Just got a 3.0 s.i. (08). I went from a Mazda CX-7 turbo to the 3.0 si and the difference in power is night and day. Awd launches with traction control off is something to give a shot if you haven’t tried it. This SUV launches like a bat out of hell if you press the “dtc” button, and then hold down the traction control button for 5 seconds. If you don’t launch in 10 seconds it goes off though, so they treat it like launch control without calling it that. 4x4 launches are fun, but do that and it’ll slam you back in your seat lol.
Muffler restricts not only sound but air flow. once removed the Pops/crackles is the result from your exhaust being less restricted. it is more pronounced at higher Rpm!
How is the noise day to day? Too noisy? Drone? Debating whether to do this because I fear that the noise will be too intense on a Sunday cruise with the family.
ill try my best to explain here: while driving windows up, you'll hear minimum sound from exhaust. if you're playing some tunes you wont hear it. while drivings windows down, you will hear the exhaust note. its not obnoxiously loud and minimum drone. hope that helps! let me know any other questions!
@@builddrive7023 sorry for bad english. But the dynamic of your car is too good. I have e83 n52b30 and it accelerates much slower. Looks like you have a compressor
you drive a 3.0si X3? if so, I'd say, drive it in sport mode, that alone will make make your engine stay at higher revs, therefore engine will be create back pressure and since you have no muffler to restrict the pressure, you should hear the pops whenever you decelerate. the higher the rpm the louder the pops will be. hope that helps!
@@ItsCleto Deleting both resonator & muffler will produce more of a raw and louder sound, I guess it all depends on what kinda sound you're going after!
