I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Lytro Illum Infinite Light Field Camera. It is so crazy how fast technology progresses. My father purchased this brand new 3 years ago and now this technology is featured in cell phones like the Samsung Galaxy S9. However, you can purchase one of these for a cool and easy to use digital camera. They are relatively inexpensive now and if you can get one for under $500 I would suggest purchasing one. If you are a full time paid photographer, I would not recommend this camera for you. I hope you enjoy my review. Please feel free to ask questions and share your thoughts.

Those "streak lines" have nothing to do with dimensions. Those are zebra lines. They're telling your your background is blown out.

Glad to know. I heard they are used in filming a lot but I don't really record anything. From using it, that seemed to be what was either in focus or not in focus.

Technology that was ahead of its time. If it was evolved would have eliminated a lot of expensive lens and wreak havoc to other manufacturers. Probably an excellent product for surveillance footage

You can not use the focal feature with out having the software. That is why this technology was quickly set aside. Now they incorporate this technology in most modern phones. That's how fast technology rapidly advances.

@@halflifevanlife2590 do you still use your with the adapt software?or dose your software fade out since there is no web support?

@@thesaltent Unfortunately fade out because there is no support. At this point it is basically used as a paper weight. I just don't think they marketed the technology right and everything else surpassed it too fast.

I was interested in the Camera since it was announced, sadly I couldn't afford it at the time it hit the market. Still intrigued in the Features it is offering, especially the 3d Pictures. In Case anyone is searching for the Software, there's a Forum which preserves the Software after the shutdown of the official Lytro Homepage. lightfield-forum.com/lytro-de/lytro-archiv/ It's in German Language tho.
