I was surprised myself. Really like this one. In this case, I used Boiled Linseed Oil as its hot and humid here and everything else takes forever to dry. One the 'backup' stock Ive been doing tung oil and its coming out nice...just takes a while.
@@MidwesternFC Nice ! I’m gonna be applying the BLO to my expert grade once my waiting period is over. I definetly want to get a Rack grade M1 to work on like yours !
@@wildoats1903 I bet it comes out nice. I'm really hoping they get some more 'field grades' in sometime. Best of luck with the expert grade and hope you can pick it up soon!
It's crazy how this rifle looks a whole lot different. The wood is very nice and I was impressed by the shape of the original barrel ! It turned out pretty well, great restoration
Thank you! I was surprised as well. Just goes to show you never judge a book by its cover :-) Thanks for watching as always and I look forward to more updates on your channel.
You can reach out directly to the FOIA department of the Army and put in a request. If you cant find the email online, message me and I'll send it to you. Its a great little resource.
You are required to say that you are willing to pay up to $25 for the service but they always fulfill it free of charge. Just might take a little longer these days with all the CMP 1911s, people have been flooding the FOIA requests. Mine usually take about two weeks as of recently.@@floridian9897
