If you tried to tell someone what happened in this show it would sound like it's a made up parody. Geist just walks into this conflict and randomly kills people on every side, instead of having character motivation he's just insane.
It's really not that ridiculous. He was a super soldier created for a single purpose; fighting. And so the movie is about what such a being's existence might be like, especially if it is removed from the situation for which it was created.
@@kforcer Not saying it doesn't make sence within the story they're telling, it's just very unusual for a movie plot to have the protagonists motivation be to kill randomly without any redeeming quality. I mean Blade Runner technically had a character with similar background but showing him from a more human side at the end. Not saying one of those approaches is better but i respect Geist a lot for going so strong in the direction fo just a cool guy killing stuff, the movie is so much fun to me especially because it's not trying to make his character something more than that

You do realize most anime that we got here back then was just the edgy direct to video shit cause licenses were cheap. Even then there seems to be more quantity than quality now (tho this was always the case)
@@mondobizarrro5468 Pretty much this. What we got here in the states back in the day was cream of the crop teenage edgelord shlock, but in reality most anime has always been shows about little girls doing little girl things.
At the risk of sounding like a boomer, I miss this era of anime where they didn't shy back from antiheroes that were both cool and morally ambiguous. Geist would very much be a monster in our society. Now a lot of anime try to make the protagonist as relatable as possible to an audience that mostly sits at home and so we get heaps of similar-looking, bland guys. People can shit on MD Geist, Hokuto no Ken, Cybernetics Guardian and similar anime all they want, I still find the protagonists of these anime way more interesting.
You don't sound like a boomer because very few boomers watch anime. Boomer refers to the postwar generation born from the late 40s until the early 60s. Most older anime fans would be the children or even grandchildren of boomers.

My idea for MD Geist 3: About 30 years have passed since the events of MD Geist 2: Death Force Jerra has long been rebuilt and is a vibrant and bustling metropolis. Although Krauser is dead he is worshipped as a Christ-like figure throughout all the planet colonies of earth who sacrificed his own life to save Jerra from the devil Geist. This is the story that the protagonist a beautiful young woman named Vashti has been told all of her life. But when Vashti one day sneaks into the restricted zone she meets someone who not only changes her life but the entire galaxy. That woman is her real mother Vaiya who remembers everything vividly. The Krauser religion is a scam created by the earth government to maintain control. And Jerra was never rebuilt. The original Jerra was destroyed and Vaiya is one of the few survivors who escaped. Vashti is the daughter of Vaiya and Krauser. Vashti reforms Nexrum to lead an assault on the corrupt earth government but she is hopelessly outmatched. However despite her mother Vaiya’s warning Vashti finds Dr Breston’s research on the MDS program and revives Geist! Will Vashti be able to use the most dangerous soldier and defeat the evil earth government? Or will the ghosts of war haunt her just like they did with Vaiya!
There is a lot of merit to making a character intentionally less relatable to its target audience. It would be a breath of fresh air to everyone to see a badass protagonist that is above their level, rather than lowered to our mundane one. Viewers who seek out anime like this do so as a brief respite from their problems. That said, there's nothing wrong with desiring a main character that you can sympathize with, but that's another topic entirely. I agree that characters like Geist are preposterously over the top, but that's why we like him. He's Dangerous, Most Dangerous. We strive to be, too.
@@youngkappakhan I think in Geist's head he's just one army destroying another army for the cause of protecting earth from invaders. He's so hellbent on destroying the Nexrum army that he'll do anything to achieve his goal, which was all successfully programmed into him by that weird scientist dude from the sequel. The real question is why tf the Nexrum army stays on Jerra instead of invading earth, which is never answered.
I time when manga was quality. Now it's awful dross. This track is Godly as is the manga. I've seen a lot of manga and this one is full of energy all the way from start to end.

Geist was originally called Thunder Warrior in the American localization of the show. Thunder Warriors were also the Emperor's first proto space marines that were juiced up superhuman psychopaths. MD Geist is definitely one of those.

to be honest, even though Geist is my favorite hero, hes no match. Kenshiro have the Musou Tensei, which allows him to instantly dodge attacks and teleports behind the opponent, he can also copy the enemy's special technique and make an improved version using the hokuto shinken. Violence Jack is one of the three parts of Fudo Akira's soul, hes also the manifestation of humanity's violence, he can keep reviving unless the violence on the human heart disppear, he can defeat Geist. the best fight imo would be Chirico Cuvie vs Geist.
