Since this is the most tourist city I found knowing some Spanish useful but there were restaurant waiters, Uber drivers, tour guides and shop owners who spoke fluent English. You can definitely get by without knowing Spanish. You can use your phone to translate menus or anything else you need. Google Translate is an app that will help.
