I come back and listen to this every few months ... such a beautiful song, so exquisitely played.

Late afternoon sun in the forest, birdsong, water heating on the fire and listening to this. Delight.

I've searched RU-vid for this and none comes close to the soulful style of playing. I can play this videos many times in a row. This is BEST acoustic version of this classic song. Period.

Thankyou so much for this track Martin. When I was a kid growing up in the 60's, I used to play my Mums records, one day I played "Whiter shade of Pale" and my Mum burst into tears. It was her brothers favourite who used to be a pro Motorbike racer... he'd just been killed on the Dover track. For years that record could no longer be played. Now... My Mum is with her brother again and I can think of both of them when I hear it. This version is the nicest I've heard. Bless you for that Mate:)

I love this arrangement. it was one of the first fingerstyle arrangements I listened to now 15 years ago. I haven't gotten any better at the guitar but I still come back and listen to it fairly often. A Whiter Shade of Pale is one of the most amazing songs, which now sadly, no one will ever know the true meaning to now we have lost both Gary Brooker and even more recently, Keith Reid.

My longstanding view (with rare exception) is that when someone covers a song, they should improve it with their own creativity. Otherwise, it will most likely lead to disappointment, so they should just keep it to themselves. It's uncommon for a cover to improve on the original hit. It was a hit for a good reason. I have loved this song since it first came out in 1967. You have succeeded in improving it! Beautiful job! Thanks!

If you put 1000 newborn babies on a remote island and did nothing but teach them guitar, every waking hour of every day, for 30 years straight, you probably wouldn't wind up with a single soul amongst them with the level of pure talent and ability as demonstrated whenever Martin Tallstrom picks up his guitar.
