Yes same :D And yes for extended periods they get it for some time, but yes it won't be for unlimited time and there is the pressure to finish it up.

Hello bhaiya, I had a question regarding the interview for IISc. I am interested in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at IISc Bangalore. I am not that confident in my ability to do well in the GATE exam(Mechanical Engineering), but I have a publication in robotics at an international conference(CVIP). Will this help to some extent in getting into this course? I also am working(At ISRO as a thermal engineer), and I plan to take a study leave or leave my job for a duration from November to February. I will have worked for 6 months before then. Will IISc look at this fact as well?

Nope unfortunately that wont help. You need to have good gate score and following some interview to get into there

Dada I have this doubt...Do the masters students of IISc have INTERNATIONAL PLACEMENT? If yes then can u plz provide some insights or If no then why?

Its very rare. I remember, in our time there was one Japanese company came to the campus for preplacement talk, but finally they didnot take any students. I dont know exactly why is the reason, may be placement office couldn't coordinate with the recruitment teams of those companies. Even I feel in IITs also mostly Btech people gets those offers, rarely any Mtech gets that.

I got 2 calls for mtech And 3 calls for mtech research In mtech it was mentioned 70-30 weightage for gate score and interview Is there any weightage in mtech research also or it is totally based on interview?

I am confused between 2 offers 1. MTech Research, Mechanical, IISc 2. MTech Thermal, IIT Madras my preference is placement no phd

Sir , If I write gate mechanical and got a good score can I get admission in aerospace department in iisc banglore or any iit ?

Not sure, check the admission requirements there in aerospace department

Sir KD I have received call from Instrumentation & Applied Physics Dept for Mtech Research ...I'm not sure of doing phd in future ...i see Normal Mtech people getting VLSi placements from IAP dept ....Can Mtech Res students sit for placements in 5th semester to get VLSI companies (if they find that they're not interested in PhD, Academics etc)

Yes typically Mtech Research Student appear in placement in 5th Sem, when their cirriculum is about to end

@@kishalaydasI have One more question...if you find time to answer please do reply....I know IISC is research oriented and one must not focus only on placements......is IAP dept good for Placements and PhD (if i convert MtechR to phd) ? Can I complete my Mtech Res in 5th sem (2.5yr) and go for placements immediately after that ?
