I appreciate the comparison but imo these are even better together. The shield plus is a wonderful gun to carry every day and the bodyguard 2.0 is a fantastic pocket gun when the shield plus may be too large or you cannot carry it.
@Myemnhk you will be completely happy! I have 7 of their holsters, and they are all very nice quality. I have 4 of the comfort carry IWB hybrid holsters, 1 OWB paddle kydex, and 2 of the leather IWB holsters. They are all fantastic, and they are a great company who takes pride in making quality holsters
Finally! A review of the Bodyguard 2.0 that compares it to the Shield instead of the Ruger LCP Max. While the Bodyguard and LCP are similar in size and caliber, it's always seemed to me that the LCP was the true pocket pistol, meant to be carried in a pocket, while the new Bodyguard was designed to appeal to folks who find even a micro-compact 9mm too large or too "snappy," and want an even smaller holster gun as an EDC. Well done. 😊
I own both! And when i want to go just a tad meatier yet, i carry my new M&P 2.0 with the 3.6" barrel. I absolutely adore all three. Love me some S&W.😍😍😍
I’ve had one for only a couple weeks now, 100 rounds through it, no issues, and both mags locked back multiple times. It’s seems like a sweet little piece, and I bought it to replace my LCPII. But still waiting to get a few hundred more rounds through it, and receiving my holsters I’ve ordered, to replace my LCP. Do I like it better than my shields? No, the shields are the pinnacle of a carry weapon right now, but, if I’m truthful, I’m carrying my pocket pieces far more often than my 9’s.
I’d recommend some things for the shield plus. The handle it grips are excellent for this gun. Or even just adding grip tape to the front as a memory pad for your off hand thumb. Also the Magguts magazine extensions. Turns the 10 into a 13 and the 13 into a 15 with the same conceal ability. Also the pinky lip on the magguts is perfect.
Talon grips and magguts is how mine is set up. 13+1 using the 10 round magazine is amazing, and runs flawlessly. I suspect Magguts will be looking at the BG 2.0 mags as well. Flat spring, new follower and baseplate, seems doable.
I carry the shield plus or shield 2.0 integrated green laser every day! I pocket carry a Kahr p380 for pocket carry only when I’m in a gun free zone. Not sure if this 2.0 BG will make me want to switch it with the Kahr. Def looks nice
i hear body bodyguard 2.0 is not optics ready. But, does that mean you can't mount any sites on it? maybe you can explain the meaning? I'm new. I really like the bodyguard 2.0 but also like to idea of being able to have a laser sight.
The slide is only 1.1” wide man no one makes sights for something so small😂 it’s definitely more of a minimalist deep conceal gun if you want lazers, lights & sights I’d just stick with the shield plus still compact and comfortable to carry but not so small to where you can’t customize it to a degree
Apples and oranges; different calibers, different modes of carry, different target audience. Same company, but making a comparison doea not make sense to me.
Doesn't Crimson Trace make a laser/light combo that clamps onto the trigger guard and hugs the dust cover? I have a grip-activated laser that attaches that way.
Great video. I love both of these guns. I own the shield plus and have held the 2.0 bodyguard but haven’t shot it yet. Did you find the bodyguard 2.0 to be soft recoiling like some RU-vidrs are saying? “It feels like a 22” also are you from south Florida? It sounds to me like you have a Miami accent, which is where I’m from.
