M109R Stock pipes vs Cobra Dragster pipes Exhaust 

Nice video and kick ass sound

Great sound! I have the older version which are both long. I still find The cobra dragster is one of the loudest pipes out there. But what I really love about them is when you are accelerating aggressively and that sound hitting a whole new different tone is just sweet music to the ears.

Very nice sound on the cobra pipes but I like the stock better!! Its a deeper sound and it make the bike look wider!!

Blasted! I didn't have enough bucks to get the big dawg 109 so I had to settle for it's little brother the m90, but the video showed how the cobras sound, and look. Thx!

Yes the baffles were removed...I have put them back in since due to back pressure issues...they still sound pretty good with the baffles...the baffles give em a deeper sound

@hashess actually had to take mine in..I was having a problem with second gear..its fixed now.

After a second review, it sounds like my VTX 1800 with Vance and Hines Big Shots. And like my big shots, they need a "quiet baffle" installed to give it back some of that "bass" and get rid of that tractor sound.

Both sets of pipes sounded good. If I had to choose between the two, I'd take the stock pipes and probably go for a partial to full debaffle, IMHO. Killer Bike!!!

Sick ride

Picking my 2013 109r up this weekend. couldn't decide whether to get put after market pipes or leave it stock. now that I've watch this video, Thanks for helping come to a well thought out decision. Bike looks great i may add, but the pipes not really doing it for me. think ill stick with the stock pipes. the sound good enough without too much noise. just wondering though. Do u ever get tired of the loud noise, dos it become bother some vibrating in the helmet?

That's what i was thinking but this bike is so strong that i thought... no way that the gear box is broken. So my bad. Hope you'll have no more problems. I go now for a ride, so great to drive that bike! ;) V

I'm hesitating between cobra dragster or swept. You happen to try the cobra swept pipes? Also, do the dragster have heat shield? My leg is always up against that stock M109R pipe.

i love my m109 but the whole appeal of the bike is everything is big and beefy. you just cant throw on those little pipes. those are for shadows and sportsters. love the sound though

m109r's are great bikes. i have a silver 2006 and i love it. how long have you been in hawaii? i was there from 2000 to 2008 at hickam in 735th AMS. enjoy the weather and ride safe.

I went for a harley test drive the other day and drove 5 bikes and i can't justify buying a 30 thousand dollar bike to replace mine when i like my m109 better. But i wish i had a stereo.

You know....I think I actually liked the sound of the stock pipes better. The Cobra's are certainly louder....but too raspy. I like the deeper base of the stockers. Makes it sound more muscley.

No..I paid the dealer...I just didnt want the hassle..Its not to difficult if you got the time. I had them put on a powercommander as well. That was the part that looked difficult to me. Like I said I dont think this video really captures the true beefyness of these pipes. They sound mean and are very very loud. almost too loud at times. I would definitely give these pipes a high recommendation...I have heard other pipes on the 9...and well I think these sound the meanest by far...

@pick4399 well first off...with the m109r you'll save loads of cash vs the harley. They are both great bikes tho. I was in your same exact position. I went with tthe 9 based on a 10 thousand dollar difference in cost, but i am in hawaii...who knows what kinda deal you can swing in the mainland. The 109, in my opinion, is better looking bike. You wont get the compliments on v-rod that you'll get on the 9.

Drag pipes are so ugly. They are too far apart from each other, too small and the whole exhaust is the same diameter. It don't look right at all. Hate them!

i dont see what the big deal with loud pipes is? 2 buddys put pipes like that,its loud as hell,pisses everybody off.gotten tickets,motorcycle cops hate them,there MPG has gone way down.they back fire,the bike run odd,the motor heats up more,when put on the dyno machine they lost HP and it cost them over $500 for 2 pipes..you tell me where the benefits is?..everybody thinks there bike is suepr fast cuse its loud,dyno it n see how much u lost HP
