M.I.L.S Plate Alternative 

@@sandrawilson6540 oh gosh yes it's so annoying when the edges turn up, I know exactly what you mean. Mils definitely sorts that out. However I have also tiled sections of my modulars onto the kerbside to tackle this and it works. I'll try and show some of that when I do my future video on foam boards and heavier buildings. I love the ingot pieces too, it's a nice look. Especially for the cobbled road look. I did consider round and quarter tiles but wanted something more linear in the end. It's great when they have the parts you need and especially good if it's plates as the new boxes are way better to stack plates. The old cups were a nightmare for plates. The cost is a major issue, so if you can find a cheaper source of bricks then problem solved! Saying that, it's still a lot of parts used up. Thanks for the comment 😊

@@BflyBricks It was also many hauls and visits to get it complete. If you are not in a hurry, you can often get things much cheaper. And yeah the boxes are gold! They work so much better.

Yeah it's always risky moving modulars 😄 I've had a few mishaps over the years too. For sure it's not as easy to pick up from a table compared to mils plates. But realistically how often does one move their modulars? I don't have any issues, as the modulars are just sat on top of the foam. They can't slip or move as they're a bit heavy anyway and there's decent friction to hold them in place, that said it is still quite easy to slide them around on top of the foam with a bit of force. I would find it easier to reposition my modulars on the foam than having to break the connection of Mils plates and slide each section out of the way to get to the building I want to move. But one advantage of Mils is strength, you're right, your building or road section would be very sturdy.

​@@BflyBricks Another advantage of MILS is that you can hide lighting cables within them. You don't need to put technic pins to secure the plates together, if you have to move the plates around (for example, when setting up new buildings or rearranging the city).

@@MrBKDoll Sounds great Brian, fantastic to get the kids involved too. Yeah there's definitely a compromise to make on strength, but regular modulars on their baseplates are pretty sturdy anyway and as you say it's not often that things are moved around. Cheers for the comment 😊

Cheers, it's a 5mm board or 0.197inch. Usually a standard size at craft or hardware stores. Hope that helps 😊
