rampage, if it had the right development choices it could be a banger just like this song

Frankly, in Steven Universe Future, i was FULLY expecting steven to go full villain. I am very happy at how the ending turned out, what with corrupted steven and everything, but this goes to show the potential a real Villain Steven could have been like.

God, this song exactly would have changed the whole negative opinion of SU: Future. Imagine if after the scene in the hospital where Steven flashes back to all the terrible experiences of his childhood, his mental breakdown is the slow onset of the idea that Gem kind is not only the cause of all his PTSD but the pain of so many others. Cue this song where Steven reaches his limit and struggles to believe Gems should have a second chance. Great work Jake, and everyone involved. Bravo!

Amazing song! The lyrics were on point and very fitting, while the artwork and casting for voices were lovely choices for the characters. I love the additional lyrics in the background that Pearl, Garnet, and Amythest sing, which are actual songs from the show. it adds a sort of extra depth to the whole thing, especially when they come together at the end with "We Are The Crystal Gems". Wonderful job Jake and crew!!

It's strange to think how easy it could have been for this to happen. One slip up and Steven could have been pushed to this. From the fact at the end you see Spinel is shattered, I'm guessing she won, and Steven snapped.

I'm excited for anymore stuff from this version of steven cause honestly? It's rad as heck. Kid went through a lot and seeing everyone moving on while he's stuck with the consequences and brunt of what the gems and his mom did. So it makes sense that he's snap like a dried twig and decide that gem destruction would be the best course of action.

idk if people noticed but Steven is literally singing 'Change' from the Movie but mixed with his own evil lyrics. Listen to 2:14 (specifically the 'That I...., I've already changed')and tell me that its not different to what Steven was singing at the start of Change. Edit: I think everyone noticed it, but at the end of the song, Steven uses the Diamond's powers to shatter the gems on Earth, this time with Pink Diamond's powers to make it work. Last time they only corrupted the gems on Earth (besides Pearl and Garnet as Rose used her shield to protect themselves from the blast) BECAUSE it was only Blue, Yellow and White, leaving out Pink. But this AU, Steven is too far gone and uses his powers with the Diamonds to successfully wipe out EVERY gem on Earth, with NOTHING to protect Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl from the blast. It's a PERFECT parallel to the previous attempt that failed, and a possible outcome that could have very well happened in the actual series. Although that does leave a question. WHY did the Diamonds help Steven out with shattering the gems on Earth? I'm presuming all the events from S1 - The Movie happened normally, meaning that Blue, Yellow AND White wouldn't want to do any more harm to the planet, so what happened? Now Jake did say that hopefully this song gets an actual animated music video, which will maybe answer my question, but what truly happened in this AU that caused the Diamonds to help Steven? My theory is that since White has the Mind Control ability, Steven mind controlled her to send that blast with the other diamonds who somehow agreed? Or maybe Steven mind controlled them using White's ability? I geniunely don't know why they would even think to shatter all the gems on Earth now that Steven changed them, so who knows. Edit 2: The comments answer this question partly, saying that Steven had an outburst of energy, but why do we see yellow and blue light in the second to last panel? I have been watching Caleb for almost a year now and having him collab with Jakeneutron is just amazing.

What a cool song. The only things I'm confused about are why Yellow and Blue's auras are next to Steven's at 2:14, and why White's isn't. We can see his diamond aura is the biggest (and tinged pink) but there are two others that are definitely tinged blue and yellow. Are they there trying to stop him in that moment? It doesn't look like it. Where's White, did the body swap therapy scene between them go much worse in this alternate timeline? Edit: Not sure how I didn’t put together that he was going after White and not just Homeworld. She does make more sense as the cause of it all. It still looks like the other two diamonds are shining next to him at that moment, which doesn’t make sense given what he’s trying to do. But it doesn’t look like they’re stopping him. Still so interested in this story and the others in this potential mod. Hopefully we get to see the stories expanded on in Steven's Nightmare. 🤞

(2:14) The way you interpreted the 3 being shot at with the colors of the diamonds kinda matches when Rose was there to protect three with her shield. Knowing how powerful Steven is at Pink Mode, obviously he would obliterate every single gem due to how (I think) Jasper influenced him in this AU. Spinel's shattered gem indicates that she probably WON over Steven, forcing HIM to change and not her.

This scene just felt SO amazing watching...Seeing all those characters from the previous movies together, plus the song choice is amazing and SO fitting.
