We have a M&W original and I had to chuckle when you went into 3rd overdrive. The drive belt squealing. I'm curious of what serial number you have on the plate of your M&W gearbox. Ours is 1076. Their was an old gentleman, I believe his name was William DeTurck, from Pennsylvania who was tracking these serial numbers to determine how many of these are actually out there. Last I knew there were less than 100 according to the numbers. We met him at the Red Power Roundup in Tennessee. We talked for quite a while. He gave me a decal designating the M&W gear box and I promised him we would restore ours and meet up again at the Roundup in Ohio. If I remember correctly all of the records as to production numbers were lost in a fire.
