@@joeynelson4091 m1 tank burns 3gallons to the mile,m1079 tank transporter hauling an m1 can do it at 3 miles to the gallon ,thats alot of money saved in the budget.
Bugging out=marketing fear=selling people shit they don't need. Life skills are the only thing anyone need to survive. Good luck in your gigantic target!
not very practical for a family camper, a four wheel drive pulling a camper is a better option, you can park the camper and still have the truck to ride around in or another camper and storage in the back.. one vehicle instead of towing another one.
If it's registered as a recreational vehicle no. However, with that said, it would not hurt to learn how to properly drive, operate and work on one of these beasts should you choose to go this route.
no you acutally dont, weight has nothing to do with it, as long as its not for business you dont need anything like a cdl to drive it, only in the case of you using it as something like a tow truck or heavy equipment transport would you need a special license, these almighty beasts fall under recreational vechile category
@@tireballastserviceofflorid7771 no, you can buy an 80,000lb class A RV with air brakes and drive it home with a class D license. If you're not using it for commercial purposes then you don't need a commercial license.
what... idk where ur coming from either ur jealous or butthurt, from some fucked reason, you never know nowadays. btw ur minivan with a 4 inch lift kit and lmc tires isn't crap compared to this
Its made to be able to drive on rough roads. It has power to all wheels and the diffs on the non steering axles can be locked when also in L in the transfer case. Its a very capable hvy truck but its not suppose to be a Humvee
When the SHTF...you won't be able to supply fuel to this. The Military can barely keep these fueled during war...and they have near unlimited resources.
Interesting because I've never seen it done with an Oshkosh before but then again there's a good reason for that. There are far better trucks that are alot lighter, better offroad, better on road, better economy and less noisy out there to choose from. M923s M35s, Russian URAL 4320s or 375s, British Bedford MJs, Mks and TMs , DAFs and even if you want to go larger MAN KAT or Tatra 813 Kolos/ 815s
I have one of the expandable units mounted on a M796 Bolster trailer so it can be towed around.A PLS is longer than the HET and would be a waste of a good frame. The expandable unit is on a skid.. with a front mounting system the PLS could simply load it on its bed and unload it.
Hope they plenty of money for fuel, this thing holds 250 US gallons and gets piss poor fuel mileage, it ex-military, they don't care about fuel mileage.
Charles Damery the military care about fuel mileage, it’s just a long way down the list. And only to the extent that it’s a vulnerable part of the logistics chain, less so as an operating cost.
