@@sohaibhadia3526 It has 100 percent health because I use with cable at home. 120 cycles and 100 percent battery health with 5 6 hours screen time everyday. Still not degrading even one percent is good I guess.
Same.. I bought it early 2021 as a placeholder til I found a PC for a good deal. Within two days I realized I liked it way better than my old Dell. I won’t go back.
Let's be honest. Any laptop that has Geekbench 6 scores above 2000/8000 can do all CPU tasks easily. The biggest selling points are the battery life, iPhone synchronization, and light video editing.
I own my own consulting business and my M1 Macbook (16gb/1TB) is my main computer for everything I do. I even use it to create training video's and all that goes with running a business that incorporates online and remote interaction. This beast has never let me down and never slows down. I plan to keep it as my main computer until the M5 comes out which will be my next upgrade. Why the M5? Well, I am a Trekkie, so yeah.... Quite the Sci-Fi nerd here. haha!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the M1 MacBook Air. It sheds a brighter light on many of written review comments, and I also appreciate your accessory recommendations - I’ll definitely look for a Herschel laptop sleeve! Greatly appreciated 👍🏽
I recently got a MBA M1 base and it’s such a great value at current discount pricing. I like that the base model has fast SSD compared to M2 and I also like the ergonomics of M1 Air for typing (angle).
I got mine back in 2020 when they first dropped it. Still holding up like a champ for my day-to-day stuff. Dig the sleek design, but kinda bummed they didn't carry it over to the latest MacBook Air. That look is what screams MacBook Air to me.
Best laptop I’ve ever owned. Handles 4k 144hz with a single USB-C cable and handles all the web browsing, photo + kight video editing, and media consumption that I need without issue. All on 8gb! 😅
I have used the M1 Mac all through my high school years, it's still amazing after 4 years of heavy use. I can even play GTA 5 on is at 60 fps. This may be the best laptop of all time.
Just picked a sealed M1 Air Space Gray, 256GB, 8GB for $650 at Walmart. I've got an M2 Mini and an M3 MacBook Pro but this thing is so light and compact, it will be my travel unit for sure.
Does anybody know if I can use a pioneer DJ controller with this and a djay app such as Serato with this laptop? Does it have an SD card slot or a USB slot thank you.
On macos 14.4.1 my m1 air is getting around 14 hrs of Sot from 100 percent with 22 percent of battery still remaining. Also i noticed geekbench scores are much higher with single being 2373 and multicore of 8849. For 699 dollars which is the current price and with this kind of battery life and power this macbook is best laptop for anyone out there.
I bought it 3 months ago; it's a brilliant laptop in terms of ergonomics, a bright display, and the best trackpad I've ever used. I'm wondering how many years M1 the updates will last.
Got one when it just came out and I regret nothing, I've actually recommended it to friends who ended up loving it, too. I went from Android to a full Apple ecosystem.
I love my M1. I have had the m1 MacBook Air, iPhone 12 and iPad mini 6th gen since they all released and I have not had a reason to update any of them. The only “new” apple product I have is the Apple Watch 9 and that’s because I got a really good deal on it
iPhone 7 Plus user here & it’s been almost 7 years since I brought my iPhone & trust me, my phone still read my fingerprint perfectly. The money that I’ve spent all those years ago was and still is worth it. So I’m planning on buying this Mac this year. I’m not into video editing and all plus I probably will just either watch videos on RU-vid or use this Mac for my studies. What do you think Rich ?
Thank you for not mentioning the bezels, as I don’t think they should be a big deal, unless you’re a graphic designer who needs as much screen real estate as they can get. I don’t know why lots of tech vloggers have to point out the “thickness” of the bezels when they’re relatively thin and not noticeable at all when you’re watching media or working.
Nice. Non-repetitive content in a highly content-farmed area. That's not common, so kudos for that! I personally own a 8, 512 MacBook Air M1. I use it for graphic designing, occasional video editing, and content writing. I always plug it into a 4K monitor and run a dual screen setup. This has been taking it like a champ. This has been perfectly smooth for graphic designing. Many apps running at the same time is also fine. My biggest annoyance with the machine is that when I run WhatsApp or Google Docs, it hogs up the RAM and makes the machine stutter. Even when I edit and render lots of videos in Premiere Pro, it doesn't stutter. But with Google Docs, my God.. My regret is that I should have gone for the 16GB RAM. So if anyone is buying in 2024 and wants to future proof themselves, please get a 16GB version. I mean, its mostly fine with 8GB too, but if I could go back and do a repurchase I would definitely go for the 16GB version.
just got the m2, currently typing on it. I had the m1 and loved it honestly since having the m2 I appreciate the thinner bezels, and the display is aesthetically easy on the eyes. personally, I don't recognize most differences people are annoyed about with the speed and memory swap then although I don't/didn't edit videos anyway on my m1 or m2 so... 🤷🏽♂ other than that it looks up to date and basically a thinner version of the current MBP If apple continues this design I don't think I will be upgrading again until m5 and never thought I should downgrade back to the m1
Max charging wattage is 45W. That is a lot faster than the 30W charger it comes with, but it can't go faster than 45W, even if you have a 140W charger. You can see this at 7:57 where it shows 46.32W
Love my M1 Air (same colour as yours). Not going to upgrade anytime soon until Apple creates a waaaaaay better Air laptop than the M1. My opinion, this is a perfect laptop.
I just purchases 512gb model for $400 from a local game resell place. Overall pretty impressed. I plan to use this until this fall and then upgrade to the Pro version, hopefully a new model is coming out for this year. I plan to SPLURGGG lol got 6 months to save for it, Im going all out. This 2020 M1 will be more than enough to hold me over until then...
I mainly use Linux desktop (Fedora) on AMD cpu and gpu. That said, i do have Apple watch/ipad pro and iphone13. I wanted an apple computer and decided to get a refurb MB Air M2 base model. In shipping now. Should be here in a day or two. I do not do anything too taxing so the base m2 would be the way to go for me. Plus it saves me some $$.
So hard to justify an extra $300 for the M3 base model (at current sale prices). It seems like the M1 MacBook Air is perfect for people wanting to get in to the Apple ecosystem and are unsure of just how well the base model configuration will work for them. My sense is that an M3 is really held back by the base 8GB memory and really needs at least 16GB for the extra processor speed to be useful. This laptop just seems like a more balanced machine, and the M2's base storage is slow enough to be concerning. Thanks for the review!
I still use the M1 Air base model for my light day to day task. The best laptop I ever owned. Now with M3 support dual screen, I might consider an upgrade.
This is the first video I'm adding subtitles into! Please share your thoughts on whether they enhance your viewing experience and maintain your engagement, or if they prove to be distracting. Your feedback is valuable!
I like them. Subtitles that came directly from instead of being generated really help keep up with consistency. Also, I'm not Deaf, but I have a sister who is. Videos that come with subtitles already in the video are greatly helpful and appreciated.
The M1 MacBook Air is certainly a masterpiece and it is great to see that it has served you well and has great battery health after 4 years of usage. What charger do you use as your main charger, the included 30W from Apple or the 140W from AOHI?
I really want to buy a 16gb, 1tb version of the MacBook Air “M1” in 2024. In your opinion, would it be worth it in today's time Lifespan wise or would it be more wise to stick with an M2 16gb 512 or M3 16gb 512?
Hi viewers, please help me out guys, recently I have bought this m1 MacBook, is it good if I buy apple care plus ? I Am a college student and I do look after my devices properly, still I just want to know will apple care plus provide or help me in the next 3 years
I woudnt bother the laptop is old so it won't be that expensive to repair if there Is a problem . also apple care you still have to pay for stuff to be fixed and it doesn't last forever .
Admittedly, looking back, I would get a MacBook Air. I have the 14" pro (I used to have the Intel 16" pro) and I have terrible body pain all over me including my hands, wrists, and back. I need lightweight tech and something that is not too big or small. I'm not currently doing any work that justifies having a pro at this point. It's cheaper and you already get a large portion of what the pros have going on. If you do light editing or some kind of beginner work, or well, none of that--- I agree the air is a much better option for your money and usage.
I bought mine in Sep 2021. Still running smoothly, battery health is still 92%, could easily last the whole day (7 ~ 8 hours) for my programming work. The only regret I had was missing out on the 16GB RAM upgrade
Battery health can be found under: system information -> power -> health information. It will for sure not be 99%. In fact it's much better too use Al Dente for macos te keep the battery at 80% charge maximum. 50% would be optimal, but not practical, given you'd' want to actually use it on battery too.
not really once any product stops getting update support eventually it will stop being support by apps which is a major problem so every device has limited lifespan . unless you only use your device for stuff like browsing
