We take these two fine pistols and compare the compact 4" and 3.6". I can't decide which I like better! For the test we shot Blazer 147 JFP.

As I've gotten older, with the corresponding mild deterioration in vision I've found that I shoot shorter barrel pistols better than those with a longer sight radius. I have a P30sk with an LEM trigger that I shoot better (slow fire for groups) than basically anything I own. I attribute this to the front site being closer to what has become my natural reading distance where things are actually in focus.

If you do a follow-up include the new 3.6 subcompact 2.0. I love these new 2.0s in any flavor. The 4 is nice for nightstand gun. My hands aren't big and it is close enough to full size and Still versatile. The 3.6 is nice for appendix and the venerable 9C with the new 2.0 compact is even better. Have you tried the venerable 3.6" with the new X-grip sleeve adapter for the 15-round 2.0 Compact magazines? It is awesome with either that or the "cheesy" looking Hyve Grip Adapter and MORE versatile than the 3.6" Compact. If I was buying new for concealed carry I would still choose the 3.6" Compact. If I was buying the 4.25" full size or the 4.0" Compact, I would get the 4.0" Compact. Out of the 3.6 o r 4.0" 2.0 Compacts, I guess it would depend on what you were going to do with it and how to concealed carry and your body type. I would probably get the 3.6" over the 4.0" unless I wanted a duty gun. I find the 4.0" with the heavier barrel more shootable.

Do you have a full size 4.25" or 5"? Frankly the M&P 5" is my favorite range gun. I personally prefer 4" pistols for EDC. Never had a problem concealing them with the right holster. I sold the 3.6 compact preferring my 4" or the subcompact. As far as recoil I never noticed much difference in the compact versions. As far as the P320, I've owned the P320 and frankly was underwhelmed by the tigger and the way the gun shot. Some people love them, but for me they didn't work.
