I love that he followed that up with "You should see the look on your face!" and then just snort-laughs. That might be a deep cut -- gorillas snort-laugh like that when they're being tickled, and M'Baku was originally called Man-Ape in the comics. Also, the actor has more of a deep-throated laugh when he's out of character.

They really should've given him the mantle. You had to be deserving of the purple herb in order to be black panther, you don't just consume it to become the panther.. Mbaku is a warrior, leader, respects his people & traditions.. He had the courage to challenge TChalla when needed, and save his life as well. Wakanda really lost its chance here..

But M’Baku arrived and announced that she’s not coming, hinting Shuri’s retirement. M’Baku challenges for the throne and becomes king of Wakanda.
