I went to the half century of progress show last year and they had a big M&W display there that had all the options on display it was really cool especially the stroker kit they made I would definitely recommend checking it out if you get a chance
I’ve got my eye on one that’s a really cool lpg conversion with a metric ton of M&W parts I just think they’re cool and I want my tractors to be different at the shows not just another m or h thanks for the comment I’m glad you enjoyed my content
Several of our tractors have the M&W increased bore sleeve and piston kits. A standard M went from a 3&7/8 bore the a 4 inch bore. increasing the cubic inches from 248 to 264 the same cubes as a super M.
I don’t know but Farmall didn’t seem to care about options like some of the other manufacturers. They had the lions share of the market so the aftermarket was big for them.
We had an M&W hand clutch on our M for awhile. It didn't work too well. When it was set to work on the corn chopper it would slip while trying to plow. We had heavy clay soil.
Wow , nice video, thats a lot of extras on the M . I would be very proud of that tractor too. I have 1 M tractor think about a 1949. I'll have to look but I think I have the extra gear, but with a cable, and ? maybe Charlyn power steering pump . it's located front left Power steering is not the behlen power type, as that's easy to tell maybe M & W. now I have to go out and look
Thanks I’m glad you liked it sounds like a nice tractor to run power steering is a top 5 upgrade for me the cable shift 9 speeds are more problematic check out my next video It will show a lot of the upgrades on my 45 m
Nice Video! Do you know if they made the fast hitch adapters for an H? Also why do you have to Run ATF in the power steering unit? I use light Hydraulic oil in mine and have never had a problem.
That’s probably fine as well the manufacturer recommended ATF I think type a I know people who run a 10 or 20 weight motor oil as well but you get the right pressure/performance with atf I don’t think they made them for a H but it’s so difficult to find information about the M ones that I might have just never seen one
Good day from Ontario. Interesting with live power, I don.t understand how LPTO work with that. Also has anyone ever seen 9 spd on W-4 or 6? Boy interesting video. Thanks
The only time I have seen a 9 speed applied to a W6 is because a local tractor puller adapted one to his pulling tractor for more gear ranges. For some reason, I seem to remember that he modified it to lower the ground speed instead of adding gears at the top, but I may have go that part of the story wrong. That guys also explained to me that the the Super M engine could accept an additional 3/4 inch of stroke and that he at that time was building those cranks in his farm shop. The guy was serious about his 'stock' tractor pulling.
It’s possible that he changed the ring and pinion to lower his speed then used the 9 speed to have a better selection Stroker cranks are very common in tractor pulling and M&Ws stroker crank is kind of small compared to some of the ones people use now I’ve never seen a w6 with a 9 speed either
@@DrRust In the W6 verses M, at least in the Super series, the rear differential ratio of the W^ was different from the M so that the gear ratios resulted in about the same speed in each gear between the M and W6.
