I agree Pletnev is magnificent with Tchaikovsky ! I never heard something this close but I think Horowitz still was better in everything... his range of colours and dynamics was even more subtle and he had a unique musical conception. The difference between a glistening stone and a shining star..
spellbinding.. utmost musical and technical perfection. I think it was recorded in 1990, and in the first half of the concert Pletnev played Mussorgsky's Tableaux. I could be wrong..
