M1 MacBook Air OVER One Year Later! NOTHING Else Comes Close! 

I am legit offended when the mba runs out of battery. It literally spoils me

This MBA might just be the most complete laptop ever made, insane power, awesome screen, good sound, nice keyboard, and an outstanding battery life. What else do you really need? This machine might just be the best laptop ever made in terms of pure quality-performance and its price compared to other high end laptops, a total bargain! Well done Apple.

About 30 minutes before you posted this video, I tweeted, "The M1 MacBook Air has been out almost 15 months and we are still waiting on a Windows equivalent. That's nutty." True and real.

Bought one when it first came out a year ago as I was starting grad school, and it has been a gem. As a full time student, battery life is sick. It stays ultra cool. No fan. Never bogs down. If something starts to not work perfectly, you KNOW it's your internet connection or something else, not the system. Tabs on tabs on tabs for days in Chrome. Absolutely love it. When I'm home I run it to a 32in 4k monitor, BT keyboard, and BT mouse for multitasking. I hemmed and hawed between the MBA and the MBP. Ultimately, I bought the MBA M1 based on The Everyday Dad's review and have not been disappointed in the least.

The M1 MacBook Air basically spoiled me when it comes to how good of a laptop should be, and it's amazing to think how not that long ago, the MacBook Air was the laptop that most people shouldn't really go for unless if you have a specific reason.

I’ve had mine for a year now and it has been flawless and amazing. Hands down, still the best computer I have ever owned. Battery life is still incredible. Apple really achieved perfection with this one.

I got one last December to replace a windows galaxy tab as my travel computer. It's my first experience with Mac OS, so it had a learning curve, but it's been great! Going from maybe 3 hours of battery to literally two work days worth of it has been so bizarre, in a good way.

I really appreciate your standing behind the MacBook Air M1! With all the M1 variants out now, everyone else is saying the new ones are the only models that can edit videos, etc. But the Air can still do all of it too! And it’s not realistically much slower than the high end models.

Word! I love mine more than i ever loved a desktop/laptop i ever owned before.The passive cooling is my absolute favourite feature on top of everything else it delivers.

It’s a beast laptop for the price. I just got mine last November to retire a 2011 MacBook Pro and I’ve been loving it ever since. 400 nits is enough for me considering I mainly use this in dark environments and I do wish the ports were on different sides but the pros outweighs all the cons so I can’t complain

I’m glad I got this laptop, I bought this during august and im still enjoying it, the first couple of days I didn’t know how to move around and use the mac ecosystem, came from a Samsung chrome book, I’ve never regretted it one time.

I’ve had the M1 MacBook Air since it came out and still love it. I’ve had MBP’s since 2011 and this is the best MacBook I’ve ever had. As you said, it’s frictionless which s a great description for it - every functions works well and easily. Can’t rate it highly enough.

I’ve had my 8gb RAM M1 MBA for 12 months now. Not even tempted to trade in for M1 Pro or Max. Smokes my 4K video editing on FCP. Love it.

I finally got mine in December, wow, just transition from an older 2011 MacBook pro, I still was getting my stuff done but in ages, and the MacBook air it's just an amazing laptop, so light so portable, people who hate on it, clearly indicates that have not tried it yet

I can confirm. I've had lots a Mac's and PCs over the years. My last one was a 2019 MBP i9 with BTO specs up and it simply CAN'T come closer to this tiny little beast.

Last year, I bought the m1 MacBook air as my laptop for all my school work. This laptop is fantastic as a double major in computer science and data analysis! It completely outperforms my desktop PC I built a couple years ago. I have had no issues or hiccups with the MacBook Air, and it seems like I have a problem just about every week with my PC. I rarely use my PC now because of how efficient the MacBook air is. I have debated selling my PC and purchasing a Mac Mini, especially if they update it this spring, as some of the rumors suggest!

Picked up a refurbished gold base M1 Air a few months back. Both the cheapest and finest computer I have ever owned. Hope to own this thing for years.

I'm a medical student and I've been able to carry this around the hospital in the pocket of my white coat (it's snug but it fits, please note the coat is a touch stretchy). This has increased my efficiency cause I can literally go between patient encounters while stopping to study almost anywhere during the few lulls we get.

The first video you put out on this machine sold me and I have zero regrets. I dipped my toe into apple products with a XR as a complimentary device to my Note 9 but since getting the M1 MacBook Air I have taken a the dive into the deep end of the apple ecosystem. I ended up with an iPhone 12, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro and even some AirTags. I still keep my trusty Note 9 around for some of those things you can only do with a great android phone but I can easily admit that now is the time to embrace the Apple ecosystem.

This is my first mac, and i cant say a bad world about it. Its fast, it doesnt get hot (without a vent ffs)), it goes for at least 10 hours of use. Great screen, keyboard, trackpad. Its just on another level. It was pricey, but its so worth it.

I still love my 8 core M1 MacBook Pro w/ 16GB of RAM. It works perfectly well for on the go editing pics and doing web browsing. I bought the extra Ram and cores cause I wanted it to last and I'm sure it will. The main plus is still the battery life IMHO.

I had my M1 MacBook Air running for 69 days (1,656 hours), crunching four terminal programs almost all of the time, each apparently running on a single core. During that time, I was doing other things, too, including Teams and Zoom meetings. I'd tweaked the power settings so that I could lock the machine and have it continue to crunch away. At first I would keep the little machine sitting on top of two old hard drives with a small fan blowing air underneath. Yes the Air got warm, but never hot. As time went on, I stopped using the fan as it didn't seem to matter. The little machine did its work flawlessly. I'm used to running jobs on rack mounted Linux machines, and I'm very unforgiving of machines that won't do what I want. I am most impressed with my M1 MacBook Air. For pure number crunching, it's 50% faster than my late 2019 Intel iMac. Yes, that matters to me. Is the Air perfect? No. It is however very good, and I am very happy with it. I did not get the base model; I got the one with the 8 core CPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. It's gold. It's pretty, it's beautiful, it's powerful, it's a serious Unix number cruncher.

Me, a ThinkPad guy, got the base MacBook Air seven months ago. Very satisfied with the whole experience. It works like a charm, fast, reliable, portable, awesome battery life, surprisingly good typing experience. 98/100 recommend.

My mba is quite simply the best thing I have ever bought. I edit 4K video from an A7s iii in h265. In resolve it is epic. A little low on Ram for after effects (I have the 16gb version) but I still manage to produce hours of motion graphics. And it is silent so Voiceover recording is fantastic! I love my MBA. It is a wonderful workhorse.

I love the M1 MBA, it’s the first one that I buy. I got it this past xmas and so far it has been perfect, very smooth experience, I can personally recommended to every one. I mainly use it for Word, Excel, web browsing and zoom with no issues at all

I completely agree! I've had the M1 Macbook Air for a couple months now and love it! It's super light, easy to cary around, the battery lasts more than all day, and for $800 on sale at Costco, it's cheap enough to not worry about it. I just change it every night and use it all day. Don't have to bring a charger with me all over the house. So far it does everything that I need it to do including editing a rare personal video in Davinci Resolve. I appreciate your channel and the information that you provide! Definitely helps in my purchasing decisions.

M1 MBA is pretty much the first laptop I have that nears perfection for my needs. Like you, my only real gripe, is that I can only support 1 external monitor.

I have a M1 since September and I've only brought it to overheat when training a complex neural net

I'm getting a new Macbook every year since Leopard. I just got a MBA M1 base model as a replacment for.... my MBA M1 base model. Never happened before but this is the most fantastic piece of computer I ever had. For sure more than 1000 hours on its odo meter. My old M1's battery life was quite a bit less than in the beginning but for the rest it was still perfect. It's my MAMP Pro, databases and large dataset processing that eats 15-20% per hour. Still much much better than my intel Mac era.

I've noticed only one problem that might be related to the M1 chip. It's not even Apple's problem, but I've found that Chrome crashes quite often when I try to open a new tab. Hope this issue gets fixed with future updates

I am using M1 MacBook Air from Aug 2021, I sold all windows related laptops and desktop and pretty confident on my MacBook Air, top class laptop for my video editing

i use an MSI Stealth for most of my things for school (grad architecture student here) but i sooooo want a mac book air for everyday stuff and light end work. i have an ipad air already with an apple pencil 2 for some things but man having a macbook just seems so convenient.

Battery life is so awesome, with my windows laptop I had to worry about my battery dying on me whilst attending classes so I had to bring my charger. I don’t have to bring my charger with me anymore! I also use the laptop for photo editing and it’s FAST

I know; I'm probably late to this party but yeah... I'm hella excited for my gold M1 Air coming tomorrow! I got a nice case for it and a keyboard cover to match... my wireless mouse is pink to go with it... first true MacBook purchase I have ever made (directly from Apple, not used, and current - not a used one from 2007 like on eBay lol) ... I can't stop watching all the videos on this and the fact that Mac OS Ventura just further adds to the features and speeds... Can't wait :)

That MacBook Air is indeed awesome, and would have been my choice had I not been seduced by my new 14" MacBook Pro M1 which is like the Air on steroids. I also discovered that the OWC Envoy TB3/4 external drive is wicked fast for full backups for this gen of Mac lapis.

I bought macbook air. I was worried because I was using windows laptops hole life and now I bought an iPhone and I wanted to upgrade and I fall in love this this MacBook. Touch Bar, keyboard, screen, performance, battery life everything is great I love it

Because Gary won't shut up about the MacBook Air, I picked up one yesterday and he is right. I had an older i3 MacBook Air that was good, but this is like having my portable Mac mini. I bought it for work because my work provides for me a Dell Inspiron 3310(?) and it is all the things that Gary talks about with noise, overheating, thermal throttling and Windows. The keyboard is the same as my Magic Keyboard. I love it.....

I am totally totally satisfied with the M1 MBA and am pretty sure it will last me a few years as I went with the 16GB and boy its a banger.

I really like the Air M1. My only wish is more support. Even after more than 1 year some popular apps are still not native on the M1. Plus the bezels still give me old hardware vibes.

I’ve had mine for over a year. It’s such a fantastic device. It’s a shame the gaming aspect hasn’t been fully utilised otherwise it would wipe out a lot of competition from the selection of Windows laptops. The amount of videos I’ve done on the MBA M1 is crazy. 😜

fun fact: with the terminal command 'ac' (yes, simply 'ac' in terminal) you can see the total hours of use since it left the factory. For my MBA it's 3757 hours

The Air is a great machine. I am no computer expert, far from it, the Air is my my main business laptop. Surprisingly when I first got it I thought I’d test it’s gaming performance (having used an Alienware as my gaming machine). To my delight the MacBook Air ran the triple A gaming titles, albeit at lower frames than the Alienware really very well, but under such loads it did get very hot very quickly! With no active cooling inside, needless to say I didn’t game for long. I fully appreciate that the M1 Air is a business machine and not a gaming rig by any means, but I was most impressed that the M1 chip inside seemed capable of running whatever was thrown at it!

This laptop is too good !!!
